78-year-old Grandma here. A lot of us who are just becoming familiar with you listened to these songs 24/7. Just hop in the car (oftentimes our parents' car, unbeknownst to them!), roll down the windows, spin the radio dial and listen to music from the '60s, '70s and '80s (actually from the 1950s, too, for me) ... where the dial landed was playing every genre you could imagine. I think that's why a lot of us seek out young folks like you...the joy and wonder and amazement on your faces takes us back to the first time WE heard these songs! Watching these channels is just like rediscovering "our" music for the first time. Thank you!
One of my favorite lyrics: Now, some they do and some they don’t And some you just can’t tell And some they will and some they won’t With some it’s just as well Thanks for a great choice and discussion, Shon.
I stole this Lp from my Mom the first week she got it and I played it on repeat for weeks 😂 Give a little bit is great too. Great reaction as usual my friend and Peace out ✌️ ☮️ 🙏
One of their best if not THE best! And, a great reaction! You nailed the meaning of the lyrics (it helps to have them!), which a lot of reactors miss.... and that "outtro." I've been loving that for over 50 years!
They were absolutely genius with lyrics and the effects and the music and the mix and the nuances. Their albums were true works of art. Glad you are enjoying their music. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you're liking Supertramp. Some other song to check out from them: Take The Long Way Home, Give A Little Bit, Ain't Nobody But Me, Bloody Well Right and my personal favorite, Gone Hollywood. All of these songs are fantastic.
I'm 47, born in 77. When i got in the 90's i started digging 60's 70's and i'm still listening to a lot of these songs. Timeless. Supertramp is a band to dig, they have tons of good songs. S$%t load. Try a Greatest Hits for an hour of your life, you won't regret it.
I couldn't wait to see your face when he started singing the, Goodbye Stranger its been nice part! So cool!! Another wonderful song!!! SO fun! Such memories!
I was 21 when their album "Breakfast in America" was released on March 16, 1979. I must say your analysis of the song "Goodbye Stranger" is simply astounding! I am glad I subscribed to your channel, you are an intelligent and charming young man. I love your reactions videos.
Your insight into this song was Incredible. I'm 47 today. I've heard this song at least 200 times since I was a kid. I Never thought of it this way.... it was just part of my childhood. You spinned this song on it's ear for me. Now I'm looking at it in a Brand New Way. Thank you for that!🤟
I felt just like you Shon, when I first heard this. I was around 13 years old when it came out and I never heard anything like it before! Had to wait for it to come back on the Radio and I immediately taped it on my Mum and Dad's Stereo Cassette Player. Ha ha!! Still gives me goosebumps when I hear it.
Roger Hodgson sang the falsetto part, you should check out his amazing solo tune “Had a Dream (Sleeping with the Enemy),” released after he left Supertramp.
I knew you would love this, brother! I absolutely love your reactions because you never try to put on a show or act like anyone else. You’re authentic. Just be the best you you can be. That’s all. Much love from Florida . 😉
Some they do. Some they don't. Some you just can't tell. Some they will. Some they won't. And some it's just as well. Imo, one of the best lyrics ever.
I remember my aunt babysitting my sister and me when I was maybe 5 or 6 and she had just got this album when it came out. She put it on and we just had a blast dancing around the house to this song. Good times!
I saw and heard many, but you are the best, man ! It is a pleasure to see and hear your enthousiast reactions on Good Music. Thanks and proceed this. Taje xare, greetz from Belgium 😊
Rick Davies (writer/singer) said its all a metaphor about the time he was trying to quit smoking pot (“Goodbye Mary. Goodbye Jane”). Said he smoked so much that he had become a stranger to himself. He was saying goodbye to his old-self.
I’m not a musician. All I can do is express what I feel deep from my soul. I don’t get help from todays music/songs, like I do from my generations. Might be unfair as I’m biased. But this song helped me through those difficult years.
I would like to see you check out a band that no one is reacting to. That is Shooting Star. They were a rock band in the 70s and 80s and their second album 'Hang On For Your Life' had at least 5 songs that got major airplay back then. I would start with either "Flesh and Blood" or "Hollywood". Other songs that got airplay were "Breakout", "Teaser" and "Are You on My Side". I enjoy your reactions to older music.

Same here!
The Album Breakfast in America is a gem 💎🫶🏻
You grokked it immediately. Well done. Subscribe, upvote, whatever. Kudos.
A brilliant album. The album can be read as a debate between the two singers. The counterpoint to this song is "Take the Long Way Home."
Depth in this analysis.
I second “Take the Long Way Home “😁
Supertramp never fades ... it brings joy immediately
I love how you always get the song. Lyrically and musically, you always get it
When that whistle comes in, it gets me every time! He doesn’t have a care in the world!!
My thoughts exactly! I picture him ambling away, hands in pockets and whistling 😂
One of my favorite lyrics:
Now, some they do and some they don’t
And some you just can’t tell
And some they will and some they won’t
With some it’s just as well
Thanks for a great choice and discussion, Shon.
I’ve always loved the whistling towards the end, it reallly punches home that he doesn’t have care in the world.
Crime of the century, breakfast in America…..great music!

Love Supertramp
One of the best guitar solos of all time.
I still have this album. You can't beat the feel you get from the original vinyl.
Supertramp is one of the best and most creative groups. Besides ELO, this band really took a lot of risks with their sound. And so many amazing songs.
One of their best if not THE best! And, a great reaction! You nailed the meaning of the lyrics (it helps to have them!), which a lot of reactors miss.... and that "outtro." I've been loving that for over 50 years!

Every song on Breakfast in America is FIRE!
Never gets old.
Love your reactions!!!
Spot on!
I think
You’re the best reactor out there.
You’ve only scratched the surface of Supertramp
this guy is so good with his insight with a first reaction blows me away 5 stars
Dude you figured it out in a hot minute! Outro is amazing! 🔥
My favorite by them
Definitely a winner great reaction and observations
Killer outro...love it
“Master Musicianship”
Please stay with the SuperTramp train ❤️

Good bye Mary good bye Jane, makes me wonder if there is another meaning to this song
I couldn't wait to see your face when he started singing the, Goodbye Stranger its been nice part! So cool!! Another wonderful song!!! SO fun! Such memories!
I knew you'd love it!!!!🥰🥰🥰
This performed live was amazing.
Great song and the best guitar outro ever! 💥💥💥
Breakfast is IMMACULATE. Front to back. Still got my OG vinyl. Nice one SHON ☘️

I used this as a break up song. Cued up the cassette(yes cassette) and gave him his keys and told him to push play on the way home
I was gonna say that was cold....but I've done worse😅😅😅
Mad respect for you
The one night stans song 😆
I had their albums back in the day. That guitar player is a Jedi Master.
Super Tramp one of the greats 👍 Peace ✌️ and Love ❤️ Gary 😊 good reaction 😄
One gen after another. Love how you love this tune!
Awesome song, awesome reaction!
“Dreamer” is my favorite Supertramp song. But this is a close second.
I knew you would love this, brother! I absolutely love your reactions because you never try to put on a show or act like anyone else. You’re authentic. Just be the best you you can be. That’s all. Much love from Florida . 😉
Love supertramp. This was one of there best. Great reaction shon.
Some they do. Some they don't. Some you just can't tell. Some they will. Some they won't. And some it's just as well.
Imo, one of the best lyrics ever.
Up there close to "Dark Side of the Moon", "Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy", "Year of the Cat" in terms of lyrics.
*You would love the whole album, NO CAP!!! Check it out!*
🇬🇧
Im 60, so of course ive heard of Supertramp, but i haven't heard this song before. This is a definite playlist! Loved it. ❤🔥
In those days (when this was recorded), there was no internet or cell phones, so it was easier to become disconnected from people you met.
I already know you will love this.
Great reaction my friend, 45 years ago I had the same reaction.
I remember my aunt babysitting my sister and me when I was maybe 5 or 6 and she had just got this album when it came out. She put it on and we just had a blast dancing around the house to this song.
Good times!
❤❤❤ Love this song! Check out “Bloody Well Right” by Supertramp next.
Great reaction to an epic song! Love me some Supertramp, been listening for years. It was great to see your take on a classic.
Great reaction! Other Supertramp epics you may enjoy - Rudy and Hide in your shell are two of my faves. Cheers.
I saw and heard many, but you are the best, man ! It is a pleasure to see and hear your enthousiast reactions on Good Music. Thanks and proceed this. Taje xare, greetz from Belgium 😊
You reacted to the Jackson Browne song Liad Out/Stay which also had a good falsetto part sung by the late David Lindley.
Great reaction Shon!
the whole album could be on a playlist. it's just that good!
The Tramp. Period.
I think one of their best songs, thanks Shon.
You are a smart dude with a good ear.
That second verse, "some they do and some they don't... etc" really says a lot. One of my favorite lyrics of all time.
Dougie is on of the most underrated bassists ever
Rick Davies (writer/singer) said its all a metaphor about the time he was trying to quit smoking pot (“Goodbye Mary. Goodbye Jane”). Said he smoked so much that he had become a stranger to himself. He was saying goodbye to his old-self.
This album is iconic!
Can't miss with Supertramp!!!
Their best song, IMO
I played this to death on my car cassette and I still have my vinyl record of "Breakfast in America". Loved that album
haha this is a jam...a lot of great 70's rock to hear my guy
Rick Davis was the lead singer/pianist/songwriter in Supertramp. Fabulous band!!!
*Davies (please forgive me 🙂)
This song is hard, and the band is hard.
These guys were top tier musicians at the highest level possible ! Trust me when I tell you Supertramp is tattooed on my body !
I love when I’m cruising and this song comes on ❤️
I was best to see them live while I was in high school. They are one of the few bands that sound the same live as in studio. ✌️😎
If you want to experience the sheer genius of Supertramp's music and lyrical messages check out Fool's Overture.
Love Supertramp❤
I forgot all about this album! My parents had a huge collection and this was one of them. ❤
This band alike to pink floyd they have their own type music that is great ! Great voice !
Vocals by Roger Hodgson !! ✌👍💯
Thanks Shon.
This was the first 8 trac tape I ever bought, and I played the shit out of it.
Great reaction ,I had similar thoughts
I was 8 when my parents bought this album, amazing start to finish but the first song that got scratched from over playing was this tune.
I’m not a musician. All I can do is express what I feel deep from my soul. I don’t get help from todays music/songs, like I do from my generations. Might be unfair as I’m biased. But this song helped me through those difficult years.
❤ Supertramp, Thanks Shon. 🤗
Child of Vision last song on this album is top 5 all time. 👍
Next recommended Supertramp song: “Bloody Well Right”
Open road music...wide open, pedal to the metal! Pair with "Let it Ride" by BTO and "I Can't Wait" by Stevie Nicks.
Some they will and some they won’t…..and some it’s just as well 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I've been waiting for you to react to this song!!

Last Chance!!
I forgot about that one!@@suzieredfoxfur6982
This song is really about giving up weed.
Tell me more.
Why would he call weed a stranger?
Why mention all the ladies?
🔥🔥🔥
Put on your seat belt.............LOL Here we go !
Dreamer by supertramp
Grew up listening to this music and thought great music was just normal, now I know otherwise.
