Arrma Kraton 6s V3 "Beef factor" How to build a Beast, upgrades and setup tips...

- This is a rundown of upgrades, set-up, and tips for taking your Arrma 6s to the next level of durability and performance. By no means is it the only way, but it's the same path I've used on all my Arrma's and it's proven effective. These rigs are very capable and durable bone stock. For regular hard or more extreme bashing, upgrades come in handy and I've found what works for me. Bumper and skid plate are an absolute must IMHO. Chassis supports are another first upgrade. The rest is more for maximum beef factor with durability gains. Huge shout out to Voltage Hobbies for making incredible upgrades!!!
Thanks to Stephane Z for the reminder about rod ends 😨!!! Forgot to mention I upgrade the shock rod ends to Tekno TKR6140B and TKR5049A when the stock ones let go 😲😲. UPDATE 👀.... Been running the M2C Goliath Series 7075 chassis for months since after this videos release 💪. No need for tower bracing with the M2C chassis upgrade. Use the m2ccoupon for 20% off all purchases 👍. Part# M2C3000.
What do you think would be the best charger for 6s batteries that have a XT-90 connectors?
Cooper Holt you can get charger leads for cheap at any LHS with XT-90 connectors. The charger is really up to you. Doesn't need to come with certain connectors. As long as it is 6s capable with enough amps for your needs.🍻😎💪👊👊
@@richduperbash2966 4500mah 11.1v 30c lipo flourien battery now mind you its been through 2 esc's lol I cant get it to charge past 3.75.3.78/79 volts ? An also when i put it in my rustler 4x4 with a vxl3s an a off brand 3300kv brushless motor I got like 2 min an it was flashing red slowly on the esc an when i put it on charge it was at 3.60 somthing ish. Any advice is greatly appreciated man thanks. An I subd great vid very informative.
@@rsracing-mb1tr I'm not sure, but I'm wondering if your charger is set on balance storage charge 🤔 cuz those are storage charge voltages. High voltage cutoff ESC settings wouldn't give you much run time at 3.7 volts. They should charge to 4.20 volts per cell. 😎💪👊👊
@@richduperbash2966 I don't think it is I had my thunder ac6 charger on balance charge. thanks man
You are the ultimate armma basher I'm gonna enjoy this video thanks buddy
Kevin Talbot thanks so much Kevin 👊!!! Truly appreciate it bud. Hope the info is helpful 👌. Cheers and happy bashing brother.🍻🤘🤘😰😰😰😎💪👊👊
Mark Curac thanks for the kind words Brother 😂!!! I hope the vid is helpful and you enjoy building up your Kraton BEAST 😨🤘🤘😰😰😰😎💪💪💪👊👊
Awesome kev! Joining the madness :)
You can't shake a stick at Rich's skill,Kevin lol
Kevin Talbot coming from you that is high praise. ❤️ your channel mate. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for all the great info,I just donated to Amain for fire and saw your donation to. Good man, it's great to see everyone coming together!!
Dirt Berger thanks Brother 😂!!! We gotta support are RC brothers and sisters. I'm sure AMain is doing everything they can to help their friends and co-workers, too👊. Great company with really good people.👌🤘🤘😎💪👊👊
Great video. I just bought one of these for Central Park. I draw crowds of families who are amazed to see a car backflip.
Well thanks to you, I've bought a Kraton and just ordered all the Voltage Hobbies upgrades except the towers (gotta save something to get later). I've been watching all your vids. You're truly the sickest basher on the planet I've found so far! I enjoy the bashing and reviews and tips on how to work on the rigs! Thanks bro
I picked up one used. Broke somthing the first run. Best thing that could have happened. I learned how to fix it myself, got into upgrades and now enjoy working on, and running them equally
That's AWESOME my friend 😊!!!! Some people become angry when parts break and make global assertions about the brand. I try to learn from breakages 🤔. To me it's just part of the hobby. Wrenching is very gratifying 😍. Really appreciate your comment. 🍻👍👍😎💪👊👊
Thank you so much Dupe! Appreciate all you do for the hobby brother
Thanks so much Brother 👊!!!! Glad to hear this upload is still helpful 🤗. I still standby the basic core upgrades and the full beefcake parts for frequent extreme bashing. Biggest change is the emergence of M2C Racing in the ARRMA bashing scene 😍. You really don't need a tower to tower brace with the Goliath Series chassis 💪. It was the best upgrade of 2019 hands down and all I'll use now. Prevents so many collateral issues. 🍻😎💪👊👊
Excellent vid and excellent advice on "Owning it".
It's amazing what these cars can survive when you get them dialed in.
Trent Marlowe thanks so much Trent 👊!!! You said it Brother, it truly is amazing what these cars can survive 😨🤘🤘😵😵😵😎💪💪💪👊👊
Many thanks to this channel. I have a stout kraton 6s v4 now, thankful to have these insights to keep the car running and less time on the bench!
Very helpful tips, I find you and
Tp-Parts Rc-Xtreme (but not just limited to you, obviously) very helpful to the rc community, both your running vids, the walkthroughs on builds and maintenance, all inspirational, and help get us newbs up to speed. Plus, most of the time you guys take time out to respond to us, to lend additional help when asked (thanks to all the rest of you who do the same).
Great video Rich. I love the garage tips and tricks for the Arrma's. TP is awesome as well.I never miss any of both your videos.
What’s up Rich I just bought my Frist Arrma and I’ve been watching your channel on RUclips for a while now I just want to say your channel is AWESOME I you have a lot of info and I’m learning a lot THANK YOU SO MUCH maybe one day I’ll be able to ride like you lol 👍
Thanks so much Brother 🤗. Huge Congrats on your first ARRMA 😱. Really appreciate your kind words Brother. Glad the tips have been helpful. These rigs have Killer potential 🍻👍👍😎💪👊👊
From then till now.
2 months ago I had no Rc cars.
Now I have 3
1/16 mini revo VXL
1/10 slash VXL slash 2 wd
1/10 Rustler 4X4 crawler motor.
Watching you helped make my fun become a thing.
For that. Pat yourself on the back bro. You deserve it. ❤️👊😎
Glad I stumbled across this video once again. Will be adding some of these upgrades. Hurry up Arrma on the new lineup.
Thanks Rich for sharing!
Amen to no indestructible rc, broken lots of parts myself, also love fixing them. Great video. Thanks for all the advice.
Thanks John 🤗!!!! I love tuning and fixing too 😍. It's most of my RC time after all. The driving part is the delayed satisfaction. Appreciate it Brother. 🍻😎💪👊👊
Hey man just wanted to give you a proper thanks for all the great videos and rc knowledge. Your videos inspired me to get into rc. Your an inspiration to alot of folks. Keep sending it bro!!!
Thanks so much Brother 🤗. Truly appreciate it. Merry Christmas 🎄🍻😎💪👊👊
Rich I tell you man you help the rc community out so much with information..its crazy its not many willing to give away info thanks so much rich .big big shout out to rich for all you do for us arrma guys thanks rich once again.
The owning your mistakes and laughing them off is super important. I use to bash with a guy who would get all pissed off and say he was done with the hobby every time he broke something and it would take away from the fun everyone else was having.
Just killer information Rich! You’re a really good dude for sharing this kind of details and information! Thank you so much brother, I know I really listen up and appreciate it. The diff builds you do have taught me a ton! Keep on bro. 🍻🧰🏎🚀
Thanks so much Brother 🤗!!!! I know all the upgrades aren't for everyone, but they've truly worked great for me 👍. My hope was this would be helpful for those looking to go beefcake 👀. Really appreciate the kind words Bro!!! 🍻🤘🤘😎💪👊👊
Thanks for sharing all your tips and know-how for making the awesome Arrma vehicles even awesomer! That road jump at the end was INSANE. 👍🏻👊🏻👍🏻👊🏻💣💥💀
RedBeard RC thanks so much brother 😂!!! Hope it's helpful. I'm hoping to rake out a better run up for the road jump and flip the street next time 🍻😎💪👊👊
I'm so glad to see this video from you I was looking through the diff beef up your kraton vids and no one would know as good as you man your content is awsome I just got the v5 kraton rtr love it so for all I got so far is rpm front skit bumper and wheelie bar and rear skid anything I'm missing
Wow I'm not buying all that yet I don't even jump like you not even close so do you think I still need the 2 chassis supports and since I got v5 will I need to get servo mount the one in it looks beegy
@@Tuidkskiwjdhdbd hey Ryan 🤗. Sorry I missed your comment 👀. Yes....all 6s rigs need aluminum chassis braces, for harder bashing anyways. 🍻😎💪👊👊
Thanks rich
You're the best rich.
I have 3 arrma's I wish they was look like your.
You are my mentor bro.
benny briga thanks so much brother 😂!!! That's very kind of you to say👊. Happy bashing my friend. 🤘🤘😅😅😅😎💪👊👊
ohh yeah the legend has another vids. saving this for future upgrades. thanks rich
kimpee orais you bet brother 👊!!! Much appreciated and happy bashing 👌🤘🤘😰😰😰😎💪👊👊
Awesome informative video especially for a newb like me with a V3 Kraton! Also I didn’t realize you were here in Sac! Thanks for all the great info!
Brian Steeg thanks so much Bro 😂!!! Hope it's helpful. See you out there sometime. 🍻🤘🤘😎💪👊👊
Something which is just a routine maintenance item that is worth looking into is the bearings you use, the stock ones aren’t sealed, you can see straight through them, and if you buy them individually they are fairly expensive, I put a set of sealed bearings from an Australian company Plaig Bearings, they fitted beautifully, and upgrade the stock steering bushes too, the kit wasn’t expensive either.
R Soul thanks brother 😂!!! I had my Avid sealed bearings on the table, but forgot to mention it 😨. I usually get decent life out of the stockers, but upgrade to Avid for all my Arrmas 👊. They're about 1$ per bearing and you can order kits or build your own. I've heard of Plaig Bearings as well. Appreciate it my friend. 🍻🤘🤘😎💪👊👊
Rich Duperbash no worries mate, I’m sure if you wanted to you could probably have made a two hour video on this subject with your attention to detail and experience 👍
Great info brother. Def some much needed upgrades man. What kills me is people wanna bash Arrma cause they are doing crazy jumps but don’t land them then they break and they say Arrma not durable. I don’t know what they expect lol. Awesome video brother👊👊
Kenny mph Melanko thanks so much Kenny 😂!!! Hope this vid helps people make informed hop up choices👊. I hear you about brand bashing and wanting to blame the truck 😲. It can be painful taking ownership when bad things happen😫. I've done it myself only to see clearly in slo-mo later that I broke the damn thing 😨. I've tried to become realistic about what rigs can reasonably handle. Still amazed by the punishment they endure 😱🤘🤘🤘😰😰😰😎💪💪💪👊👊
Excellent video Rich! I like your breakdown of upgrades!
Awesome Vid "Superbash". This will help so many people make a killer bash rig !!!!
Dave Hubbard thanks so much Dave😂!!! I sure hope so Brother. To me this hobby is all about having fun, learning, and helping each other out. 🍻🤘🤘😎💪👊👊
I think I found my RC HERO?Rich Duperbash ! I'm new to the RC hobby and don't know anything about RC short course trucks. I am digging your videos. I have 2 short course trucks arrma senton blx and team associated pro sc both 1:10 scale. I haven't taken them out and really played with them. After watching this video you posted I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos. So I can gain the knowledge I need to repair my trucks. Unfortunately I have to deal with hobby shops that B.S. me and sell me stuff that I now know I could have bought as a complete set. The hobby jerk sold me a battery charger in different pieces. I know this because he took long to get the charger from the back and when he gave them to me it did not have any label's written on anything. Every hobby shop writes what the item is and cost! Anyway sorry for that! Thank you for the video!
Great video Rich! I have been loving that Kraton I got, and appreciate all the help you provide for all of us. Keep up all the great stuff! 🤙🤙
Crespo RC thanks so much Matt 😂!!! Sorry for the late reply. Been having issues with my phone 😨. Glad you're diggin your Kraton 👌. Really appreciate it Brother!!!🍻🤘🤘😅😅😅😎💪👊👊
Sweet upgrades and tips my brother will be going over the kraton before I bring her out appreciate the good advice bro 😎 keep up the great videos and effort 👊
AWESOME rundown Rich! On point for sure with the upgrade advice! I'm like you, I try to only upgrade what's truly needed to fit my bashing style. Some people like to just go a wall nuts with aluminum and It's not even needed. I gotta say, I've learned so much from you over the past 2 years, it's insane! Just want to say Thanks again for answering all my questions in my early ARRMA stage and your great support! It's definitely helped grow me into the hard basher I am today! GREAT vid brother!!😃👊👊👌🤘
Great video brother. Running+wrenching=FUN. Some great info, tips and on point clarification on what this Hobby is all about. Some people needs to realize and understand some of the expectation that comes with this hobby that nothing is indestructible, anything can/will break even (with upgrades) in general Light bashing, more so if you bash Hard!! That is why we Do Upgrades!
For the genaral masses. Piece of advice, Practice makes you BETTER not perfect.
You'll never going to have a perfect landing in every jumps/Flips. Regardless if you're a Pro or beginner. One thing I can tell you, in every Mishaps, bad landing, crashes and breakages makes you a BETTER Basher, Jumper RC driver.
CommanderAstig RC thanks so much Chris👊!!! I definitely think it's important to realize limitations and consider the energy involved with such powerful fast rigs 😨. It's nice to believe they're indestructible, but then there's reality 😲. Some people are unrealistic about what an RC can reasonably handle. I'm still shocked when I totally F up and my rig doesn't break 😱...Lol!!! I truly enjoy wrenching, even doing repairs 👍. Loved your message to the masses 😍. Well said and so true 👌🤘🤘😰😰😰😎💪💪💪👊👊
Nice job bro...arrma tough...that landing at end was brutal...
RCbashing the KRATON thanks so much Brother 👊!!! Hope this vid helps people out. Yeah I muffed the landing on that street jump. Thought I was going to hit the curb and landed rear first on the cement strip between the grass and dirt 😨. It was good for group laugh anyways 😅😅. Kraton took it no problem.🤘🤘😲😲😲😎💪💪💪👊👊
Thanks for sharing, Great video. Getting ready to pick one of these up....you answered a couple questions I had as well as multiple other items that will help in the long run. Very informative and keeping it concise. Rare these days. Much appreciated. Liked and Subscribed.
i just got HR aluminum rocker arms & some OFNA aluminum shock caps & 75mm shocks Springs & went to 3000cst team associate diff fluid in the shocks & proline trencher 40 series for my Arrma BIG ROCK epic video Duper
Awesome upgrades bro and the way you bash definitely need them. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you I just bought a brand new v3 kraton yesterday
i run the pro line shockwaves as well great tire...great video and great tips as well....
Thanks Craig 😊!!!! It's a bummer Proline discontinued them. Think they got too focused on their heavier belted tires. 😎💪👊👊
Great video rich I loved watching this!!! I know for me working on my trucks is sooo much fun. Such nice rigs man!!! 💯💯🔥🔥👍👊
I loved how you said that, sometimes you've just gotta own it!! That's the truth alot of people will tear something up and blame it on something else. Well the truck went this way instead of the other way. Just own it!!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘💪💪💪💪💪💪
Jason Barnhill thanks Jason 👊!!! I've had to own it myself countless times 😵. If you flail at speed or spike it into the ground (or hit a solid object😨) stuff is going to bend and break 😱. Really appreciate it Brother. 🍻🤘🤘😰😰😰😎💪👊👊
I just ordered some chassis braces for my Kraton today, next payday I’ll have to get some more stuff, nothing but a Aarm broke n I did go with rpm upper n lowers, upgraded the tires to the trenchers 40 series, hobbywing hestsink n fan combo, chassis protector. So once stuff fails I’ll get more hop ups or if I got money burning in my pockets 😂
STEVO D 313 that's awesome Steve 😂. Those are all nice upgrades no doubt 👌. I really need to try Trencher 40s sometime. I've bashed next to them with friends and RC Bashing the Kraton swears by them👊. I only upgrade stuff I've broken or badly bent repeatedly. This stuff isn't cheap so choosing what is needed vs wanted is key👌🤘🤘😨😨😨😎💪👊👊
Rich Duperbash I agree on replacing what’s bending or breaking cus ya the cost isn’t so cheap, n the reason I went with the trencher 40 series is they were recommended to me by RCBashing the Kraton n so far I really like them
Fantastic Mods brother going to be tough, great video 👍😊👍
Tonys Rc Tech thanks so much Tony 😂!!! I can firmly attest to these mods😨. They transform the stock Arrma to a different level of durability no doubt. 🍻🤘🤘😰😰😰😎💪👊👊
awesome info, i'm new to the rc hobby and starting off with an wltoys a959b but plan on moving up to the kraton or talion.
your knowledge of upgrades will be very valuable to me. definitely subscribed. rock on dude! 👍😎👍
Thinking to by the kraton ,it will be my first rc car ,hope I will not regret it .
Great vid Rich! Some very solid advise, and well spoken. I couldn’t agree with you more on owning your own breakage. Nothing is indestructible. Some like to blame parts, when it’s all about the fraction of a second where it lands. You can’t see how, but you have to know, it only happened because of how it was being driven! You have sold me on a few good upgrades like the voltage parts, and the tower to tower. I 3D printed some holders for my brace, and use carbon fiber rods for center support. Good flex, and hold strong while being light weight. Looks pretty good too! Thanks for the excellent vid Rich!! 👍👍
Good stuff. I'm pumped to mod my new kraton pick up. Your why I got the arrma.
Hey man. Nice video. A little late to the game, just bought my Arrma Kraton V5. Got some good ideas from your video. But some friendly advise, if you're going to show a bunch of cool afternmarket parts, post the link for said parts in the description.
Thanks Brother 👊. I don't do AdSense with links like several guys do making the hobby a business for themselves. If you want a specific link I'll leave one, otherwise this stuff is all available online with a Google search. 😎💪👊👊
Fantastic video, great upgrades and right to the point. Absolutely love my kraton 😀
Phantom 1080 thanks so much brother 👊!!! Gotta LOVE the Kraton BEAST 😍🤘🤘😎💪👊👊
Great video. It's nice when pro bashers share the information of their rig. 👍👍
Nice vid Rich !! Very informative 😁
I’m with ya on the tower to tower brace 👍🏻👍🏻
CAMO RC !! Thanks Bro🍻!!! I'm been totally lagging on this build 😜. Just wanted to put something up to help people decide on available options 👍. Should have this V3 dialed in soon. 🍻🤘🤘😲😲😲😎💪💪💪👊👊
Love kennys parts .. Rich the kraton is going two be beefed up with all them amazing parts u got love the silver frost towers ...nice job buddy
Lots of wrenchin rich ..just makes ower arrmas 💪
RC RIDER no doubt Brother 💪!!! Voltage is top notch 100%. I wanted raw aluminum, but these frost towers look SICK😨. Love how Kenny put set grub screws on the new front towers to lock in the upper hinge pin bolts👌. Forgot to mention that in the vid 😲. Gotta get this Kraton wrenched and rolling 🍻🤘🤘😅😅😅😎💪👊👊
Nice! 0:23 beautiful landing btw.
Thanks brother 😂!!! Doing a follow-up vid with new M2C Racing 7075 T6 4mm Kraton prototype chassis upgrade 😨🤘🤘😎💪👊👊

Thanks for the great vid.your a huge inspiration to both bashing n beefing up rigs.do you have a video on diff rebuilding?
Thanks Brother 👊!!!! Yes I've put out 2 diff vids up. A really great how to vid is from Thomas P of tpparts-rcxtreme 👌. I owe Thomas for all his wonderful tips on everything Arrma. Class A friend all the way 😊👍👍😎💪👊👊

Great stuff. I'll be getting a Kraton soon though won't run 6s for a very, very long time I suspect. Could you put the parts mentioned into the description so people aren't pausing and rewrinding.
Wendy On don’t be scared, my 4 year old son runs 6s in our Kraton every time, he has pulled backflips, wheelies, jumps, they only go as fast as you pull the throttle 👍
Awesome vid Rich everything you say makes total sense thanks buddy

Love these rigs! Bash on bro👍😎
Love it Rich!! Perfect video for people wondering what to upgrade 👍👍👍 I have quite a few of the same upgrades on my Kraton. Definitely worth the money to beef it up 💪👊 Luckily most of the bashing I do really only requires chassis braces, servo mount and diff tuning. Check out the hobbystar 4082 1600kv next time you need a new motor. I'm really happy with it 👍
Great Lakes RC thanks so much Aaron 😂!!! I'm definitely sold on the 1600👌. Between yours and others positive feedback (and a great experience with the 4092's) definitely gonna try one. Really like the specs on the 4082 1600 😍. Plus it's lighter than the 92👌. Like they say "when too much power is just enough" 😜. Really appreciate the kind words and feedback Brother👊!!! 🍻🤘🤘😨😨😨😎💪💪💪👊👊
Great info and great tips for anyone bashing 👍👍!! Awsome vid!!😎💪🤘
Love it man, I didn't seriously look at getting an arrma until I ran across your channel.. it didnt take long for me to buy a v3 outcast slider and build it from there. I went with HR chassis braces, servo mount, top plate for the center diff and the front center diff mount itself. I dont send it like you and I liked the little extra black look with the milled edges so that's where I went. Definitely stiffened it up and should do fine for what I do .. till I try to duperbash it 😂😂Though HR doesnt have that rear wing mount brace thing that I've seen thats my only complaint.. so I'm probably gonna go with the GKA one and the chassis brace spacers to go with the rear bling 😂. All thanks to you man 👍👍love my outcast with the ezrun combo and proline badlands.. dont think I'm ever getting rid of it!! Some of the best informative and bash content around I say, keep it up brother!!
Thanks and what a great video on upgrading your #v3 #KRATON!
Great video, great advice from a bashing champ.
And that's coming from the boss Rich ❤️✍️👍🇬🇧💎👀

Awesome video Rich and great information there. Only thing I really have left to get my Kraton where I want it is the the motor and esc upgrade. I've ordered a Hexfly Hex8 as well and Hobbystar 4082 1600kv. Can't wait to get it in there and feel the difference in torque and hopefully lower temps. Love the Voltage parts too btw! Kenny makes some beautiful and super tough upgrades for these amazing rigs. I've also done away with the MX38'S on the outcast as they are just too heavy and when getting big airs they cause major damage to A-arms and steering racks on bad landings lol. You and RCDUDE81 got me into liking the lighter weight tires. I'm planning to get a little run time in today if the rain holds off. Bash away brother 👊
john hoover thanks so much John 😂!!! Really appreciate the kind words brother 👊. Glad you pulled off the MX38s😨. Big wheels are really hard on the gears, too 😵. Hope your new combo works out well. Probably just need to gear up a bit for top speeds👌. Can't wait for some feedback 👍. I'm super impressed with both the Hobbystar motors and packs 😱. Voltage is definitely next level stuff for harder bashing with confidence 😜. Appreciate the kind words bro!!! 🍻🤘🤘😰😰😰😎💪👊👊
Out here on east coast i meant to say , nothing comparrd bash spots you guys have, so thinking just going little lighter on diff fluids but using you same theory
Im so jealous of where you have to bash there isn't a good place like that around me but im looking lol keep up the flying its awesome👍👍
Very impressed, looking forward to more
Thanks again bro, for the excellent tips. Keep on bashing...
Nice rich thanks , i need go through my diffs im going order gaskets shims oil .i dont get go big as you out tempts are lot cooler on east coast so i wont go as thick but definitely want stop all power bleeding to front wheels
Rich back at it with the v3!!
yz125ryder you bet brother 👊!!! My V2 has been through a bit 😌. Couldn't pass up the deal my LHS through at me for this barely touched V3👌. It's weird having an unscratched chassis in the garage 😜. Should be a dialed in Beast soon.🤘🤘😵😵😵😎💪👊👊
@@richduperbash2966 Thats awesome man. The v3 is hands down the best all around RTR you can buy. Just traded Anna's Outcast for a v2 Kraton. A little more stable for her!
Great vid Rich, some solid nonbiase information 👍
Really great video, after watching your videos it made me buy an Arrma. Went with the Notorious. Received it and was wowed how awesome it was. My kids 10 and 12 really wanted to get into RC with me after seeing that truck. So I found a V2 Kraton and V2 Talion from 1 seller on Ebay and bought them. Daughter is going with the Talion and my son went with the Kraton. Went to the local hobby store today and bought a dynomite prophet sport quad. I had ordered some lipos from amazon, Ovonic (2) 2s 6200, (2) 3s 4500, and have (2) 3s 5500 coming tomorrow. They all have Deans plugs. My daughters Talion came with a 4s 5000 gens ace with deans. Hers was the first we tried since it was the only one running the right connectors and it was flying on 4s. I am wondering if I should return the multiple packs and just grab all 4s packs since it seem like that will be fast enough just bashing around in the park. What connectors should I swap them to, I was going to do XT90s but It looks like you run something else. Thanks for what you do!
dan law thanks so much Dan👊!!! Awesome to hear about your Arrmas 👌. Simply great choices you've made🍻. Nothing wrong with XT90s, but I prefer running single 4 and 6s hardcase lipos with single EC5 connectors. It's easier to load, charge...etc. The EC5s are higher rated and don't come disconnected with hard impacts. 🍻🤘🤘😵😵😎💪👊👊
Great info and supper dope bash 👍🏾
Great informative video, thanks .. Will def help . Like you said biggest thing is landing on wheels
Philip Jolley thanks Philip 😂!!! Hope it proves helpful. Landing on the wheels is definitely key.🍻👌👌😵😵😵😎💪💪💪👊👊
Rich dude, best vid yet (since start of channel) really appreciate it. Would love to know the why behind the diff fluid weight choices but thanks for the numbers. Also for bash filming which GoPro do you use and which field of view (narrow?). Thanks man.
Thanks Ryan 😁. I still use an old GoPro hero session 4. Doesn't have many features, but gets the job done. Usually film wide angle at 60fps. Diff fluid weight is personal preference. Heavier center fluid minimizes wasted power transfer and ballooning to the front wheels. Generally want the front weight heavier than the rear for better handling and control when turning. The front and rear diff fluids control left to right power transfer.
Hi bud cool cool vid awesome jumping, I live in Roseville Ca. And was wondering if you might be able to tell me where you shot the vid because I'd love to take my kraton to same place your launching your truck :-)
love your vids keep them comeing
Nicola Thompson thanks my friend 😂!!! Really appreciate it. 🍻🤘🤘😅😅😅😎💪👊👊
Thanks Duperbash! This was what I wanted to know. Great Info! Keep bashing brotha!
Thanks so much Mike 😎💪👊👊
Hey Rich, first off as always I thank you for taking the time to break things down in a way that is much easier for some of us less experienced bashers to understand. Sometimes I got lost in all the technical tefms/RC slang, so I appr the time you take on the workbenche as well ad before/after your many incredible runnings vids. I have only recently gotten back into the hobby and I too am not one to "dress up" my rigs unless the part/upgrade has benefits while bashing in general as well as because of my budget restrictions...with that said I'm looking to hopefully take advantage of some of the xmas sales going on over the next couple of weeks and would like to ask you what you might reccomend for my fairly new/stock 2018 outcast v3. I see your kraton looks to have the stock servo and front hubs unfortunately I've cross threaded the plastic frong left hub and wanted to get your opinion on what you suggest I might do or which hub you might suggest hopefully without that same poor plastic to metal design? HR seem to be a bit more $ and would really like to keep the total cost dow. If poss conscidering the fact that I'm most likely going to go for voltage hobby towers, a backup servo if/when stock servo goes, some decent/budget friendly hex tools(all my tools were stolen so I'm really not dealing those micro allen wenches arrma provides), a front bumper such as the TBR or GPM, some new 4s lipos or maybe a higher mah 4S and poss a 6s but may keep it 4s with higher discharge as I really dont know that I'm in need of the 6s power/breakages right now and honestly I know I'm asking alot by asking for your opinion/guidance with all of this especially being on a budget but u do believe you are the #1 guy to ask and that being so if their are any other suggestions you may have or any specific and or less costly parts, tips or resources that you at all think may help a fellow basher/fan get their rig together, any/all assistance would be absolutely appreciated to say the least. I'm certainly more than willing to do my due diligence and have but before I go spending the $ I thought I be best to ask the back king himself if hes not to busy making what I consider to be the best bash content and informative content around. If not I completely understand and wish you a happy/safe holidays. Thanks in advance man.👍
Chris R thanks for the kind words brother 😂!!! The upgrades I recommend are the same across the entire 6s line. A good bumper, skid plate, aluminum chassis supports, and servo mount are the main ones. I run all Savox servos, mostly SW1210sg waterproof. There's cheaper HD options available. I personally don't see the need for aluminum hubs. Usually don't break them very often and prefer they have minute give. They're an 8$ part anyways. You can sometimes successfully rethread a partially stripped one. I've done it and sometimes use plumbers Teflon PTE tape to tighten it perfectly 👌. Just a single wrap or 2 on the threads. Good luck with your build and upgrade as you go and see fit. 🍻🤘🤘😎💪👊👊
@@richduperbash2966 thanks Rich I appreciate your timely response man. It puts me at ease knowing that you arent really picky as to the brands as I am on a budget and some of these parts that seem to of similiar specs/materials have a pretty big difference in price. I'm going to simply follow your tips in the vids but start with the parts you mentioned above. I actually was able to rethread the front hubs that I've learned the hard way to use caution when messing with the hubs but did use just a small bit of plumbers tape a as you mentioned which did the job for now. Was going back and forth on those metal hubs but after seeing how cheap they are yesterday and now with your confirmation it makes sense for me to pick up a pair or two of the stock hubs rather than the big bucks for a set. Pumped to see some more clips and really really would live to see you do your thing at that sick cement park with those deep bowls and sweet lines! Btw I think you should coin the term "duberbash" as my buddy's and I will sometimes refer to a really sweet launch/smooth landing such as... "did he really just duperbash that?!?" Lol thanks again brother
Awesome , I’ve been waiting 4 this video , keep em’ coming 👍👍👍 I’ll file this 1😎👨🔧🏎🛠🍺🍻
I’m ordering the new Kraton v4 6s and before it ever hits the ground I’m doing everything you said in the video here! I really trust your judgment on these trucks and share your passion! I have a typhon 3s now with a 26tooth pinion that is my little speed demon but I want the Kraton so bad I can’t stand it anymore ! Thanks for all the info bud and great bashing videos, I can tell the sound of your Kraton is dialed in perfectly and that’s what I need for up here in Alaska! I’m on it bro!
Great info this is what makes you Duper 👍
ScottzillaRC thanks so much Scott 😂!!! Hope it helps brother. 🍻🤘🤘😨😨😨😎💪👊👊
Awesome vids bud just got my kraton
Thanks so much Aaron 🤗!!!! Congrats on the new Kraton 😱. The one newer Big upgrade since this video is the M2C Goliath Series 7075 chassis 👀. Truly is a game changer. 😎💪👊👊
Gonna have to check that out ! Trying to learn more about how to work on them this is My first electric rc had a nitro like 20 years ago. I also go to fast track hobbies it’s kind of a hike though coming from yuba city lol
Great video and upgrades!!!👍
Really great tips bro!!! As always 💯
I love your bashing so hevy jumps .
Good vid Rich!!!!! LONG LIVE ARRMA!!!!!!!!!💪💪💪💪💪💪💪🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Great explanation and feedback bro as always😎. OMG how much cars and rc materials have you😂?
riccardo galli thanks so much brother 👊!!! I'm up to my neck with RCs at the moment 😨. Not as many as some, but more than I currently have space for. Solution: make more space 😜. I'm slowly reorganizing my garage and work space 👍. The problem is other non-RC stuff that needs to be vacated first. Clutter drives me nuts 😵😵🤘🤘😎💪👊👊
Hello Rich, thanks for the awesome vids and info! If you don’t mind.... at this point have you selected a “go to” battery? I’m looking at ordering the hobbystar 4800 6s hardcase as you’ve mentioned. Have you been happy with it? Is the mah tolerable? Was gonna order an smc but hear mixed opinions (as you will on most things) between the two, I believe I prefer, for now the hobbystar.... provided you give it a nod. Thanks a bunch, you knowledge is very appreciated!
Thanks brother 👊!!! Yes, I prefer that Hobbystar pack over the SMCs. Run time is just right for me. Some guys like bigger packs, but it really just adds weight in the end. 😎💪👊👊
thanks Rich the info was good keep Bashing Bro
BreakingSilence you bet brother 👊!!! 🍻🤘🤘😨😨😨😎💪👊👊
Hey rich, recently diassembled the front and rear diffs to install some sealed bearings. I reinstalled the front diff and it just click clacks all over against the pinion even after greasing. There seems to be one section on the ring gear where it almost seizes, im not quite sure why cause its flush on the diff case. This is with one shim on the ring side.
Hey man I watch all of your videos and I think they are wicked but man I can’t figure out if I should get an outcast or kraton in your opinion which is funner to run and which is tougher
After all that is there any og truck left lol. Serious gear for a bashmaster. ✌👍
Hey Rich, love you content. I heard you buy from the same hobby shop I do!! Where do you go to drive at? I’ve never seen the places in your videos.
Hi Rich. Love the videos! Your like the Evel Knievel of the rc world! Just wondering with all the upgrade parts that you fit would it possibly be cheaper to build the Kraton from scratch? rather than buying it then changing the parts. Only wondered as I want one but would be happy to build from scratch. Thanks
Love your videos, bro! I just picked up a kraton 8s, my first arrma... bought it used. What would be my first move to tighten up the front end? Seems a little sloppy, I'm guessing from wear... A,B,C,and D hinge pin retainers maybe? I'm not so familiar with the whole pillowball system, either. I love it, otherwise...
Thanks so much Scott 🤗. It's normal to have some play in the 8s steering, however, several steering components can and will come loose. The A and B blocks can oval out over time as can the arm hinge pin holes. I'd make sure the servo saver adjustment screw is cranked down snug. Beware of the plastic plug if front of it. It's a counter clockwise set plug. It loosens clockwise and it's job is to lock the servo saver screw in place. The upper hinge pin screws can come loose and back out on the towers. The pillow ball nuts also have to be set right. Should have slight play to afford easy steering/pivoting. Too loose will cause slop. I'd go through the toe links and other components. My stock servo eventually crapped out. The Hobbystar 6912HV is a great replacement 💪. Just need the larger 8s servo tray and add an extra spacer on the saver set screw (or cut off around 3mm of threads). 😎💪👊👊
