What did you guys think of diablo 4? Btw, did mention they should increase storage space and the idea of shared storage between characters. Just maybe not infinite storage. Definitely expected more from Season 1 but I just enjoy playing the game and talking to chat
After nerf of survi it's hot garbage. Rework imprinting system, push QoL changes from D III to D IV, most of them actually were good, D IV lacks some of them, special items for Uber Lilith like maybe 900+ power item levels as reward for killing her. Fix broken builds which can kill Uber Lilith under 2 minutes. At Season 3 maybe it will be playable, but right now it's pointless to play this game.
There is a huge difference between a normal game and a crash grab game. There is a world of difference between developers and artists and the marketing department and the financial department. One tries to make a good game, the other tries to maximazie profits. So no, not every game is a cash grab. They do try to make a profit understanably but it's not the same thing as a cash grab. Don't forget that Shroud is a millionaire and his experiance and value of money is different than most of us.
$70 bucks for a great campaign, and more to do in the map and post-game. I've put 200 hours into the game and I just got it a couple weeks ago, and I'll surely be playing more. Future seasons with added fun, for free. I'd say I have my money's worth. The price of a ticket for a football game that I can only see once costs way more, hardly hear anyone bitching about that.
@@VTM9126 I bought a football 3 years with countless hours of fun for just 20$ plus another 50$ for the shoes and it still holds up well today. The cost of a good gaming rig 1-2k$, forget about the cost of D4 lol.. I'd say I have my moneys worth, in fact my value is more then 100x better then the one you got with added benefit of much cheaper maintenance and operation. Also there are tons of football games played every single day that are free to watch in person and on TV.
I think the point is more that the phrase of saying a 'game is a cash grab' is meaningless; all games are products that are sold for money. If you have specific problems with how a game doesn't respect your time or is poor value for money or has predatory tactics then that is what you should state. Use specific criticisms instead of meaningless buzzwords.
@@jamiea9047 There are plenty games that their sole purpose is to just make money, with some gameplay slapped into them, notably many mobile and gatcha games. You cant tell me that an indie game like Hades and a game like Clash of Clans have similar methods and goals when it comes to profit.
Some real bad generalizations regarding every game being a cash grab. Some exist soley to make cash while others focus heavily on the gameplay experience. There is a scale where a game falls any where inbetween. When someone complains something is a cash grab, they aren't saying there is no intention to make money, they are saying that they focused too heavily on making money and not enough on the the game being great.
And the cash shop is completely cosmetic and optional. The game is also only online, much like a MMO, so having the slightest cash shop is not surprising. The campaign and content in the map is more than enough content for $70. We're getting seasons with additional stuff added into the game for free. Look at all of the positives, stop being so laser-focused on what you consider negative.
Cashshops in fullprice titles shouldnt be ok. Blizzard checking constantly boundaries and people just being ok with it is one of the big problems in todays gaming.

indeed, I thought shroud to be above being bought for a review (since...he's got money) but this is BEYOND curious, their DEVS know it's an issue, it's why they're implementing another stash tab as we speak (and either they made up some BS about how adding more would complicate memory issues like the memory leak they fixed recently...or so they say...OOOOR...they've gotta fire their engineer who coded this crap system and hire Last Epoch's engineers with their Activision/soon to be Microsoft money.) Last Epoch has more stash space than some people KNOW, because they bought 20 tabs with IN GAME gold at a low price and said, i'm good. You don't have to go that far, but at the moment you can have 10 characters. With 4 stash tabs total, that'd mean that if you rolled 2 of each class (over time, or if you're hardcore about the game, maybe you've already done that)...EACH character would be allotted on average LESS than HALF a single stash tab's worth of space, which will be upgraded to EXACTLY half a stash tab's space on average per character whenever they get around to adding ONE stash tab. This is egregious.
@@VTM9126 bro it's an arpg. Every other arpg gives you many stash tabs to collect shit. This isnt some new concept. Plus this isnt the only thing they've done that makes no sense.
@@emarbeats6896 There are stash tabs. 4 in fact. I've used 3 of them, and they're not even full, 2 of them are barely even half full. If you're stocking up on gems, you're a moron, you can recycle your gems. If you're stocking up on useless gear, you're a moron, do some inventory management. There's enough room for different builds. Stacking up on hearts? Look through them, you probably have duplicates. get rid of some, you're not going to be switching rings and amulets that often. It's that simple. People throwing fits over stash tabs is just a reason to bitch at this point. What will it be in the next few weeks. I'm sure asmongold will let everyone know.
Bro said a larger stash would hurt build crafting...make it make sense. Maybe it'll hurt the casual player who cannot understand it. A bigger stash encourages you to collect loot, revisit your spoils, it allows players to become acquatinted with their favorite gear and stats, grow attached to their characters and builds and reminisce about how they got it. Limiting the stash pigeonholes your playstyles and does not incentivize us to branch out, we must stay committed to the path we chose or have to start builds over again. What you said about build crafting still applies if the stash is bigger, you still have choices, you still can be intentional, it's just optional, which I thought the devs wanted. Comparing it to Tarkov is a big misrepresentation because the inventories are meant to accomplish different things.
Revisit your spoils? You want a stash full of stuff you don't use? If you're an altoholic, **maybe** there's a need for more stash space. With 4 characters preseason I was starting to feel the pressure, but with 1-2 it doesn't feel bad at all. Stop holding onto garbage, sell it or salvage it.
@@Vagitarian01 Why would you store it if it's garbage?? You'll store an item because you saw a stat that can synergize to it later on if you managed to get another item... Also it's an option.. If you don't want to use the Stashes then you do you but I doubt anyone will complain if they added 10 stashes because that's what alot of people who play this game alot wants/needs to facilitate theory-crafting... Adding such feature does barely any harm to the game as well and make looting more fun..
The point was that having a limited stash and being forced to choose what to keep and what to not keep is part of the game, just like in tarkov. How are you this fucking dense ofcourse the games are different but he was comparing the stash not the whole game.
I think you are generalizing "every game is a cash grab" by that I mean yes businesses have to do what's in their best interest for profits, but some businesses do that while still being fair to their player base. Diablo is a good game but it is way more monetized than POE. That's just a fact. You can put them both in the same bracket of "for profit" but some companies also fall into the "fair for players" also. Don't forget that Shroud, especially when you consider those in less fortunate financial situation
I've only played PoE a little bit. one thing i noticed more than anything is how much the store is plastered everywhere in the game. its always trying to try to get you to buy microtransactions. that, coupled with buying account upgrades like stash space AND just the sheer amount of more types of microtransactions in general, makes PoE in my opinion, way more of a cash grab than D4 is even close to being
@@theBlackbriar you don't know what you are talking about. Diablo is way worse and its a 70-100$ game instead of being free to play. What an ignorant, uninformed trash comment.
Yeah it sucks, $20+ for a cosmetic in diablo 4 shop. The disblo 4 shop also takes away all the potential cool skin designs because anything that would look brilliant will automatically be sold in the shop for currency, rather than something you earn in game. Diablo 4 isn't pay to win but it's pay to play, just my means that you have to pay for content that should already be in the game. The base armor skins that are free look horrible compared to some of the priced ones.

Cashgrab is quite literally minimal effort / scam in order to essentially "take the money out of your pocket". It is not CREATING A PRODUCT TO SELL FOR PROFIT. Holy shit I can't stand people that try to warp the definition of words like these. They're so dumb.
I am probably the most frugal player ever. Never bought a single skin except maybe 10 yrs ago in CSGO a couple case keys. Bought the base version of Tarkov even though EOD is literally pay to win. Never buy a battle pass in games.. All this to say Diablo 4 is NOT a cash grab at all. Not even close. They regularly release content for free with the exception of the expansion but the base game was well worth $70. I made like 8 characters and got hundreds of hours out of it with new content regularly. Stop slandering good games when shit like COD and BF2042 exist lol
@@ELY-qg2vn Diablo 4 was a 70$ movie that you played once, and they forced you to play over and over (seasons) if you wanted to be immersed in new 'content'.. 70$ is a bad price for a movie... and diablo 4 is a 40 or 50$ game if we only account for the value of the content, they abused the diablo franchise with 3, with diablo 4 they've buried it.. if they try too make a diablo 5 in like 8 years.. they'll be trying their hands at resurrection.
Imagine saying that, how many YEARS (almost 10 i think) did it take for POE to implrement Korac's Vault (their version of a season pass with an actual GOOD looking set, crafted with some love/forethought awesome animations, not just some clothes, but with cool special effects like boots that have cool flame trails or crazy stuff that glows when you crit...making them interesting and to some people WORTH it). Meanwhile Diablo's barrier to ENTRY is 70 USD, and they've got just pretty much all the mobile/f2p transactions ON TOP of that box price with the exception of GACHA style gouging (which you KNOW they'd implement if they hadn't ALREADY done it in Diablo Immortal and gotten massive PR flack for it...because when you're talking cash grab...the VERY DEFINITION OF A CASH GRAB IN 2023 is Diablo Immortal...period).
poe gives you so much currency to encourage or push that it compresses space for everything and that costs you more than 100 $ if you are a casual minimum you buy 50 $ to be able to play " comfortable " , good luck with poe2 = overatch 2 with gay fan graphical fixes

2:32 "part of the game should be considering what you should keep and what not". That's your opinion. And in my opinion you could not be more wrong. I play the game, want to kill mobs, collect loot. I want to experiment with builds, skills, make new alts, try new things, and of course become more powerful as I go along which is what an RPG is all about (with scaling brought over from WoW I suppose this one is dead in the water, but we digress). The LAST thing I want to do is play inventory tetris. It is a looting game. Not an inventory management simulator. Town stash should be almost limitless. I never should have to concern myself with gear storage and inventory management while I am out there killing mobs. I never should have to make mules to store gear. I should never have to load maxroll, run excel sheets or consult guides for every bit of item I cannot store. I have done enough of this with D2, D3 and D2R. You limit my stash, I do not buy your game.
when every game is a cash grab, no game is a cash grab. but other games are crash grabs, and this isn't. perfectly sound, definitely not moving the goalposts.
They should implement what they did in Diablo 3 to Diablo 4 with builds... let us have the option of saving a build, so when we try something new, we can revert back to the original build

I enjoyed the game until the patch with the following complaints. Initially I found stash space, deaths resulting from disconnects, the console player damage nerf and lack of target farming the most disappointing aspects of the game. I also felt somewhat punished by the developers for being a solo player, doubly so on console. I played hardcore at launch on Necro and reached level 100 during the pre-season. I was very excited for season one until the patch hit. Following the patch my interest in the title gradually fell to nothing. I have not played in several days and am very disappointed in the title in general. One word to describe the title would be disappointed. I thought there was a lot of potential and there may still be albeit, I will not know because I have lost all interest in the game. I want it to be a great title I just dont think it is right now. It needs a lot of work to be worth the time investment.

There is as always such a big difference between the hardcore players and casual players. Disagree massively with your sentiment about Diablo not being a "cash grab". Youre a really smart guy from what ive gathered so idk if youre pretending or whats going on. - Yes, every game is a "cash grab" but there are massively different levels. When blizzard first started, yes they wanted to make money, but they were passionate about making games and the same people who owned the company were also the devs. They were a small passionate group, in control of everything themselves. Morals mattered, creating their art so to speak mattered. The biggest difference from then to now is that Blizzard now is a publicly traded company. Their MAIN purpose is to make revenue, it is to make the shareholders happy, no matter what. If they somehow could get away with making an absolute shit game, if that was what maximized their profits, they would. The chain of command is also massively different. The people who have the final say dont work on the game. Their minds are only on profit. There is a massive disconnect between the different parts of the company. All this makes it really hard for the devs who actually care to make the game they want. If it turns into a good game thats fine, but its profit first. Making people addicted first. Making people feel fomo first. Its pushing out content before its ready because they need to meet deadlines first. Its pushing out a game thats not ready because they need to meet deadlines first. Its to withhold vital content (like possibly stashtabs) because you can sell it later instead. The stash space is absolute dogshit. In 30 hours I have filled most of my stash. My 1 level 78 character is hogging all of it. The stash space would be fine for 1 character, it is not fine if you want to make several.
You only use that much because you don't know what's worth keeping yet. If you start a second character, you hardly collect anything. Knowledge becomes the best filter. This is the same process with a majority of mmo inventory issues.

I lasted till about level 90 in pre season. I played that far with my friends and alone just doing dungeons and everything. I would say playing the campaign is what made the first 80 levels even somewhat tolerable. Its a nice mixture of cutscenes, story, and gameplay with a few side activities sprinkled in. But after that, I didn't really see the point in just killing the same monsters, under annoying rather than fun, dungeons affixes just to start scaling to be able to kill lilith. And now that I look back on it, I DESPISE "just" mapping in PoE. T1-5 maps are literally the worst because you have no resources. You literally just have to go in raw. No quality on map. No nothing on the map. And what makes that bearable is the fact that it goes by relatively fast and there are tons of FREE AND FUN league mechanics sprinkled in as well. But also the fact that there is still a loose end of a story, and you now have continued missions to play not just grind to grind. PoE also has more than like, 20 abilities for each class.... And you can play any class with any ability.

What makes it a cash grab is releasing an unpolished piece of shit while having a no refund policy if you play more than 2hours. There is absolutely no way for anyone to gauge whether or not the game is good in 2hours, in fact the start of the game is so time gated that you're gonna spend more of that 2h listening to NPC dialogues than you will playing your character.

Because it’s not lol. There’s nothing P2W at all. Only thing there is to spend money on is the game, the season pass, and cosmetics. It’s definitely not a cash grab game at all. You can go the whole game without even looking at the store. They don’t throw it into your face every chance they get like some games of the same genre do. But yes he’s technically right though. Now we have games like Valorant that are completely free, doesn’t require a single penny spent to compete at the highest level and yet everyone is constantly whining about Riot being greedy for making their cosmetics expensive. They don’t even care that you can get skins in the season pass for relatively cheap, they are just mad that they can’t get the cool skins for free. I really wish the general public would praise the games that do monetization right. I doubt many execs will choose a cosmetics only monetization in the future if they know the community will complain about being greedy no matter what they do.

I’m pretty sure that Elden Ring has no cash shop. Larian Studios doesn’t implement cash shops either.
Elden ring is not an online service game with content updates.
But it has 10x more content than D4
Cashshops in fullprice titles shouldnt be ok. Blizzard checking constantly boundaries and people just being ok with it is one of the big problems in todays gaming.

Stash space argument is mind boggling
indeed, I thought shroud to be above being bought for a review (since...he's got money) but this is BEYOND curious, their DEVS know it's an issue, it's why they're implementing another stash tab as we speak (and either they made up some BS about how adding more would complicate memory issues like the memory leak they fixed recently...or so they say...OOOOR...they've gotta fire their engineer who coded this crap system and hire Last Epoch's engineers with their Activision/soon to be Microsoft money.) Last Epoch has more stash space than some people KNOW, because they bought 20 tabs with IN GAME gold at a low price and said, i'm good.
People shaming the game over stash tabs is mind boggling.
@@VTM9126 bro it's an arpg. Every other arpg gives you many stash tabs to collect shit. This isnt some new concept. Plus this isnt the only thing they've done that makes no sense.

@@VTM9126 The Contrarian Copes. Poetic really

The stash space would be fine for 1 character, it is not fine if you want to make several.
why do you need more than 4 tabs of stash space
You only use that much because you don't know what's worth keeping yet. If you start a second character, you hardly collect anything.
Knowledge becomes the best filter. This is the same process with a majority of mmo inventory issues.

Shroud back at it again with the absolute surface level room temperature IQ takes.
This is why you never trust a content creator, even as one as scummy as Shroud. Remember he made hundreds of thousands off of gifted subs for twitch drops.

It's not a cash grab it's a time sink hours of grinding just to have a patch wipe most of our work.

Common liberal though process. Taking whatever the video says out of context. He said if this game is a cash grab every game is a cash grab. This game is not a cash grab. Are you feeling like a moron today just like every other day of your stupid life. Lol

Even with 4 sets of gear that's only 40-48 slots, less than 1 tab.
Anyone else waiting for Path Of Exhile 2 ?
This video is being disliked so hard and there's a damn good reason for it.
Cutting to the full screen Webcam view wasn't needed. Just keep the gameplay clip on instead of just 4 seconds of something. Made this really hard to tell what the game is like
Season 1 came out and I don’t care 😅
You should grab a shovel and do some relaxing construction work to learn what real work is when you should manage your time next to obligations...
Yup, Shroud became a weird unrelatable stuck up dude.
I dont pay 90$ to play a game with 1/100th the content for PoE nor do I pay for seasonal passes. His argument is terrible from that logic because making money does not mean its a cash grab. The fact that his argument is just other games have monetization isnt an argument because none of them are as egregious as this one. Lack of end game content, limited itemization, boring early game, lack of build diversity the list goes on. If they took literally ANYTHING away from PoE Diablo would have had more diversity and been sustainable but it is not. And their patches they promised have been mediocre. Its fine to enjoy something you like but to blindly say its good just because you like it is dishonest and wrong.

"Every game is a money grab" completely bullshit. Not all games are made strictly to turn a massive profit. There are devs that make games as art. Or just passion projects. Example. Every Civ game. Early, Minecraft
Command and conquer. Any From soft game.
Perfect example is Fromsoft. They know for a fact they would make more money if they added an easy mode but refuse to do it.
Not a cash grab.
I see Shroud opening his mouth, but the words of the Blizzard Check he received are coming out.
Shroud, you do know that the stash isn't a game on its own right? It was a downright bad coding from the devs which heavily limits the number of stashes that we can use. Just stick to FPS games cause some of those takes rivals quin69.
Poe is f2p, d4 is a $70 alfa
So a guy who is an undeserved millionaire and lost touch with reality thinks that 70$ (or 100$) is cheap. BIG surprise.
This is such a cop out. Every game is making money but how they go about is being called into question because Blizzard is very greedy. No questions about it. Its the same issue with Activision's call of duty.
Get off your high horse kid. People pay for it so why should they change the business model. Use your brain and stop acting like corporations care about anything other than increasing profits every year.
Bro is trying to argue about cash grabs when he acquired THOUSANDS of extra subs with the whole "gift subs for mount" promotion. I WONDER WHY THIS DUDE IS DEFENDING THE GAME LMAO. He made a killing off of this scummy marketing ploy. Why couldn't they do normal twitch drops like everyone else? Wonder how much blizzard paid him to make this video.
business is not a cash grab. robbery is a cashgrab... business is business...
In d2r you can use all of your character abilities.
This video made me like shroud. the "qwuality🤓" isn't decreasing because your stash isnt 1 billion slots, Its just more challenging that way, and I think that makes it way better
When he said he liked the stash space I immediately stopped watching and gave him a dislike. What a troll.
if shroud says a game is good it usually sucks. if shroud gets paid to advertise a game, it usually sucks. always a great indicator.

You played 500 hours, i refunded after 5 mins when i realized i couldnt zoom out from that ridiculous POV

The title says diablo 4 review and then it's just 3 people talking at the same time about a stash tab
That's why we have this people called "streamers" and "Content-creators" that is being paid and got a career.... You also have forums to do your research prior, it's your own job to protect yourself from a scam...

I would consider a cash grab games that you can’t finish start-end, or if by buying stuff you can finish faster and easier the game.
So you contradicted yourself
>Every game is a cash grab
>I don’t think this game is a cash grab
Because it’s not lol. There’s nothing P2W at all. Only thing there is to spend money on is the game, the season pass, and cosmetics. It’s definitely not a cash grab game at all. You can go the whole game without even looking at the store. They don’t throw it into your face every chance they get like some games of the same genre do. But yes he’s technically right though. Every game will always try ways to draw you in and spend money. With Diablo 4 they don’t really do that. Like yeah they want you to spend money on the game they just don’t throw the store in your face.
@@ramby4436i haven’t played diablo4 so I don’t know but I believe you. It always surprises me how little people remember about gaming history. There used to be a time where pay 2 win was the default monetization option. Hell in some ways that is still the default option in the mobile gaming space.
Short of just releasing a game for free there doesn’t seem to be a good way to appease these people. Oddly, it seems like something as bad as CSGO’s gambling system is perceived as better somehow. Its great that you can sell skins but gambling is really not a healthy monetization.
@@ramby4436 Wow, someone who thinks before they talk. I like you!
@@ramby4436 " Like yeah they want you to spend money on the game they just don’t throw the store in your face." Yeah, tell that to the shitton of people that accidentally bought the battlepass because their cursor locked onto the buy icon and there was no asking for confirmation if your card info was given.
@@practic4l349 My guy that’s a bug it clearly wasn’t intended on doing that. They still don’t throw the store into people’s faces. People literally have to physically go to the store/season pass. Like I said you can go the whole game without ever looking at them. Unless you actually want to see what’s in it or you want to buy things. Saying a bug is throwing the store into your face. Then personally you’re completely wrong.

I think letting people sell/dismantle from stash might be valuable as well, just to remove the tedium of walking back and forth between stash and merchants
I think there should just be a button to let the game play for you. Because who wants tedium, which is basically what any game is comprised of.
Like, if I buy a game centered around fighting mobs and I don't want to fight mobs, I should be able to click a button and get as much XP as I want.

He was saying to the person in his chat that if he (the person in chat) believes Diablo 4 to be a cash grab, then by that same logic... Every game is a cash grab, because video game companies sole purpose is to make money.
Strawman logic, state Diablo 4 is a cash grab then never explain how it is...

with all of the class nerfs, I had a solution that could become a norm for the live stream. Have the team put together a video of how they built each class while completing a tier 100 nightmare dungeon. Show off how they play without Uber uniques in current patch.
Thanks for the upgrade on my comment. I feel if we all tweet this message, it will change everything. I tweeted this to every Diablo director's page. I feel this makes it to where they understand where we are coming from or makes it more enjoyable for the community with classes. Even if they fudge the video, we can tell because someone will make the build and see if they fudged the video or not. No matter how you look at it, it's a win-win.
Games need to be made with the purpose of entertainment at the forefront, the business side clearly has rotted gaming into a laggy slow netcode pile of colorful mush
well said Yoshi...I mean Sammy :) (no j/k...I definitely respect the old school/down to earth position you view it from...I only wish more of us viewed it that way) I just think it's unfortunate that when you say you're passionate about your hobby, sometimes people just like to mock that for nobody's gain and everyone's loss, cept for shareholders and big corporations that exploit their own developers' love of video games and creativity for the almighty dollar.
