I know they're sweeter than sugar 😭😭 but also, you should try soan papdi! It's my favorite one, and it's so good! You might be already familiar with it as variations exist in the middle-east/asia My other favorite one is jalebi, but i think everyone knows this one haha
@@ArtisansAlchemy it sucks that i can't eat often because i don't live in India 😭 it's nice that more people appreciate it, maybe it'll be more available in the future!
@@acaterpillargivingbirth same! I’m learning how to make more and more, and like, cooking is one thing but making desserts wasn’t something I learned to do early on, so I’m enjoying learning how to get the flavors *perfect* now! Do you have cookbook resources??
The ones with the tiny seeds are fig rolls filled with dry fruits like almond and cashew. The green one is probably a pan petha type deal, again stuffed with dry fruits. The middle row is chocolate barfi (on the top) and probably peda or barfi (on the bottom) the oval white stuff with the hello dot and pistachio garnish is cham cham. And silver leaf though pricey can be found on all sweets here.
My family makes so many good versions of burfee and pedas - my cute best friend learned to make pedas to send them to me!!! How incredible is she for that??? Made me miss my family + home!
I think she’d make a really good gulab jaman. One thing I’ve been trying to do over the years is find a way to get that gulab jaman flavor in a big cake like she makes, it’s not a bad idea to try and do a thinner syrup that you glaze the cake with.
Very thoughtful and kind of your neighbors. Looks quite fancy and delicious. (The green one reminds me of a stuffed Turkish Delight, which I recently tried for the first time. I loved it)
mimo, that silver stuff (silver leaf which is just like gold leaf but made out of silver) is actually not that pricey! it's often used in sweets at a huge scale and they're pretty cheap.
Love to see people speaking positively about Indian sweets, a lot of creators who do talk about any Indian food either reduce it to Americanized versions or speak down on parts like the sweets!!
These are all really good Indian sweets!! The mustard coloured cuboid shape one is Mysore Pak- it's made with ghee and gram flour.. and the circular one with dryfruits has cashew i think- those are really tasty!
how did you get a box of Indian sweets and not even tell us what they are or what they taste like? 😭 Indian and Spanish desserts intrigue me the most personally
My heart melted as an Indian, than you so much for trying our sweets, most people only talk about butter chicken and naan and all other food is underappreciated ❤️
Try Kaju Katli (cashew nut sweet), Gulab Jamun , Rasagulla and Rasmalai they're delicious and they're my favourite there's also a sweet called paneer jamun and it's pink it my favourite
If you are really into sweets, you must try Bengali (a state in India called West Bengal and the culture known as Bengali) desserts. A blend of taste and variety that's surely gonna make you drool and crave for more.❤❤
That looks so delicious I wish I could try them. And also if I were you I would keep the box after I finish them it’s so beautiful and I love the design
I don’t think I see it in your box of sweets, but my mom’s co-worker gifted us a box of Gulab Jamun from a local Indian bakery and it was delicious! It’s a must try if you live near a good Indian bakery/grocer.
No. They wouldn’t be on Birkham box because they’re coated in syrup. It’s not hard to find gulab jamun mix at an Indian grocery and make it yourself if you want to!
as a Indian I can confirm that all of those sweets are delicious!

Same!
As a West Indian, I too can confirm this 😛
I’m an Indian but don’t know what half of those are :’)
