Great video. EXMODZ make a bit more sense now.
Hi, your mod "Concrete with wood" not supported now?
I don't find this mod in download option.
I download this file on site, but i don't understand how to install EXMOD file in the Icarus mod manager...
Makes sure you are clicking the update database button at the top right of the downloads section in IMM. If you don’t see that button its usually because you have windows scaling enabled. Disable scaling and then click the button and it will update the data base.
@@jimk7221 Ok, thanks.
@@jimk7221 I am opened .EXMOD via 7zip and copied to a folder)) It worked that way too))
I could not figure out how to add an exmodz, seemed very confusing coming from modding other games, specifically bethesda titles
exmodz file is used with the Icarus Mod Manager. The mod manager will allow it to be merged back into the games files.
Jim, I'm apparently dense, but can't figure out how to get a mod installed that's the "EXMODZ" (like your puck light mod) into the game?
Hey, did you manage to install the EXMOD file?
I also can not understand, I did not find it in the "Icarus mod manager" in the downloads.
@@Bac.Bac. I did not.
What worked for me, and I don't know if this is the way he intended, is if you extract the EXMODZ file contents and put it in the main directory of IcarusModManager. I used 7-zip for this. Afterwards it will show up in the icarus mod manager under the list of extracted mods.
To further clarify it seems that EXMODZ have two folders within the archive, Extracted Mods folder and a mod specific folder. You'll want to make sure that both folders go into the same directory that your IcarusModManager.exe is. After restarting the mod manager the mods show up in the list and can be installed as normal. Hope this helps!
@@bencunningham2611 Thank you very much, it works 👍🏻
I can see how to convert JSONs into EXMODZs now, but how do I do the reverse? The mods I have been making until now have involved looking at similar mods and using that to determine which JSONs to edit.
If you right click your mod in IMM you will see an option to create EXMODZ file.
@@jimk7221 Thank you for the quick reply. I see the option to "Create zipped exmod file" in IMM. What I need is a way to extract or unpack the contents of an EXMODZ file. Can IMM do this or is there a different tool that I should be using?
Jim maybe a stupid question but regarding Icarus, can you like have one Version with no mods and another with Mods? something similar to Dayz, like you can play vanilla or Modded and have the choice?
You would just remove the pak file from the mods folder and run game for normal and then just add the pak file back in to the folder to run modded. The mods don’t change any of the game files. It just adds a pak file in the mods folder that the game will load last and overwrite current values when ran.
@@jimk7221 Thank you
Can you explain how to get custom puck lights?
I have the mod but am confused with word "consumed"
Once the mod is added to game you will see in the workshop that the storage chest has been replaced with a chest full of led lights. You would add this to you character and then when you drop down to the surface you would right click the chest and select consume. This will open the chest and give you the led lights from the chest.
@@jimk7221 Thanks, but that sounds above my smart level. Out of all your mods, I really enjoy "Easy Cave".
