It's amazing growing up in the country camping in the backcountry with obs Ford's and Chevy Trucks for weeks and then watching these videos. We didn't n eed 10 percent of this stuff and kept it simple stupid and did so much more. These videos always blow my mind.
Sure you didn’t need it, but as you said simple and stupid. That doesn’t take you farther that’s only gonna give you more problems down the road, do it right once and don’t worry again.
I love the trash bag idea. Everywhere I go I’m always picking up everyone’s trash along with my own of course. Great video. Love the mods on your truck.
Good content, clear voice,- all very out of my budget - You have 110,000* in that truck , I realize you get (some) products for review. Just realize must people don’t have near this much money. They will most likely go in debt buying these items.
Sweet setup!! I'm just getting into offroading, out of necessity, as I'm also getting into hunting. One seems to just blend into and become a natural part of the other. Thanks for all the great info.
Thank you for covering in the description of you paid for something or got it for free. Hearing it in the video would be great, but this works. This stuff matters, thank you for not just glossing over it.
hey man thanks for the vid! I have had 35 BF Ko2's on my jeep for 2 years now. Living in Canada I can tell you they are an awesome tire in the snow. As an all round good tire for off roading and with the snowflake rating I have been quite impressed with them and will continue to use them.
Man your rig has really evolved into something super cool. The only thing I am surprised about is that you do not have actual sliders. For me that is a day one mod.Other than that epic rig.
I have those same side nerf step sliders and they are pretty tough. I got t-boned by a lady in a little Honda (not high speed) and she all but went under my truck because of those. Barely put a scratch on em and I all but tore off the front of her car. saved me a lot of money in repair having them.
Congrats on baby. You will experience love like no other My boys come everywhere with me. Take her on every trip so good for them. Thanks for great video.
You have a great rig setup. you can tell you researched what's best for you. The video is great. keeping things honest and real. keep up the great work. happy trails to you. also... congrats on the baby.
With that many lights, you should seriously consider a dual battery setup with a DC-DC and a Solar-DC charging system. In Australia, a dual battery setup is almost a given when setting up a decent overland rig. It is a must here specially if planning to carry a portable fridge and/or an inverter - which is a must if planning to be totally self-sufficient and off the grid.
Thank you Ed for making it concise. I always have to look for your other videos to get the names and your opinions on the product. I have a 2011 Tundra. Wish I had yours. Good luck with the baby. Maybe you can do a video on age appropriate child over landing equipment and advice.
That's a nice phone mount, wish I would have seen it before the pro clip mount I purchased. Looking forward to the trash bag review video. I'll wait for the video before buying one for my 4runner. Large -green
Very interesting and thorough walkthrough with useful insights into your mods. Also your new studio setup looks really nice and the audio sounded great!
Ben a follower for a little while now binge watching all your videos you in your wife or inspiration to me in my family I hope to figure out the best way to start overland camping here soon!!!
Green Large. Nice video, I like the combo of the crystal clear audio back in the studio with the roll around shots of the rig. You can tell every mod you make is with purpose and trying to stay true to the stock vehicles aesthetic and capability.
Great video, the feedback on your modifications is very helpful. Though the BFG KO2 may be more expensive, I have never had any issue with them, and they usually have long tread life. XL Green.
Love your Tundra. I’ve got a Jeep JKU and a Tundra TRD crewmax and really like the room in the Tundra, but I can’t beat the maneuverability of the Jeep... still on the fence about which one to build for overlanding. I’ll watch more of your videos and decide which platform to build. Thank you for your thoughtful presentation! XL Grey T shirt
This was an excellent video, very transparent. I am only getting into this, my Tundra will be delivered next weekend, can't wait to get out into the Adirondacks. Cheers man!
Well... Looking at this truck from a European perspective, some things tend to be a bit over the top but... Having said that... She does look cool AND I definitely like the lighting setup ... with the remote switch AND a App... Wow... I learned something ... 👍 Thx for that piece of information ℹ️ The overall experience is very nice, I mean your different solutions ... the sealed boxes for the truck bed are also something very nice indeed 👏 Greetings sir from Germany 🇩🇪
First and foremost congratulations on your first child. The truck looks very nice. The only thing I can think of though when I see this rig is gas mileage gas mileage gas mileage......lol 35 inch tires, lifted, lots of constant weight in the back, bumper with winch.... all that weight. I will say that I love my tundra with 275/70r18 ko2s.
Congrats on the coming baby girl. You’ll need a stroller mount on your rack and a molle setup in the back seat area for a diaper bag and toys. I’m surprised at how much space my baby girl actually needs in our Tundra when we travel. Green XL please
Also, I agree with one of the other comments… rock sliders are on my short list because that long wheel base doesn’t need rocks to create a problem… I destroyed side steps just going over some berms.
Very knowledgeable. You’ve earned a sub with this high quality video and walk around. Definitely giving me some ideas for my Tacoma. I have the same wheels. 🤙
The only thing you have to do to fit a 35 in the spare tire space is air hammer off the guide tabs. I took it to an off-road shop here in town and they did mine for free. Took them just a couple of minutes to do it. I have a 35" Nitto Ridge Grappler under there now and that 5th wheel is part of my regular tire rotation.
I’m glad you’re boldness and humble to say you don’t have rock sliders and have bars. That’s awesome because most think they’re gonna rock sliding and spend minimum $1000 on a set and wait 2 months when I’m fact never go out and use them like Jeeps do. Good on you dude 👍🏼
Love you rig and all of your mods you have definitely done a lot of research to get all the necessary equipment. So jealous. Would love to win a green in medium. Thanks.
I live in Oregon and have a 2019 Tundra double cab with the 6.5 bed. Thanks for making the video, it will be helpful when the time comes to start purchasing products. This will be my first overlanding truck. Any do's and don't advice for beginner's would be appreciated. Also good locations for beginners if you know any here. Your rig is awesome!
Great video! I just put a 3/1 spacer lift on my 2019 TRD off road and love the height and ride! Hoping to get some bigger tires! If I win I’d take a green shirt in the biggest size you got! Lol 4xl or 3!

But you didn’t look as cool tho right? 😅
@@steph9445 that's for sure. But I guarantee we had more fun without worrying about filming every second.
Sure you didn’t need it, but as you said simple and stupid. That doesn’t take you farther that’s only gonna give you more problems down the road, do it right once and don’t worry again.
This is about the best pros and cons RUclips commentary I’ve ever seen!

"boldness to the grunt of the engine" That's a poetic turn of phrase. LMBO
New subscriber. It’s great to see quality mods done on a tundra. Not a lot of solid videos for us tundra owners.
Great overview! Thanks! Congrats on the baby! It has been fun to follow along in your videos. Keep up the great work! Large grey.

Thomas Warren good to hear! I’d say they are one of the best bang for the buck mods we can get 👍
Great video!! I recently purchased my 17 Tundra TRD PRO and your rig has inspired a lot of what I want my rig to be. Keep it up!!
Calvin Leangpun congrats on the purchase! 👊
Congrats on baby. You will experience love like no other My boys come everywhere with me. Take her on every trip so good for them. Thanks for great video.

Love the build. Hope the pregnancy is going well. Small green for me thank you!
Nice. Look into tow mirrors. They are easy to install, provide better visibility and have turn signals and running lights.
