You really have to recognize the talent that goes into being in a 1A band. I’m in one and it is HARD! You really have to be on top of everything because any mistake is much more noticeable in a small band.
That was a pleasure to watch! What a fabulous group of kids! I was in high school band, as were two of my daughters, and we saw a lot of bands at competitions, all of them many times bigger than this band, but these guys could have competed with any of them! I know this is old, but if they ever see these comments, they should be proud!
This is something else. I can't help but appreciate that the guy in the suit (I can't tell if that's the drum major or not but it probably is) switches from bari to alto, then conducts, then plays. Love small bands like this, and coming from a 1A band myself I can say for sure that everything needs to be perfect to sound good. This is truly one of the best 1A performances I have ever seen.
One of my very favorite small band performances. The quality of sound that they produce is amazing. Very confident players! And the marching is on point!!!! Difficult maneuvers while maintaining the quality of sound is impressive. I also love that despite not having a color guard, they are able to add to their GE score with the use of the hand and arm swings. Outstanding!
It is so weird that 1A bands are so small now. I came from a small town and EVERYONE it seems was in the band. Please search Crowell High School Band 1975 or 1976. We were the 3rd largest 1A band in the state. Seagraves was 1st and Holliday was 2nd. I love this band from Water Valley! They certainly rocked it for such a small band and so deserved to be in the State Competition.
It’s the smallest one in Texas I go to this school but know in 2020 the band is huge so many players all the clarinets are out only a few tubas and that’s it is huge now
Watching small band like these make me smile. so much more work is required by the individual the talent on this field is phenomenal. excellent job!

15 people and you still can't hear the flute

I play sax and when I play against them I can’t even hear them I put blowed them the sax is loud
@@shaylahwilkins1493you can easily go to like the E above it
we never get any recognition that kid is just doing what must be done
This gives me hope for our band of 60.
(Meaning this was phenomenal for such a small band)
These kids can play and March! Such great heart!

These people really didn't deserve to be last in 1A

Very clean for this size band! And they are making things work with what they have! Well done Water Valley!

we sure are small but it definitely makes really good musicians out of it.
I come from a 4A school, and I LOVED this show!! It’s VERY clean and the confidence was amazing. AMAZING JOB!!
They did an amazing job
Especially for a small band like that, that's beyond good
You guys are the pinnacle of amazingness to everyone who marches in a band of less than 60 hello welcome to the party and you are amazing
Being in a 1A band you really gotta know your stuff (I'm from a 6 A band)
Nice I’m from a 5A band what school are you at?
@@shritan0 i went to Texas high school though the following years it has gotten smaller

Amazing Job!!!!
At my school (water valley this school) my brother is lead baritone but now plays French horn
I know this was five years back but wow man you were absolutely killing it! I really hope that everyone in that band is still making great music

Bravo, Band!! 15 members. Congrats!
Your band deserves so much praise! Very impressive for a small band.
I used to go to their school and my brother was in that band last year, they are amazing and have awesome teachers😁😘
What’s your name and brothers name cause I still go to this school
We just played them last night and their band is still about that size but damn it’s still good
their pit consists of a single suspended cymbal
who cares?
Bravo, kids. Bravo.
1A competition must have been rough that year this honestly isn’t the worst I’ve seen especially from certain 2-4A bands
Wow! Like 15 people and they still sound like 60+ person band!

During that time, was there Class B for UIL?
@@rocketfan86 There was a class B but they did not compete as they didn't have music programs.
did you hear what happened to seagraves on their way to a compeititon?
my marching band only has 13 people but honestly i hope we can sound like this cuz they turned it out.
I absolutely love this!!!
they were really good for a 1a band
They’re so cute
This gives me hope for starting a BOA band at my high school
dang. very small, yet so impressive
Damn they did an amazing job
Man they sound a heck of a lot bigger. Nice!
They were last? There were way worse bands. They did rlly good
This has to be the smallest marching band I've ever seen
Liam the Marching Band Guy surprisingly my band was smaller in 2014
It’s the smallest one in Texas I go to this school but know in 2020 the band is huge so many players all the clarinets are out only a few tubas and that’s it is huge now
And when I mean out like all the clarinet are being used and there are no more
How many members they got as of 2020?
great job, guys!
What songs do they play?
This is pretty good!
Do they have a drum major besides the Bari sax?
Bands like this don't have a drum major
not bad for a 1A marching band!
Not bad!
Oh my goodness that band is small, my drumming has more people than their entire band, just the battery part
Drumline*
Ours almost double their size :P and we're still in 1A...
You should have seen the drummer at the pep rally’s his hand where everywhere and where going so fast and yet loud and amazing
They have alternates?!?!? Lmao
Yes they do
I go to that school
I think they do I don’t know
LMFAOOO YOOO
@2:00. frowny face. 😞
not bad!
