Thank you for this video. I feel the ghosting looked frightful and would make the next week start with mess instead of a blank page. I’m looking at Hemlock and Oak for 2025.
Yeah, the ghosting is serious and it’s a gamble to try it out. I completely understand that you are looking elsewhere. I’m not sure if I will keep all three of my 2025 Hobonichi planners. I need to have a look at my Sterling Inks when they arrive to see if they have the same issues.
I’m glad there’s not really bleeding but the ghosting is so heavy I’m worried it would look weird create issues when writing and highlighting on the back page.
@@CaliberDawn I agree! It’s concerning that the ghosting might be so heavy that it has an impact on the other pages. I guess we just have to try and see. Sad though.
tomoe river's original brand discontinued their paper 1-3 years ago and then it was bought by another company who have a new version of tomoe river paper that's why the paper is slightly different now. A lot of brands used up the old productions and are finally phasing in the new tomoe river paper.
@@planitpanda Hobonichi said they were using the old version for some of the planners last year so maybe it’s that? I switched over to sterling ink last year so I don’t have actual experience with new paper
Yeah no, the new TP Sanzen paper last year was fine. A little more tooth and less shine than old TP but still very fountain pen friendly. Some of the new batches are terrible however 😫

Glad your planners are safe! I had same experience… ghosting but no bleedthru 😅
Happy to hear that you had the same experience too 😅 It could have been so much worse! What planner/planners did you get for next year? 😃
@@planitpanda I actually plan in rings but for journaling I have hibino, a6 hobonichi and weeks… and other stuff to play with ongoing of course 🤣🤣🤣
@@tortagialla sounds like a good lineup. And some play stuff, which we’re all guilty of having 🤣🤣🤣

@@tshaa thank you for commenting ☺️ I know this, but it’s still a big difference between the new Sanzen paper from 2024 and the one produced for 2025.

@@tshaa The old paper was still used for the 5 year Techo and the weeks. But this year it’s new in all.
