Despite how many classic styled fan games there has been recently there really hasn’t been that many sonic 1 styled games recently so seeing one here is really neat

The elemental sheilds are so fun to use when you get them, and a challenge to keep it throughout the stage I hope that for the next official 2D sonic game that they return.

I was playing rush earlier at the night carnival level and there were so many bottomless pits and I kept dying (I suck at rush style sonic games I'm hot garbage)

This is a ROM hack that is actively rebuilding the game with 8-bit levels and new levels, all enhanced, with actually new level design (as described in DEPTH by the video developer), all redone arts, new bosses, etc. Sonic 1 Forever, whilst good and having a shared dev or two, has fundamentally different goals.
