      @@Steve-ev6vx Nobody is saying there aren't people that hate fat people, but it's not all coming from a place of hate. It's annoying when people act like they mean well though when clearly they're making bullshit excuses to bully someone in a nefarious way, I get that's where the skepticism from some fat people comes from.
      And to be fair as some who's 39 and I've had naturally hard lean abs since I was 12, many fat people openly hate skinny people. In fact, a lot of the body positivity promoters openly hate skinny people, all while preaching love and acceptance. Just like feminism does with men, love all women no matter what but hate men. And I had the same name as the shortest kid in our class as the second tallest in 6th grade at 5'9"(another kid was 5'11", I was 6+ inches taller than the 3rd tallest though). One day I told him to punch me in the stomach literally his hardest, and after that he'd always ask me in the lunch line if he can punch me lol. Sometimes he'd hurt his wrist doing it, I did grow up on a farm though.

      I would agree my one criticism of this video is he really doesn’t talk about how damn hard it is to lose weight. I’ve been trying for 15 years I’ve worked a lot of manual jobs that have been hell and I’m strong but I also look pretty damn fat. I’ve lost and gained 50-70 pounds more times than I can count fundamentally it’s my coping mechanism and how I deal with the stress of my own life which is really unhealthy I know and no matter how hard I try to break it I eventually fall off the horse and feel like shit and give up for a few months then eventually try again it’s a vicious cycle.

      There are things that helped a friend. A good sleeping schedule can help. 8 hours at least. No eating, no snacks, at least 2 hours before you sleep.
      No sugary drinks. Tea or water. Maybe 1 softdrink a day, but not more.
      Also trying to eat cooked food, and there are certain diets, like keto diet, that helped a lot of people. The most important thing is to be happy with the diet and what you do to lose weight, so it's not an endless struggle.
      80% is diet, but working out also can help. Even going for a walk for 30 minutes extra each day, 1 hour on holidays or the weekend. Swimming is one of the best things you could do. 1 hour per day. Basic exercises.
      The training is not so much about burning fat, but maintaining the muscles while losing weight, because when you lose weight, the body will burn fat AND muscles. I know a lot of people who lost weight like that, but key point always was, it didn't feel annoying or like a bad struggle, they were happy with the diet and could adapt to the rules.

    I've lost almost 60 pounds in the last year and a half and look more fit than I've done in over 15 years. My wife is larger as well. Not by her own fault. It's due to chronic health issues that cause weight loss issues and random fainting (its several issues conflicting/interacting), makes weight loss problematic but she's still trying. Have to force her to eat enough to not have malnutrition issues despite her size. And I love her dearly and we both notice, and occasionally mock, these types of fools.
    My own weight was failing to overcome depression save through food in my teen and young adult years, and becoming apathetic to it afterward. The loss was, at first, incidental. Not anymore. And she's proud of and supports me. And I, her.
    All that to say, Nux, I'm happy to hear and "see" you make the caveat "not all fat people!". Appreciate that. Respect that. It's a good nuanced reasonable point to make.

      The extreme defensiveness and obsession with getting validation is likely caused by bullying in some form, likely from their mothers. Most overweight ppl focus on daily quality of life issues such as overheating and chafing, and so try to lose the extra weight. Most never get so obsessed with how other people see and treat them because of their bodies, that they would actually rebel in this way that means staying uncomfortable and tired and unhealthy. Something else has to happen affecting self esteem and anger towards thin people who judge them, for that approach to be appealing whatsoever.
      One of the most common triggers of AN in males is actually bullying over their weight, but for some reason most girls with AN were never actually overweight.
      It is a shame that the child gets bullied before they are even old enough to know the relationship between what they eat and their weight, instead of the parents getting bullied for feeding their child wrongly or forcing or guilt-tripping them into finishing the huge portions on their plate. The parents who act emotionally rejected and unappreciated if their children don't want to eat all of their helpings of mum's cooking, need a stern talking to by other adults. Especially the ones who do that, then criticise the child's weight without apologising for doing that to them or acknowledging that their pressure to overeat and their choices of food to provide, are the causes of that weight and so need to change

    • @MmeCShadow
      @MmeCShadow 4 часа назад

      Thing is, kids bully other kids to establish hierarchies. Bullying the fat kid isn't done because they're fat, it's because they're a target and being fat is an easy thing to make fun of. The bullies already decided tou're a target. Losing weight isn't going to make them respect you. For girls especially it's more likely to lead to eating disorders. 'Bully fat kids' is a funny meme, but it's not actually helpful.

    • @compulsiverambler1352
      @compulsiverambler1352 3 часа назад

      @@MmeCShadow Actually, a higher percentage of the males with anorexia than the females with anorexia ever got bullied for their size or shape beforehand. In female anorexics, most were never more than a few pounds overweight anyway. In the females cases the initial trigger is much more often an initial significant drop in BMI due to a growth spurt, loss of appetite from stress or depression or grief, and/or intense exercise for a physically demanding hobby, not an intentional weight loss, and this initial weight loss only triggers a subsequent compulsive restriction of calories because they notice it makes them feel good or at least distracted from worries to be hungry. This is because caloric deprivation of any cause activates the rare metabolic genetic variants
      anorexics have which cause them to experience severe restriction as calming and even euphoric, releasing high levels of endogenous opioids. Then some of them try to understand why they feel good when they are hungry, and naturally make assumptions to explain it to themselves cos they don't know the real reason is just a metabolic quirk that alters how their cells behave and what hormones get release, not psychological. They will offer explanations such as "I feel good cos it means I am actually good at something other people struggle to do", "it means I won't get fat and therefore be symbolically assumed to be gluttonous and not as in control af myself and emotions and life as I want to see myself as" or just "it gives me a sense of control over something that I can focus on. These explanations can then become a bit true, by self fulfilljng prophecy. But it is simply an addiction to a euphoric or numbing effect of hunger.

Just cutting that stuff out however will help people who are overweight, the sweets can be from natural sugars like fruits. Some youngsters have come forward saying they believed these people and stopped trying to manage their weight, and seriously regret it years later. If social media were around when I was 13 I would have joined ten online cults by the time I was 17, a lot of people lack any critical thinking skills at that age .I think of my friend's dad who died horribly of type 2 diabetes complications, and how that will be happening to people even younger than he was because it was being promoted to get ever bigger without any care. That makes me sad and angry.
      The fact that it's allowed on TikTok and Instagram even while Eugenia keeps getting suspended despite giving no verbal advice to others about how they should eat and what they should aspire to look like, and even though she has outlived several Fat Acceptance influencers. Let's not forget back in the 1970s Nestlé, the world’s largest food corporation at the time, was aggressively marketing breast milk substitutes to mothers in the Global South as the most nutritious choice for their babies. Bent on selling infant formula to women who did not need - and indeed, were better off without - its products Nestlé, didn’t bother with the reality that these families wouldn’t be able to afford the formula in the long term. Nor did it acknowledge that it was pushing its product in situations where people had limited fuel and tools to sterilize bottles, refrigeration, and clean water to mix with the formula. All of this added up to hundreds of thousands infants dying - babies who would have survived had it not been for Nestlé and other corporations’ unethical marketing practices.

      The rate of anorexia did not increase, all the other eating disorders have increased but research shows anorexia is strongly genetic in such a way that if you don't have certain unusual genes that make you feel paradoxically really good and energetic when you restrict heavily, you are very unlikely to be able to develop it. The low rate of these genes means there is a cap on the percentage of the population who will ever get AN. The other eating disorders are possible with much more common genes, and get caused in combination of genes with Ultra Processed Food, so they have greatly increased in numbers every where that UPF spread to over the last century.

      The percentage of the population who like how slim and toned looks, and like what it represents symbolically (I won't reduce our survival by eating all the tribe's stockpiled food or lose control and harvest the crops too early) does not change. People are born liking what they like. Nobody goes from liking a certain body shape and proportions to disliking then years later cos they aren't shown in magazines quite as much as before. That is nobody's experience of their own visual preferences, and no other species is swayed by external factors like that, it would make no evolutionary sense for us to somehow stop being genetically caused to like the bodies we like as every other social species is

      To be fair, exercise is only about 20% of weight loss. In fact you are more likely to gain weight through muscle mass than lose if you focus on things like weightlifting. The number one thing fat people need to focus on is diet control, then you can sprinkle in daily Cardio. Walking just 150 minutes per week increases your metabolism and makes you a fundamentally more healthy person even if you keep your bad habits. (If you can't tell I went to school for this lol)

      Then you could look at things like swimming, training up the whole body a bit in general, so you burn more.
      You don't need a daily 2 hour workout session, just a few changes, that also will help your mental health, like sleeping enough and being outside walking, and then you can add 2 or 3 hours of workout per week, if you want, and you should get very fit in a reasonable amount of time. Not just skinny, but fit 🤷‍♂️

    I see fat acceptance more as a sad view of "well we are ruled by these mega cooperation's that make ultra addictive ultra processed foods so why fight the system, just accept the fate they have thrust upon us all"

    Self love and promoting Obesity are 2 different things. Im a fat dude with a daughter. And I take active steps to show her to stay active and eat healthier than i was growing up. I've been fat all my life. Been somewhat active because I grew up on a Farm and have been lucky enough to not have to take meds. I'll tell anyone that I'm not healthy. I also love who I am.

    The problem is as usual on the internet, balance. Both extremes are shit. You don’t want to bully fat people so much that they off themselves, but you also don’t want to encourage them so much that they’ll off themselves.

    hey, dont think the people back in the day are stupid. they understand even back then that excessive fat in body is bad for your body. Korean Kings are often being regulated on what and how much they eat by their professional cooks and doctors. so that they dont die of heart disease. because back then, if they die, the cook and the doctor will get the blamed. even back then they know that over eating is bad
