Man is it wild to see people complaining about the Koopalings, because back in the 2000s they basically disappeared, and we had to beg Nintendo to use them again.
Your channel is truly underappreciated. I’ve always found the biggest problem with Nintendo is that they’re games have gotten stupidly easy. It’s Not just because I’ve gotten better either... I imagine people who have only played non-hacked new soup would have a rude awakening when they go to play smb1, lost levels, or smb3
@@Mommavery I agree I think the difficulty is really well thought about, design wise. Every level has a challenge and it’s not rip your hair out type challenges that seem unfair like lost levels.
I think Nintendo need to take a serious look at theses games and give them an eshop release! I would buy them for my Nintendo switch! I stumbled across the Newer Super Mario Bros games a while back and loved it! it felt fresh with the level designs and everything! I couldn't stop playing it!

@Skillaway yes newer ds is better in my opinion due to it being less rough in textures and the level design being more compact but that’s not saying much because I would rather play newer Wii than any of the new super mario bros games because at least the game tried to be unique and while some levels are rough in terms of level design at least they tried.
NSMBW to me is different and much improved compared to NSMB for the DS. They changed the art style, music, and added 4 player co-op. I also love the levels more in NSMBW. Both of those games sold well for a reason. I can't say the same for NSMB2 and NSMBU which reused a lot more things and whatever is new is pretty mediocre.
Is it a bad idea that my least favorite part is the fact that there are no bahs in any of the level themes. It’s a big nitpick but I don’t think it completely is a NSMB Game without them.
You need a legally obtained copy of New Super Mario Bros. Wii and you can either apply the patch to the game on a modded Wii through RiiVolution, or the patch can also be applied using Dolphin emulator. There are plenty of tutorials out there on how to do either of those things.
I wouldn't mind the koopalings so much if they did more than just wave a magic wand and spin back and forth when they get hit. My favorite level has to be the one with the thunder cloud. Straight from mario kart. I also love when you get hit it doesn't kill you instantly it shrinks you. I honestly hate to say it but a fan made game is the best mario platformer i ever played. And its not mario maker. I hate that game because (steal from smosh) every time i play a level its like "who the fuck made this shit." Not like this game. It nostagic while giving me something new. My only complaint is the autoscroll levels. Some i can get behind like a train or elevator level or if your chase by toxic gas clouds. And that skull coaster where you need 30 red rings for a star coin that level can kiss my ass.
Every single song in Super Mario World is a rearrangement of the same song. "Fresh" and "different" do not inherently make a better game. It sounds like you just prefer to play fan made games and hacks. Thats totally fine, but alot of people who have been playing Mario for 30+ simply like having MORE Mario to play.
It’s one thing to utilize a leitmotif throughout your soundtrack. It’s another to recycle the same song across multiple games with minimal changes. That was my main point with the music.
Newer does some unique things that I really appreciated but overall (in my humble opinion) it felt very forgettable because the design was really bland. However the expansion of a typical Mario experience was definitely far superior in newer. Overall, NSMBU is the best 2D Mario game. Change my mind.
I agree. They definitely could have had some more interesting actual level design. However, there’s only so much you can do with a rom hack of a pretty boring game lol
I don’t agree as the world themes are unique I mean what mario game has a whole pumpkin boneyard world or a space world. Yes land 2 did have space but it was only 2 levels and ds did have a spooky pumpkin level but again only like 2 levels. The bosses are unique instead of bowser mario 1 or the koopalings 3 and world. Levels sometimes have unique mechanics like the space levels with zero gravity or thunder bridge. I don’t think the level design is bland when you have unique mechanics. To each their own. I just don’t agree that the level design is bland now if you’re talking about the official game then yes I would say it’s bland.
I don't want to be the devil's advocate here, but OG-Wii is actually rather difficult. Meanwhile Newer is not only quite easy, its as forgiving with 1ups as NSMB2
@@Joe15-ob4te Yeah I love ds slightly better but I would rather play newer Wii than any new super mario bros games. This guy thinks new wiis level design is amazing but I bet I could show levels in that game that are empty like the first level in the game or some of the levels in the desert world. New Wii level design sucks most of the time as it’s not compact but spread out making empty and uninspired level design. Newer wiis level design while might be rough sometimes due to it being a fan game the rough spots are still better because at least there trying to do something unique can’t say the same thing about new wii

After all, I wasn’t citing the ‘bahs’ themselves as the root of the problem. It was more-so the lack of new and original tracks between games.
i hate the bahs so it's better for me
Yeah, the themes that originally had bahs feel kind of empty in Newer.

There’s quite a few, but off the top of my head they added spin tops from Mario Galaxy, a thunder lakitu, and snowmen.
