Worked there from 1976-1999. The portable conveyor you saw at the beginning of the video was used to empty the coal bunkers during an outage. (You can see the hatches just above the coal feeders later on in the video). The conveyor took it from the bunker being emptied up to a fixed conveyor that ran the whole length of the feeder floor (the 42 foot level if I'm not mistaken). It was then discharged into a hopper outside where it was dumped into lorries and taken back to the coal plant. Even though it's been a long time, I'm still familiar with most of the equipment there, so feel free to ask me any questions.

Interesting video don't know too much about power stations but nice to see inside it,I was an AM Medium Wave transmitter engineer so totally different, but that ended when I had an operation to fix broken bones and had metal implants put in my leg as it makes it too dangerous due to the wattage, shame security turned up but look forward to next video and have got notifications set to let me know.

What a shame - I worked, in several different roles, at Aberthaw from 1974 - 1988

Actually the inside is not a lot different than when it was working, except for the dismantled plant. All coal fired power stations are dirty. I spent 40 years in the industry.
