Blessed be, a rare sighting indeed. The whole scene is absolutely stunning with the early morning sunlight on the sand. And off he goes, beautiful sighting.!!
@@user-ho3dk4pg8y This water hole was constructed to serve animals in numbers that wouldn't have been there otherwise, including some not native to the Namib or to the country. And thus attracting tourists. Neither would be natural. In doing so, the grasses around the water hole have been trampled and grazed more heavily and have been mostly eliminated. The feed may be entertaining but the view isn't natural.
Best view yet of this magnificent creature! Those longing for the return of The Leopard (you know who you are) know it's only a matter of time. Thanks to NamibiaCam for capturing this special moment for all of us, and for posterity.
😂😂😂 I have 5 German Shepherds right now and have had many through out my life as I train them. I would freak out if one showed up and looked like that. A good German Shepherd should never slope like that. But I get what you are saying. Your comment was the 1st one and I saw it as the video started. I was straining, thinking OMG....why is there a German Shepherd at the watering hole. It would never survive in that heat or in the wilds of Africa. 😂😂😂😂 you got me😂😂😂😂

Your all GOOD 👍 I live in the US, have European German Shepherds and longcoats on top of that. When I go to an AKC Dog show for Obedience or Scent trials, there are plenty of people that give me the snob nose or the why would you ever....the German Shepherd "Show" communities are forever at war with which type is superior, Showline or working line (police/military style), America line or Euro line. @NamibiaCam There are lots of spotted Hyenas at the waterhole tonight, they are playing and they are really loud. I hope you can make a video of that, too, as my 5mins as a limit are too short to document everything. 18th June 2023 around 22:00, 22:30 and later.
i was fortunate to be watching the camera on EarthCam last week (Oct 2023) and a pack of hyena visited to drink and eat on what i guess is a salt block... must have been 10 of them.
Where’s the camel’s hump?! He sure was thirsty and drank a lot. Wonder how far he had traveled and how far he went on that tank of water. ❤ glad to have stumbled upon this. Thanks.
i don't know diddly about these creatures but i'm of the opinion that that fella coulda used an iv. man he was thirsty. and a bit on the nervous side. thanks a lot for this video.
It acted like prey instead of a predator. There must be something that preys on it. Cheetah? Wild dogs? It seems like a very powerful animal, but it was so nervous, responding to every slight difference.
The sensitivity of the microphone is so good. Really adds to the experience of watching these great creatures.
It was really great to see the Brown Hyena. Especially in daylight. Thanks for recording this. Awesome sighting. Also. LOVE the new camera.

He was very thirsty!! I find it incredible you can actually hear him lapping up the water, very cool!
Where is the mic?
Poor thing…he’s so thirsty:((
Thank you for supplying animals with a safe watering hole❣️

We just tuned in after a couple of hours' break and saw this - amazing! I've never seen one by daylight, only nighttime.
wow! how exciting. thank you for making this video! I would have missed this.
Rare not only at the waterhole but in the world as well.
Brilliant! Thanks for sharing NamibiaCam!

Beautiful! Thank you. Did wonder on the approach what a German Shepherd was doing in the Namib Desert.

Hyenas -- the caniformic feliform. Quite a sight, this one. How many litres of water do we suppose it drank? Very thirsty indeed.
Yeah, I saw that this morning (my morning) and almost dropped my coffee. I thought it was a wolf at first.
I actually miss seeing the live feeds, do you have them anymore?
If I was that rare I wouldn’t drink that noisily.
😅
A hyena as a lone Wolf ?
What a cutie❤
That hyena was sure thirsty!!
How common are these water holes? Typically how much distance from one to the next? This camera is a wonderful resource! Thank you so much.

Hyenas are the one kind of critter I really don't like...cuz they're always stealing from others, just like democrats.
Silly and misinformed comment.
Hyenas work hard unlike Democrats, lions steal more frequently than hyenas
