I don't think I'll ever forget this visit by the Cheetah today...simply magnificent because it was so unexpected to see. Truly one of the most beautiful creatures ever to grace this earth.
Magnificent animal! Amazing how a 100-pound cheetah can calmly hold several tons of oryx (with hooves and horns) at bay, and frighten them all just by standing up and sauntering off.
I have some trouble with your weight estimates. LOL. However, the adults will know the cheetah will get a calf and may not always hunt alone. Caution is well advised. Prey species get only one wrong judgement of the risk.
lol Orynx is mad, offering contemptuous snorts of disapproval of the cheetah invading its pan. Cheetah responds by promptly sitting hind quarters down to get more comfortable. lol Orynx thinks it's higher in the food chain than it is. ; )

It seems to me the oryx was trying to say “shoo kitty” but kitty was thirsty to so the oryx had to wait. It better than the jackal yelling, “I’m not alone, I have friends” while kitty and her children just wanted to drink in peace. That video was funny.
They mostly keep them hidden. I've been watching around as long as you and have seen baby oryx only once. The mods on at the time explained it was super rare to see them.
How is the waterhole maintained. ? Heat of 35 and 37degrees celcius daily. Yet it looks topped up. Is there a natural water feeding it or long hosepipe fed beneath the ground from another source ?
That Cheetah could care less about the oryx that were around him, he wanted some water and that was that, after the cheetah was done drinking he was not going to do any chasing with a full belly of water sloshing around.
Cheetah usually prey on smaller animals; Oryx are too large for them. They do steenbok, springbok, impala, even red hartebeest but not eland or oryx; they also don't attack humans in the wild.
So many questions. l only see one cheetah, so it should read 'surprises', l feel. The noises are the oryx, right? l personally can't make warning noises and drink water at the same time. Who put the salt lick there?
Srsly, I just watched one where they were all at the watering hole and there were others politely waiting and the Oryx had his nuzzle in the water and wasn't even really drinking. C'mon, really? ( It was the one with the baby giraffe.) And they are always a little bit trollish and tetchy.
Wow! That's incredible to see. The way the prey stood back, knowing that the predator was drinking but could hurt any of them at any point. Effectively communicating "Have your space to drink. We will wait." I'm surprised the oryx don't move further back to make way; Perhaps if they did, the cheetah would see a golden opportunity for a kill (Given the way they hunt). Just wow.
That huge thirst could be an indication of diabetes! Animals, as any veterinarian will tell you, can be diabetic. Alf Wight wrote in his James Herriot stories about it.
Neither their lives are horrible and brutal, and they have to work hard to "hopefully" get some food. I would much rather be a zebra, they have great social groups, and they only have to go on a leisurely stroll to get some food.
That's called respect!!! Cheetah are my absolute favorite animal so it's such a delight to watch these few minutes of his day.

It must have been such a buzz seeing it 'live' Hula. Special indeed.
It was amazing, Annette...I didn't expect a Cheetah to turn up!! It made my Saturday x@@annettelane659
Wow - I missed this live so wonderful to see the Cheetah now. 😍
so happy you saw it live
I was so giddy that I couldn't type fast enough ha ha...3rd time seeing a Cheetah live now and many more to come (I hope) x@@capeangela

So Grateful for the presence of these precious animals in this world.
We need to protect.
Beautiful Cheetah and always a delight to see. Love how the Oryx slowly meandered back to the water after the Cheetah had vacated.
He could have just ignored the cheetah and drank like casually.
@@billyjudd3326 Maybe Billy but Oryx are well aware that Cheetah can take them down, and especially the young calves.
@@annettelane659 No they can't. The herd didn't have any calves. A single jab would've been game over for the cheetah.
Gorgeous cheetah. Thank you for sharing !
That water hole is a godsend for all the animals who access it. Water is life.
I Love how the Cheetah stood up and All the Oryx jumped at the same time, LOL!
Wow!! So happy it was daytime so that we could see the beautiful colors of the cheetah. ❤❤
Cheetah was a thrirsty boy. Bro drank for 3 whole minutes lol. Even the Oryx was like "Hey leave some water for us too!"
I watch this watering hole just about every day and have only seen oryx and ostriches at the hole! This was a nice surprise1
The Oryx are a little territorial about the hole and chase others off. It's fun to see one Cheetah hold court.
I missed this as I was out ☹️, loved the way the cheetah glances up at the camera as it leaves 😊
Next time!🤗
This was amazing to see... Cheetahs rarely drink - seldom do they drink more than once every four days and sometimes only once every 10 days.
Lovely how the cheetah looked up at the camera as it was leaving. It wanted to say thanks :)
that cheetah drank for a loooooong time lol those onyx's were probably thinking 'dang dude... save some for the rest of us!'
lol Orynx is mad, offering contemptuous snorts of disapproval of the cheetah invading its pan. Cheetah responds by promptly sitting hind quarters down to get more comfortable. lol
Orynx thinks it's higher in the food chain than it is. ; )
That cheetah must have been extremely dehydrated. By my count he drank for a solid minute and a half.
What beautiful animals in daylight! The orix on the left seems complaining😊
That's hilarious and so cool to see a cheetah.
Oh so beautiful!! Thanks for sharing with us!!
You are so welcome!

The boss drinks first.

Fantastic to watch. Possibly the mother cheetah or one of her offspring? Love the oryx observing.
Our beautiful Namibia!
I still can't fathom, having watched this cam for two years, I've never seen a baby Oryx! Do they grow up somewhere else maybe?
They mostly keep them hidden. I've been watching around as long as you and have seen baby oryx only once. The mods on at the time explained it was super rare to see them.
Oryx is a majestic creature. I think predators tend to look elsewhere for meals. They can kill a lion on their back.

Beautiful Cat!
Cheetah is the animal kingdom's personification of ballet -- graceful feline.
the way the cheetah plunked itself down shows how thirsty it was, was only going to have a sip but couldn't contain himself!
What a marvelous sighting
I think, Oryx is too much for one cheetah.
Cheetah likes to chase antelopes.
The cheetah walked away like a cowboy with spurs on…😅
Lmao Cheetah stands up qiickly and the herd all skidattles quicklier😅

That Cheetah is bloody thirsty.
Cats rule 😂 What a beauty
Amazing creature indeed!
It really is!
Did no surprise oryx, thay did no it there. Sound like gnu in back too. Lovely see this cheetah a gain here.

Oryx are the Karens of The Waterhole
😂

Big chicken oryxes...over one cheetah!
Serendipitous...
This is so cool!

Just wow.
It's called respect! That is, respect the one that can eat you!!
Does anyone remember when this channel exploded with new subscribers and viewers during Covid?
Appears to be a lone female...wonder if this is the mother or one of the cubs all grown up? Gorgeous.
👍 Awesome !!!! 😍
With one dead stump every 300 meters, cover is a bit of a problem for both predators and prey.
2:59 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you!
I watched through my fingers at the end........... hate jumpscares lol
Ladies and Gentlemen, The Cat.
Cheetah drink water ❤
Maybe the guy behind the camera should use a handkerchief😉😉😂.
Cheetahs, unlike humans, don't kill animals for nothing❤
Megafauna. It'll never last.

wow surprised me too
Awesome 🤩👍🌷
Did the cheetah meowed at the end?
C'est tout ?
Come on lady us guys are thirsty also !
Why do they lick those rocks ?
I thought cheetahs doesn't drink water
The animals want cleaner water
Leopard?
No Cheetah
Would you rather be a cheetah or a lion?

Wow beautiful
Poor cheetah, was so thirsty but didn’t let them pass for some water, one day I’ll visit this place and be in camera 😊
Angela mod
linda cheetah
Cheetahs always make funny sounds and they’re very fast they can hit up to 6 miles per hour but not as fast as a peregrine Falcon of course 😅
Sixty
かわいい
Wow
Oryks gazella.
The Oryx were very unsatisfying-ly not thirsty.
The oryx rarely drink the water. They just stare at it and bully each other.
2:59 😅
Respect
Make a new Infinity Stream, a Life harp seals please
I think the thirsty Oryx actually surprised the Cheetah.
That gemsbok is getting way to close for comfort
wow
Wouldn’t a healthy adult oryx be too much for a cheetah?
Yeah, the cat is not interested in pursuing at all. If it was with a pack, maybe.
Cool
Hey!
They should repair the float to save water.😢
It is probably a solar pump which pumps continuously during daylight hours.
❤
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I missed the part where the cheetah surprised them. Mislabeled video.
Maybe you haven't known the webcam for long. But cheetahs are very rare to see, while antelopes are there all the time. Hence the title
The water is much smaller than before ……
It is probably a solar pump. Although Namibia has lots of sun the water evaporates fast and it doesn't pump overnight.
The chances of seeing a cheetah or another of the predators that show up actually catch, kill and eat something here are remote but I keep watching.
🐆!
