    I have never, in over 15 years of wiring, had electrical tape coming unstuck and moving on a wire. Zip ties is over kill, unnecessary and just adds bulk to wiring which in most headunit installs would make it near impossible to get the unit to sit flush with the dash.

    Tip for future viewers. Those wires were twisted for a reason - to prevent radio signal interference (RSI). On today's vehicles, some wires carrying signals can interfere with others so the manufacturers twist them together to "shield" them - commonly found on sensor wires. It would be wise, as you are rooting your wires, to twist them the same amount of twists per foot as the wires you tapped in too to prevent your speaker wires from interfering with sensor wires. You dont do this, and you could have check engine lights and of the sort coming on and/or things not working properly.

    • @Oz_Gnarly_One
      @Oz_Gnarly_One 4 года назад

      In my experience as a sparky doing data and regular power installs, you aren't really stating this right. You should not get sensor issues because the sensor wires are twisted (shielded). The only issue you might get if you didn't twist the speaker cables is you get noise in the speakers. This isn't as much of an issue in a sub woofer setup tho because that interference is usually all high frequency, and the high pass filter in the sub would block them anyway.

    • @Tribusion
      @Tribusion 6 лет назад

      Vlado Petkov depends on what power you mean, If you mean the power itself, I would(and have) installed it directly on the battery (with 60A fuse). If youre tslking about remote (the power that tells the subwoofer/amplifier to turn on) you can draw that power from the fuse box, just make sure the power gets cut when ignition is off, so it doesnt draw power overnight/all the time
