In this episode if Dialing In... I take a deep dive look at the Ducked Delay from the Line 6 Helix, which is a model of the Classic TC Electronic 2290 Digital Delay. The unique feature of this delay is it's ability to act as a ducking delay. I really hope you enjoy the video and find it useful in getting great results from this unique delay.
As always, thanks so much for watching and I hope you enjoy the video...

I finally know how they did the intro to China Grove! Stumped me for years using standard delays! Thanks so much!
Great explanation. No manual can do it better than Jason.
I love my Helix more now that the Helix Master Jason Sadites showed us the great Ducked Delay we have available in our Helixes. It's gonna become my go to delay from now on. Thanks again for everything, Jason, we love you!
Balancing delay ducking has always...always been a back and forth trying to find the right balance type of deal, so this feature is precisely what I've been waiting for for a looooong time!
Just a couple of ideas after watching this for the 2nd time. The end of Tommy Gun by The Clash works well with Gating, (1/4 trip, 70% F back, 40% mix, 129ms Dyn Rel rest stock)
The end of Down in The tube Station by The Jam with Ducking (1/4 trip, 81% F back, 59% mix, 5 sec Dyn rel etc). Knocked these settings up in about 10 mins, please season to taste. I like the end to Tube Station particularly, does sound like a train disappearing down a tunnel. Can’t remember if I’ve commented on your videos before and even if I have it’s worth saying again, B*****y Hell, man, there brilliant, keep on keeping on. Yours from the far side of the Pond.
Great content bro. Thank you so much
Curious what will be the effect if you use gating with trails on? i am going to try that ( great video as always)
That is an awesome guitar. I'm not usually a fan of Yamahas, but I'm thinking I may need to reconsider.
Ducking seems to be another term for side chaining.
Jason, I wanted to reach out and let you know that I enjoy your work, and thank you for influencing my tone. Regards, ~D
Thank you Dale and really glad to hear you are enjoying the videos :-)
Great vid and explanation as always Jason...if you could, please do a Video on how to use the expression pedal(s) to control effect parameters, as well as adding an exp pedal like a Roland ev5 to control parameters. there is a massive void of info on the subject!
I just purchased a PodGo as a beginner, because of your nice showcase of the hardware. Currently i am trying to get the sound for the solo. Do you have any tips for me Jason?
I love Rush... especially their first album. I heard Greta Van Fleet the other day and it sounded just like Rush's first album. But i am here for Ducked Delay.
I set up a preset using your template. I added my BigSky into the path using FX1. Then added distortion in front of the amp.
When using the distortion the FX1 block turns red. How do I correct this problem?
Very cool
