    The transformation was beautiful. Poor lady. I’m sure that toenail was super painful. You made it look like it never happened.

    I see videos a lot where a broken toenail is repaired with polygel, and since I see so many highly skilled industry professionals doing this, I assume it's fine/safe to do. But, I have been wondering because I know uncured gel isn't supposed to touch the skin because an allergy can develop. Is the exposure time before it's cured just not long enough to harm anything? Thank you! Absolutely beautiful job on the pedicure.

    The result is beautiful, but I would never put polygel, or any gel product for that matter, on the exposed nail bed.

      @@pliktlIt matters how long the product is wet on the skin. Dry product has little to no chance of causing an allergic reaction & patching a missing piece of nail like this is fine as long as the person doesn’t have a history of allergy to the product & you as the tech clean the area thoroughly of the sticky layer after curing.
      The science is in the chemical composition of the products. You can deduct how each ingredient individually reacts to the skin over time & gauge how safe you personally feel having these gels on your nails 🖤

      @@stardustfactory8311 But isn’t it absorbing into the skin while curing?

    • @stardustfactory8311
      @stardustfactory8311 3 месяца назад +3

      @@WatermelonCatermelon No. I don’t think you can absorb just any particle thru ur skin. For example, I can’t just oil ur cuticles w vegetable oil, it won’t work, won’t absorb. I have to use oils that have molecules small enough & similar enough to body oil (sebum) for the cuticles to be able to absorb it.
      Similarly, the gel will sit on top of the skin as it cures. It bonds to itself rather than the skin. You just have to get rid of the sticky layer that sits on the skin, that’ll cause a reaction even if the product has cured

      @@stardustfactory8311 But the chemicals in the gel can be absorbed. That’s why HEMA is a big issue. The molecule size is smaller than other acrylates

      Toenails should never have artificial products applied onto them. To be honest, she should have left it to grow out and/or recommended her to podiatrists.

    Beautiful job really ❤ however, I wonder if this is healthy for a nail already infected with fungus, wouldn't it be more important to get it treated by a Podiatrist provider instead of masking it, well unless a special occasion was around and you need to look good but otherwise I would not put gel on bare infected skin
