    Ho torto it's a real thing? some italian speaker can tell me this? because in spanish for example you never say ( Avere: "wrong") in that case you use To-Be wrong. "Estoy Equivocado" y se traduce a "mi sbaglio" could somebody give me an example of when you use "Ho Torto"

    • @ZauberinNini
      @ZauberinNini 2 года назад +1

      Hi Micka, as an italian native speaker I can tell you that since in italian there is no To-Be wrong use, we use the verb To-have wrong (avere torto).for example: credevo di conoscerlo ma avevo torto= I thought I knew him but I was wrong
      Other example: chi ha torto e chi ha ragione? = who's wrong and who's right?
      Here's an idiomatic expression: avere torto marcio= to be dead wrong; "marcio" in Italian means "rotten" so if you say : hai torto marcio you're really making a statement here:)
      You can also more commonly say: mi sbaglio= I'm mistaken OR
      ho sbagliato= I was mistaken
      You may also say:
      Ho fatto/commesso uno sbaglio/errore= I made/committed a mistake/error
      I hope it was helpful, enjoy learning Italian, Ciao 🙋🏻‍♀️

    I have a feeling that the releases of the videos aren't well planned, since sometime I heard our dear Dave referencing videos that aren't out yet (or maybe i just missed them)

    • @ProfessorDaveExplains
      @ProfessorDaveExplains  6 лет назад +5

      No, everything is planned immaculately. If I reference something with the implication that it's been covered, then it can be found earlier in the Italian playlist.

    • @LEKSANDER01

      It is about temperature not sickness, "ho caldo" is stating that you are hot and "ho freddo" states that you are cold.

    Umm H is aspirated in avere. It's not silent. Like rolled Rs, this is a clear sign of non-native speakers.
    For the purposes of learning, you can definitely just say it's silent and move on as the difference is very faint, but a native will tell the difference. With pronunciation (IPA) key "ho": /ɔ/ and "o": /o/. Plug these into an IPA key reader and you can tell the difference.

    • @ProfessorDaveExplains
      @ProfessorDaveExplains  3 года назад +2

      I don't know if you're talking about some obscure regional dialect, but the way I pronounce it is precisely how every Italian I've ever met pronounces it.

    • @Metruzanca
      @Metruzanca 3 года назад +1

      @@ProfessorDaveExplains it might very well be that in Emilia romagna it's more "pronounced". It could also be a sort of placebo effect on my brain and I'm just wrong here as after checking treccani h only seems to be aspirata in certain expressions.
      While I have your attention, wasn't expecting a reply. Also wasn't expecting you to be Italian and was genuinely surprised. Adoro il tuo canale, anche se lo guando solo a sprazzi. Ma ritornò spesso a guardare i tuoi video sulla terra piatta che mi fanno muorire del ridere.
