This song certainly brings me back to what I consider the "Golden Days" of Metal..my favorite song off this Album is Block...one of my favorites...anyone else?
this video is amazing, and burn my eyes it's truly a masterpiece of 90's metal along with classics like "vulgar display of power" or "demanufacture" too sad that chris kontos left the band just months after the release of burn my eyes
My favourite Machine Head song, and one of my all time favourites. Pick up a guitar, ramp up the volume and batter out this tune with 'em. Talk about Cathartic...!
Kyuss is downright kickass, man. One of the best bands I've ever listened to. Asteroid (my favorite, I fucking love that riff!), Gardenia, Demon Cleaner, Green machine,Spaceship Landings...All classic songs. These guys were truly legendary (and way better than Queens Of The Stone Age, btw!). As for Machine Head...well, this song and especially the main riff and the part in 7/8 at 2:44-3:34 speak for themselves. I think their best song is Davidian, though, you can't beat the main riff of that one!
Out of all my favorite bands... there is more dispute between machine head than a lot of similar bands. That means a lot has changed from ablum to album, but in broad spectrum of things, MH has kicked your ass several times. Cheers.
gonna see them tonight after seeing them in 95. They never recovered from losing chris kontos he was so good. The songs arent as strong and logan was a strong player as well but they are still kickass.
Haha. Whether you believe it or not, Thrash metal is alive. It never went away, it just faded into the background for a while. The Blackening is the MoP for our generation, whether you like it or not. Its not a statement, its a fact.
Thank God I'm not the only one who thinks that way. I don't think I should have to justify WHAT KIND of metal I listen to, I mean, at least I listen to metal! Whatever, people will do what the wish to make others feel inferior. Why? Who knows.
metalcore has existed since '84-'85. Bands like D.R.I, C.o.C, Stormtroopers of Death, and early Prong along with other crossover bands fused hardcore and metal together. I consider early Machine Head groove metal and a precursor to nu metal. Later Machine Head is more akin to modern thrash.
in like 94/95 most people thought they were the next metallica, but they never stepped up to the plate since burn my eyes. they suffered by Chris Kontos leaving. Also i dont think there is enough variety in their albums they need to do some different stuff.
um if you want to label this anything it is Groove/Thrash Metal. even though i hate labeling, you should know that both of those genres have a decent amount of hardcore influence and that is what you are hearing. this is no hardcore/metalcore bullshit and it is pure metal
up to load only, i have to say load was nothing like their other stuff but it was pretty good. reload and on yeah i agree with u. but if u think about it no metallica album is like the earlier one. metallica got flack for ride the lightning cuz it wasnt like kill em all, and so on and so on. so when it comes to that kind of stuff i always think of it like this: fans follow bands, not the other way around. rock on dude
no dude i swear half of my entire damn school has a killswitch engage shirt. i was walking down the hall one time and ran into three people at an intersection thingy, all three of them didn't know each other (and i could tell cuz they didn't even look at each other and weren't walkin in the same direction) and they all were wearing a kse shirt. i felt lonely with my LoG shirt on but hey at least it's kind of metal
Never get in touch with old Machine Head before because I dont listen to them so much at all. I hear this song for the first time and I think today Rob has a much better control to his voice and knows how to use it the most effective way. The vocals on this song are not as good as the song itself.
lol. One thing that has always confused me about machinehead is... How does Rob Flynn get his shirts to fit that way? There big..but they still have a shape..lol
I think you have no idea of Machine Head, if you say they are an imitation of Sepultura. Machine Head have his own soul. The only thing, which is similar, is Genre Thrashmetal, but also not at all LPs
thats bullshit they were what is now metalcore, they were big into hardcore punk more than rap. Robb was playin Korn instore 94 when noone knew who they were.
Dude... S.O.D was a thrash band's attempt on hardcore. If you compare S.O.D to other hardcore bands at the time Stormtroopers were definitely more metallic. It's early metalcore thrash meets hardcore. Obviously when you guys think metalcore you think killswitch engage, unearth, and all those bands but metalcore has existed since the 80s. Read Sound of the Beast for more clarification.
Old Machine Head is pretty awesome.
It finds the perfect balance between all-out thrashing and crazy grooves.
I haven't stopped listening to this track since last night! All hail Machine Head!
Much fun!! I think this is one of the best combinations you CAN see!!
I hadn't listened to metal in so long...and this riff has just reminded me how good metal is...
This song certainly brings me back to what I consider the "Golden Days" of Metal..my favorite song off this Album is Block...one of my favorites...anyone else?
Burn My Eyes one of the best albums ever...
I think this era of Machine Head is the best in my opinion.
Adios Amigos.
Saw them live :D They closed up with this song!! Best gig ever :) Rob Flynn is a top frontman..
My favourite of all their songs!
This probably is their best song... the pick of a whole bunch of awesome tunes on their first 2 albums.
MAchine head - Old,. best one ever,.
The Big words of MAchine head
MAY THE HAND OF GUD STRIKE THEM DOWN
I really like this period of MAHCNINE HEAD!
great old times,great old song
The best songs are made with simple and "evident" riffs, this is a great example.
This is the greatest heavy metal of the modern era.
this video is amazing, and burn my eyes it's truly a masterpiece of 90's metal along with classics like "vulgar display of power" or "demanufacture"
too sad that chris kontos left the band just months after the release of burn my eyes
Spaceship Landings defo one of Kyuss's greatest songs...Epic Psychedelic Stoner Metal from start to finish
One of Machine Heads best
My favourite Machine Head song, and one of my all time favourites. Pick up a guitar, ramp up the volume and batter out this tune with 'em. Talk about Cathartic...!
i was four years old when this came out. damn. i fucking love machine head
He a record producer working in L.A. He produced my friend's band back in 06.
great song 4ever machine!!!
Kyuss is downright kickass, man. One of the best bands I've ever listened to. So old but as gooa as their new amazing songs
Out of all my favorite bands... there is more dispute between machine head than a lot of similar bands. That means a lot has changed from ablum to album, but in broad spectrum of things, MH has kicked your ass several times. Cheers.
Released in 1994, machine head have only got better. A True band, not changing they're style from heavy as fuck metal. What legends. Gods.
I did never hear to Vio-Lence but i love him on machine head, he fucking rulez as singer and as guitarist
machine head 4 ever
brutaaal¡.no me canso nunca de escuchar este tema¡
hehe saw these supporting slipknot yesterday... machine head owned the show xd
Machine Head lives!

amen. burn my eyes blew my mind.
agreed, basically its machine heads masterpiece
logan mader's talent is undeniable, but he's not even missed for a second nowadays
yeah! Burn my eyes it's the best well i dont hear MH anymore but this album it's great
Badass riff!
this album came out in 94 it still fuckin badass
every fuckin' song is amazing. Bow to Machine Head!!!
This song played live is fucking strong...
I love it
what makes a hardcore sound? A stack of Marshall tube amps with triple rectifiers, hotrodded out and feeding dual brass-pegged humbuckers, thats what!
gonna see them tonight after seeing them in 95.
Right on man!
the main riff of old may be my favorite riff of all time.
G
Burn My Eyes is an essential 90's metal album.
Machine Head are the best band ever. Burn my eyes was fucking incredible. Man Robert Flynn would kick any modern day indie bands ASS
Thank God I'm not the only one who thinks that way. I don't think I should have to justify WHAT KIND of metal I listen to, I mean, at least I listen to metal! Whatever, people will do what the wish to make others feel inferior. Why? Who knows.
agreed. rob flynn was the guitar player for the late 80's thrash band VIO-LENCE.
so of course machinehead is going to have deep thrash roots.
metalcore has existed since '84-'85. Bands like D.R.I, C.o.C, Stormtroopers of Death, and early Prong along with other crossover bands fused hardcore and metal together.
I consider early Machine Head groove metal and a precursor to nu metal. Later Machine Head is more akin to modern thrash.
hey man is a super ultra power metal....exelent
Chris Kontos made Machinehead soooo much better. Kontos for the fucking win.
SAME!!! in birmingham (of course...where else?)

in like 94/95 most people thought they were the next metallica, but they never stepped up to the plate since burn my eyes. they suffered by Chris Kontos leaving. Also i dont think there is enough variety in their albums they need to do some different stuff.
The year that was in the video was wrong. Machine Head's album, "Burn My Eyes", was released in 1994, not 1995.

Hatebreed and machine Head is world`s best band i think

this song rulez, and the main RIFF is SICK!
\M/ MFH \M/
True. The Blackening > Burning my Eyes.
MACHINE FUCKIN' HEAD! \m/
Their album covers are awesome, yet quite disturbing.

There big..but they still have a shape..lol
I love Vio-Lence too, but machine head is the shit. At least this album was
true very true
yeah machine head fucking rulz man this album is incredible!!!
I think you have no idea of Machine Head, if you say they are an imitation of Sepultura. Machine Head have his own soul. The only thing, which is similar, is Genre Thrashmetal, but also not at all LPs
Machine head yeargh!
thats bullshit they were what is now metalcore, they were big into hardcore punk more than rap. Robb was playin Korn instore 94 when noone knew who they were.
is the "supercharger" nu-metal ?
1994 corruption, racism, hate. The church has failed Jesus came down and he shines.
this is what vh1 used to sound like
Cool. New genre. Fucking metal \o/

Fucking awesome.
U just replied back, just wanted to point that out, oh and yeah u replied the first time so, :].
re scartissue121: indie music doesn't actually count as music
this is a fuckin amazing song
