Hi James, from the UK. This series of courses has been just what I needed. You pitched it all just right and your easy friendly manner and careful explanations were most welcome. I’ll need to revisit quite a few of the series to get into shape (more views for you) but keep up the great work! I’ll continue to check out your content for sure. Thanks for really helping me on my way!
Solid man. Thank you for putting these together.
a Big thank you, James. Enjoyed the 30 days. I have learned so much. My confidence is up as I'm getting almost all you showed us in the past 30 days. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos enjoyable and understandable. Great work, and the best part is that one can review the past 30 days. Much appreciated.
Awesome to learn these 4 chord songs! Thank you! 🎶🎸
Thank you so much..Happy Holidays!
Awesome, just seen this, will be going thru all. Great that you have a fantastic helper! Wonderful to see ya'll having fun and sharing skills. 😀
Thanks for the video. Really really helpful.
Thank you for being always inspiring. I’ve been encouraging my wife to strum with me as I learn to play guitar (using your online lessons which are great) and she has finally agreed. 🎉🎉
You guys are great!! What a talented and lovely couple! Thanks very much!
Thanks for all those songs James, brilliant and it’s great to see Christina on the channel again 🤛👌
Thankyou that was very very gd. Love them all.
Wish you had more sheets to show with songs that had lyrics as well as when to change chord progressions during every song. ❤❤❤❤😊
Thank you both very much.
Thanks guys. I enjoyed this.
Nice another segment thank you ❤
Thanks man…your chords are so easy to follow!
Love hearing y'all harmonize
You two are great!
Brilliant. Love it. Great stuff. Saving this. Huge appreciation from a 64yr old newbie. Love from Scotland 🏴
Awesome ! what a finale, enjoyed each day, learned a lot. I'll be able to use the series as a resource for my practice sessions. Top notch teaching skills. The E books also a great resource too. The Led Zeppelin - D'er Maker was a bit of a surprise too. Thank You.
Thanks for sharing
Brilliant. Thanks for sharing!
No problem! Cheers
Hi guys just wanted to leave here my deep appreciation for your videos and I wish I had internet when I first started playing the guitar....I had jumped from the violin to the guitar and I was pretty much self taught..anyway I started a band in the late 90s, recorded and had some cool concerts....after I served in the army my band broke up and later on I had an accident and cut and damaged some nerves on my left had so this means after all these years I still find useful what you do since I'm starting over again from scratch...thanks again. ❤❤❤❤❤
If I'm not mistaken on the last song, Wonderful World it's G C G C D G instead of G C G C G D. But Thx for the 30 songs... Great help
ditto - I believe you guys play it correctly, but its just that the chords on screen are mixed up. Great job on the video!
Thank you again 🙏
Hello James, thank you so much for these amazing resources! I do really enjoyed the past 30 days. Thanks to your wife as well. Greetings from Portugal
Love all the songs
Thanks for sharing I’m learning almost 5 months learning a lot
🎉🎉🎉WOW, GREAT JOB you two❤️❤️. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!❤️🙏🙏🙏
Hello Geralyn, you're so welcome!
Hey. I just watched your 2 videos 30 songs with just 4 chords. Excellent! I am an amateur guitar player who hasn’t played guitar in years. Decided to dust the guitar and start slowly. After watching these videos, you got me hooked again. Many thanks. And congratulations on these videos. I just discovered your channel. I subscribed and will be looking for other great videos you have done.
Great job! I think she did a great job also!
Before I started watching the 30-day series I already knew a bunch of open and bar chords. But in my arrogance, I just watched and didn’t actually try to do many of the exercises. Well, when day 30 came around I could not even keep up with the most basic songs.
So…I’m back at day 8 and this time I am really putting in the work. For me, my biggest take away is to really practice the silent switching, and especially the strumming patterns, and the hidden gem…work with a metronome!
Hopefully, by Valentines Day I’ll be where I should have been on Jan 31.
Thank you, James. You are a wonderful teacher.
Hi John, thank you for this detailed comment. You are very welcome.
Wow.. thanks a lot for this tutorial
You are most welcome
This is the easiest way to learn guitar so far..thank you to both of you
11:34 country roads loved that❤ just like in the kings men movie
Magnifique, merci beaucoup
cordialement
You guys do a great job teaching these songs on guitar. GT
Excellent series, much appreciated. Couldn't help but notice that Christina is playing a Larrivee Parlor guitar; just bought one like that for my wife, she loves it. Fine little guitar.
yes we got it second hand and it come on countless trips with me. it's a good traveling guitar
Quick note about Country Roads -- if you put a capo on the 2nd fret, you can play it in its original key, while still playing only G, C, Em, D (and the F that one time in the bridge).
Yes that's true! Thanks for chiming in!
This is the best video i have ever seen i am set for songs for life haha
Your wife got pipes...what a treat
Thank you so much for these two videos that was so fun for me a 41 year old guitar novice. New sub.
Very welcome! happy to have you aboard
Love y'all together
Give the newbies a mashup medley of Blues Traveler Runaround and Sister Hazel All For You (originally recorded in key of Ab, but G works). Also Semisonic Closing Tine.
❤🎉
James can you put something together for Bob Dylan's greatest song (for me) its Missisippi from his Essentials album keep doing what you do,greeting from the UK
Big up to Wifey. well done girl.
Does anyone know if it's possible to play these in a "key" lower? if that's the wording for it. For some of us who are more "baritone" many of these Pop songs are tougher to sing. Is there a solution like that for those of us who aren't as proficient in the higher vocal ranges?
God bless you both.
Thank you very much.
HI James....wonderful time with your wife and greetings from Sri Lanka
cool
I'm going back to this after I practice my strumming. I'm so lost lol
Hopefully this helps you stay on track...
Great couple of videos. I'm a total beginner. What does the "R" mean on the strum patterns. Thanks for the videos. Subscribed
wow, i didnt notice any "R"s, but usually in music that means "REST"...like a quick stop...or a quick pause.
@@darryldoesit966 Found out it means only play the Root note of that chord.
man I wish I could play like that. I always seem to mute strings can't stop looking at the frets and counting strings
Thank you for not only teaching the chords, but also show the strumming pattern. So much fun to learn the songs! Hope to see more videos. Greetings from the Netherlands.
More to come! Thanks for tuning in!
Do you the chords and lyrics for the part one songs
Where can I see a list of the 30 songs?
Do you have available downloadable pdf format of these songs with chords? Or books available?
Hey Ke, unfortunately, I have had to comply with copyright law and had to take down all of my charts :( you can find the charts I made for sale though on musicnotes.com.
Are they all in original key ? Thanks colin
Hello, no, they are not. This was an example of what you can do if you only know 4 chords. I hope that provides some clarity to you. Thanks, James
💯%❤️🔥❗️
Another version you teach of this song has a capo on the 4th fret. Is one version better than the other?
That version is in the original key. This one might be more beginner-friendly.
I find playing guitar at this level easy. My problem is I can't sing. It sounds OK in my head, but it comes out like grinding gears on an old bus.
As someone who has never identified as a "good" singer myself, it is not really a necessary skill. I mean these songs are so nice to play with others that someone else ends up singing anyway! Also - you always sound worse to yourself.
Practice practice practice. Hit a note on your guitar and try to match it with your voice. The same way you would tune to ear.
this is great . . . . . . FYI... with glasses on you look like Emma Stone :)
Dear Mommy: Verba Vocal offers lots and lots of vocal warm-up videos. The people at Verba Vocal are prize-quality vocalists. The videos are free. If you get something good, why not send a Christmas tip?
Your voice is absolutely excellent. There are two problems. Your throat was dry. Spring water is the cure. Second, you were not one bit warmed up.
Try Verba Vocal's short and long didactic videos. Your presentation and your health will improve.
In sincere admiration,
Papa Cool
Now you should change thename of the channel to Good Guitarists. There are two of you..
Calling James Blunt a one hit wonder🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Dude, your left hand needs to chill...every stupid gesture looks like you're going to hit your spouse in the face.
Don't sing dude🙏🙏🙏
Although I appreciated your inspiring me to add some new covers to my cover list, Eagle Eyed Cherry's "Save Tonight" is NOT in that key, and you left out the F. I went to Guitar Tabs. It is Am F C G. I wanted to see if I could transpose down 2 steps to do your G version and no. With smaller hands, I just play an F5 power chord, or in some cases, an F7. But, I am glad you reminded me of this song I loved so much. As a singer, you have to also sing in a key that suits your voice. The original in Am is PERFECT for me. "Go Your Own Way" is in D, and there is a Bb and F involved. Personally, I would take it down a half step with capo 1, Play it in E, leaving one with the chords staying close to each other: E B A for the verse, and C#m A B for the chorus (power chords). Or even better, Capo 3: Verse: D A G and Chorus: Bm G and A. I'm going to write up that version now! I can sing Fleetwood Mac for sure. www.kamalinden.com
Great i have really enjoyed. YOU taught me what a chord progression is and has really really really! changed alot. Asante sana
