Not for everyone - Every 5 to 10 feet, I stopped and if need made an adjustment to the trailer. Always had the left - Used the Right to Keep it on time going into the Alley.
This is a GREAT VIDEO! Last time I messed up on my set up and hit the boundary line but this time I’m gonna get it in Jesus name! All Glory to God. Thanks Trucker Steve for your extremely informative videos. Keep helping us man

I feel like if I can't demonstrate the concept correctly or master my setup. It will be a lot of unnecessary corrections. Thanks for this video Mr. Steve. I finally see what my issues are on the alley dock. I have been hitting n missing on the range everyday. But, having patience is the key needed on my end. I appreciate you! &Thanks again
Steve I just found your teachings let me say I been driving for 8 months I am using your technique from here on out..your the best teacher and you can hear the compassion you have for us newbies., can you do a 45 degree angle video if you have not already done so.. 😊😊😊
Hopefully soon on the 45 degree but that like the offset. So when we alley dock, the driver may be at a 45 degree angle when backing into the dock. Thank you for your kind words. This week we have rain but I plan to do more backing videos. ASAP
I oversteer soo much and this helped me understand what it looks like when I do at certain angles and what it means to “ chase the trailer” when it gets away from you. My dad and trainer kept saying “ chase the trailer” and i did NOT know when or why i should be doing it. This was a great video. Out of all the videos i watched your made me understand the concept of backing
Thank you so much! You are awesome!! You are the goat of trainers! This the video i needed! It finally all came together! I did this today and it worked! I will keep trying this method til i get better! Thanks for the gems!! 😊😊😊
@@truckerstevecdlinstructoryes the goat hands down! Goat stands for the greatest of all time! Yes sir you definitely help new drivers learn the techniques to back a trailer!
I love it every time I can accomplish this maneuver without pulling up. Going nice and slow and making a lot of small adjustments. I alley dock 4 times a shift so I get a lot of practice.
Some Students are testing next week and are still having problems with the Alley Dock. This is not for everyone but going slow with small backs and using the Right to keep the trailer on time into the Alley.

Yes , many CDL Students oversteer. This video may be of help - slow down! I teach my students not to oversteer and be in control of the trailer. CDL students are not all trained in the same manner.
It’s better to hung your driver side then pull up straighten it up that be 1 maybe 2 pull-ups of most in truck stops they going be cursing you out doing it this way no offense 😂
Always a 45 degree or straight line back is best. This video is for those who must take a CDL test for alley Dock or have no choice but to do a 90 degree back. Thank you for your comment. No offense taken.

I was taught to make a complete L then left to swing it around. Your way of teaching/explaining this is wayyyyyy better!!!!
All depends how close you are to the dock or alley. Maybe I will do one this weekend.
