This is a step by step how to of me exporting 3d model from Icarus and into blender, then modifying it and exporting it to UE4. I then cook the model to add to a new mod. Once this is complete I edit the games aquarium uasset file using UassetGUI. Finally shows the result in game.     clearly im missing something although been following to the letter XD when i download any of the mods they do not go into the Extracted list at all i have to manually import each one i already downloaded through the Extract a mod from folder. i send the list into the mod folder VIA the install all listed mods... puts a IMM.pak file in there that doesnt load anything into my game.

      @@TCxjamesFALLEN Your using IMM ver 2.2.6? And downloading the mods from inside IMM using the downloads tab? Are you double clicking then or selecting and then clicking download?

      @ on the newest Imm and I click download along the right side of the screen under its picture. It does put them into IMM folder but not into the extracted mods folder to show up in the IMM. Not sure if I unchecked an option on the setting or.

    What do you use to compare files from update to update? I use WinMerge to see difference between data folder i have stored(that i use as basis for making mod and keep it separate, in case i fuck up something) and updated one that Mod Manager pulls. Then using Compare plugin for Notepad++ to see specific changed in individual files. Make notes of changes in each file i am interested in and then do changes to my mod files. Maybe there is a better way.

      @@sjent IMM created a mod file called weekly changes which extracts all the changes for all the json files and puts them all into one file called This_Weeks_Changes. You may need to enable it in IMM settings.

    Hey, this mod just broke in of the latest updates. It breaks the water canisters in-game. Will you be able to fix it?

      @@xtobias2942 just tested and everything seems fine. Make sure you re merged your mods after the update.

    I only really have 1 question with this. When I press the Update Database or the Refresh local files button. Is it downloading those images and such onto my machine and if so. Say im done playing the game. Where are they saved for me to delete them??

      @@simple3794 everything is in the IMM folder. Once you run it and have several mods you can see all the folders and what’s in them.

      @@STRICKERSAN The planters are props for the exotic dirt. You will have to craft that and place that in there. It crafted on the player.

    Incredible mods and manager. Thank you. I think your to the point explanations and descriptions are on point in this video. Thank you. One question.. if I'm to go back to playing a unmodded server, it's just a matter of removing the mods with the remove all mods from game button in launcher?

      @@luckyarlo7807 yea. I would not do that if your in the middle of missions and if you use a stack mod, those amounts go back to default stack sizes and you loose the items that don’t fit in the inventories. Any building mods will have their buildings removed but the items(benches ect..) will still all be there suspended in mid air. I usually have a modded open world and an unmodded open world and that way there never is issues.

      @@jimk7221 Second question... We are having issues with seeing proper icon images and names of modded items within our game, but only by the non-hosts of a game. For example, when I was handed the compound bow from your mod with the scope on it, I could pick it up and use it, but the icon appeared to be a wooden door. Also, non-host are not able to equip the backpack or armor from your Kryptic camo kit mod. My friend (the host) is wearing a set of armor in our game, but I am unable to see it on him on my screen. Is this a familiar issue? Do you have a discord where I could troubleshoot this problem there? Thanks in advance.

      @ you need to all share the same pak file. This is what happens when playing with others that have different mods installed. Everyone should have only 1 pak file in the mods folder and it has to be the same file.

      @@jimk7221 Thank you for the response. To fix, we did 2 things at the same time, so I don't know which was the solution. First, we verified that we were using the same mods, (We were) Then made sure they were loading in the same order. (They were not) (We know from experience in other games that this can be an issue) The other thing we noticed is that we had both the Better Glass and Glass Buildables loaded. (From the description of Glass Buildables, it stated that it already had Better Glass incorporated into it, so we figured that may be a conflict) So we removed Better Glass. Boom everything works. PS, my buddy said, if you could get the bear to swing at an enemy while it's standing, he would give you money, hehe!! But for real, Thanks for the great mods, we are highly enjoying playing them!

    Added the Barn Buildables using IMM (have Steel Buildables and Elevators installed as well). I can get the elevators to work like I was expecting, but cannot find where the barn or steel builables are (I looked in the carpentry bench for the barn items, but nothing there) Where do I find these please

    thank you so much for this. but I had a question so I'm sure the answer is no but is it possible to install a mod on imm from nexus mods theres a specific mod on their I wanna use but I don't know if i have to use a mod manager for it. I haven't been using one for it and it runs just fine but if I'm using imm would I have to only use imm or would it be ok to do both sorry for the long comment lol

      @@joshuaarmstrong2650 It depends on what files the mod contains. If the mod is released/updated each week, you should be able to add it to IMM using the Extract Mod from PAK File button. Once extracted into IMM in most cases you will not have to ever re download or add to IMM. You would just re merge it into your game each week using IMM.

    Thanks for the Tutorial vids! Although been having problems with some mods. Some mods just do not craft/smelt/cook certain items. Example, unable to cook any type or food, or get ores to smelt into ingots, one open world save, was unable to craft a composite bow from a foundry. The craft starts then just sits there burning the fuel but no output is generated

      @@josephkipple9082 yea pak mods have to be from the current week. I created the exmod format that contains only the modified entries so they last through many updates without issues. But Pak files need to be from the current game week.

    All of the mods I downloaded are showing in the IMM folder with the .exe file which is on my desktop, however none are showing in the IMM Extraced Mods area. What have I done wrong haha

      @@harrymcdowell294 the desktop is a windows regulated folder I would recommend creating a folder on a second drive or outside of any windows folder for the best results. Once you download the mods from inside IMM you will see them added to the list on far left. You can then double click the ones you want to merge into the games files and they will be added to the second list from left. Once you have added the mods you want to play with to that list, click the button at the top to merge them and add to the game. Once it says they have been added to the game you’re all set to launch the game and play.

      @@benboitnott1828 There is easier ways of doing that. The game has many modifiers. You could just add the modifiers to a backpack that contain the same modifiers as the solo talents.

    thank you so much for the work you do. i really appreciate the mod manager and mods. quick question as i am new to this, do you need to inject /install the mods and run the mod manager every time to boot the game?

      @@dread4353 No. make sure IMM is not running when you update the game through steam. After the game is fully updated then run IMM and re merge the mods adding them to the game and your all set. So only after updates.

      @@mikespietzack6943 EXMODZ use my Icarus Mod Manager. They are file type that doesn’t need updated every week as it only contains the changes for the mod. But because of this you need a program to merge those changes back into the games files. That’s what IMM does. Also placing more than 1 pak file in your mods folder can cause mods to not work as Icarus can only load 1 version of each file, so if mods modify the same file they won’t work. That’s why IMM was developed to allow you to merge multiple mods into 1 pak file.

    Hi thank you so much for making this! Im having trouble when I double click/download the mods, that theyre not going into the extracted mods on the right side of the manager. Ive been trying everything Im so lost :(

      @@Kai081 When you download the mods they go in the far left list. If you want to add them to the game you double click them in that far left list and they will go to the merge list. Once you have added the ones you want to merge and add to game just click the button at the top of that list to merge and they will be merged and added to the game. This allows you to have a list of avail mods that are downloaded and ready and you can choose what mods to add to the game.

      @@jimk7221 They are saying when you go to download mods and exit out of that window, those mods are not in the far left list of extracted mods. They are also not saving in the icarus mod folder if you were to check it from your button on the left side. Instead they are saving in the new folder that is created for the IMM with the application to run

    RUclipss not letting me reply to you. (You have a discord I can reach you at?) I have a 4TB M.2 for all my gaming stuff. IMM is installed there "G:\Icarus Mod Manager" also is it still "G:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Icarus\Icarus\Content" for mods folder?

      @@jimk7221 So when I hit "Check for IMM Updates" It says "You have latest version". I think that might be why its not working for me, because when you do it in the video it looks like it creates the IMM_Merged_Mod_P. You have a link to an older version I can update from?

    So I did what you said in the video, but my Icarus mods folder is empty. I don't have a IMM_Merged_Mod in the folder and I keep getting "Last Merged List not found!" error. I have downloaded a few mods but I can't see them in the left list.

      @@kristianmay7246 I’ve been testing other things on a discarded server and even without mods I’ve witnessed a boar doing the same thing. Vibrating and then when I got close it started to float up into the air. I feel this is most likely a game bug that happens on dedicated servers.

    I even tried creating a new mod, like you show, to get more points per level, talent, blueprint and solo, i managed to finally get the json validated correctly, but i still run into the same error as before.       You have valid JSON but it is not compatible with extracted Icarus mods. You have added the default section of the json file which is the section at top. You dont need that and its not formatted correctly. Remove that entire section.       @@PowerZhea I just tested it again without issue. You copy and replaced all the text in the file. When are you getting the error?

      @@jimk7221 Yes i copy paste it all, in between the [], then i right click on re-extract to json and then i get the error.     When i re-extract, i get an error: Access violation at address 009AC1C7. I get the same error, if i just try to install this mod

      @@PowerZhea that error means there is improper json in your mod. You can open the file in an online json validator and it should tell you where the issue is.

    I love the video, and it made me get the IMM. However the mods i use, when i merge, i get to choose, could u make a small video, explaining the merge process when u gotta choose? I could edit this message, and tell u the mods i use, with IMM. So u get the same merge options, i get.

    I have a dedicated server at home. How do I add mods? I have to add them to the server and each of us has to have the mods installed on their computer to use them? If someone joins the server and doesn't have the mods, what happens? Because we've got one of our players who's not very good with computers...

      I'm running my own server on a spare PC as well. What I'm doing is using Mod Manager to compile the mod file and install it to my game. Open the mods folder, and copy the merged mod file to the mod folder on the game server. I also post the same file to a cloud drive, which I shared with a friend who plays. He downloads that and pops it into his game mod folder. This way we both have the same version of the merged mod file that's installed on the server. Works great. We were separately compiling our own mods initially, but would get mismatches that caused all sorts of random problems.

      I succeeded, I don't know which of these 2 options worked, but I opened my game, set Icarus to English, closed everything, reopened the program (the mods were still not in the left column), downloaded the mods one by one again and this time it worked. So either the game has to be in English or you have to try a 2nd time. Interestingly, I noticed that the first time the mods were in the /Icarus_Mod_Manager_2_2_6 folder and not in the /Icarus_Mod_Manager_2_2_6\Extracted_Mods folder where they should have been. There's also an empty /Icarus_Mod_Manager_2_2_6\Extracted Mods folder. Perhaps this folder with this space is also the problem. Anyway, the mods are now in the correct folder /Icarus_Mod_Manager_2_2_6\Extracted_Mods and they now appear in the left-hand column. 
PS: there's still a copy of the mods in the /Icarus_Mod_Manager_2_2_6 folder, I think I can delete them.

    modmanager so easy to use. works well on my local pc. I have tried to install the same mods files on to my dedicated server. I can’t get it to work..

    First off great mod. But I cant find any support links. Do you have a discord? My issue is that I installed the teleporter which I have used for a while and the storage mod. The teleporter I had previously researched, but it seems to have reset? I have to spend the 1000 and 650 again?

    Hi Jim, question on hk 417 rifle, how do you switch between semi and full auto? I was using full auto by default and I must have hit the toggle key, but can't find it to dave my life.. Lol thanks, best weapon I've seen yet!

      @@CocoaBeachLiving I believe it defaults to coma. They changed the game when they released their assault rifle. They removed the option to select the key assignment for it.

    Your mods /mod manager makes Icarus so much more enjoyable! I recently started using the full auto HK 417 and my god, what a game changer! Thank you 😊😊 I'm working through null sector missions, what a difference. Seems to me the devs should be contracting your services 🤔🤔. Is there a way to toggle semi vs full auto mode?

      It used to be coma by default. The DEVS removed that option to change it when they released their Assault_Rifle Some people have said that coma(,) will still work.

    Could you add sorting to mods list? Like by the date of update or filtering out obsolete mods?

      Old PAK mods are filtered out by default. If you click the top of the columns they will sort by that method.

    Great work on all you do for us Icarus players Jim. I was wondering if it is possible to make a "light rain / thunderstorm" mod or add a switch on your custom settings UI. I like the thought of working by the cozy fire or cooking up some grub inside , with the sound of rain and thunder outside, maybe even seeing it trickle down the greenhouse glass, but isn't chaotic and ripping trees and buildings down and sending hellfire upon all of our hard earned structures. I am no where close to a modder so this may be way more work than it's worth. Just a thought as I am a casual/cozy Icarus player and many of your mods have helped me achieve that. If something like this is possible I would be happy to donate towards such a mod if it isn't a crazy ask. Either way, keep up the awesome work, I appreciate and download pretty much every mod you make.
