New York Jets 'might have a steal' once Jordan Travis is healthy | Pro Football Talk | NFL on NBC
/ nflonnbc - Спорт
FSU fan here. This guy's a baller who had to work for everything he's accomplished. The Jets got a great player who's willing to put in the WORK, but they got an even better human being. Nothing but love and respect for JT. I cried when he got hurt, but I also knew he'd be back with a smile on his face.
It’s an ankle not knee or anything crazy! He will be fine
Jets are finally taking the right approach I hope it pays off
As a Jets fan I LOVE Jordan Travis
They acting like it was an awful pick in the mid to later rounds. This young man had an undefeated team he was leading but got injured.
If he get's healthy this could very well be the steal of the quarterbacks especially if he can get two years to get his body together and it may not take that long because of his youth...
Kids a baller and great human.
Last year proved that you always need a QB in the development pipeline, Jordan Travis fits that blueprint perfectly. He's has lots of potential, he inexpensive, and it gives the Jets more options in a few seasons when Rogers hangs them up.
Why is the overlay for the team logo on the inside of the text and player image? Switch the logo and player image around and you get the full logo. And you can outline that overlay with a gradient of the teams colors. Just my two cents
A laser in a key hole ? Lmao Brady and Montana didn’t have that either. Not saying this kid is that but you don’t need that kinda arm to succeed in the nfl. Most times that kinda arm talent becomes a bust , it’s what’s between the ears that matters the most.
Jordan was balling at FSU before his injury. He’s more experienced and better suited for QB than Zach in my opinion. If Aaron goes down again, I think Jordan can win.
I mean Travis got Zach Wilson’s dream scenario. He gets to sit behind Rodgers, but with Tyrod Taylor there’s little pressure on him to get on the field so he can focus on nothing but developing and his coaching will be geared completely to that. He won’t have to worry about preparing for the next matchup.
Yep. The Jets failed Darnold by not building around him and then they failed Zach by forcing him to play with a well built team when he wasn't ready to lead it. Mistakes that were well rectified this year by taking Travis and adding Taylor. Then there's the BEEF they added up front. Watching a capable GM learn and do his work is a beautiful thing.
totally agree that the team is way more prepared to help a qb grow but on top of that, travis is a helluva better prospect than Zach was because he went undefeated this past season and was a heisman favorite at one point. his team would've been in the college football playoff if it wasn't for the injury and he easily would've been a 1st rd guy. it's equal parts robbery and genius what Joe D did with this pick
@@MoMoMyPup10both sucked and the Jets misevaluated the potential of both.
The Jets will forever pay for passing on Josh Allen in 2018…
@@chetjablonski1993 so did the 31 other teams 🤡🤡
A fifth round draft choice is not a lot to lose on a gamble.
If he didn't have the injury he would have been a late 1st round early 2nd round
Imma die hard Seminole fan. So, as a jets fan, i lost my freaking mind when we got Jermaine Johnson and i went crazy cool when i heard jets drafted Jordan Travis 💯
Jets finally did the smart thing with the QB position
It was a dislocated ankle with no ligament damage - he’ll be just fine
Thank you for that tid bit. I am an FSU fan but didn't get to see much of them this pass season and didn't know what the injury was...
ZW and JT are both 24 years old
Who cares about Zach Wilson?
Yup and one has proven what he is at the NFL level and one hasn’t
I still believe that the Jets shouldn’t have traded Zach
This can allow Jordan to wait and LEARN
He’s a wonderful young man, a leader of man!!!
No one wants to see a player injured, with that said it’s probably best for Jordan’s development. He can sit for a year and learn the game from two veterans. The same thing happened to Hendon Hooker from last year’s draft. I think Travis and Hooker, will benefit tremendously from sitting a year.
I still will say I have no idea how Tualia didn't get drafted. He's easily should've been a 3rd or 4th rounder. That guy can play and be a Brock Purdy
lol then you havent watched him play. His noodle arm is 10 times worse than his brothers and we all know how average Tua is...If he wasnt Tua's brother he wouldve been playing D2/3
@@myvideos1125 you realize he won the elite 11 competition for strongest arm of all QBs coming out of high school... He doesn't have a noodle arm at all, it's stronger than Tuas. You just have to be a Tua hater to say stuff like that
@@myvideos1125 just a list of QBs he beat out: Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix, Max Dugan, Sam Howell, Spencer rattler
@@myvideos1125 Tualia imo isn't all that great, but arm strength is certainly not a weakness
He’s got a noodle arm… That’s why he wasn’t drafted. And having a strong arm, isn’t everything, far from it… But it is very much the arm of a an average highschooler
Jt is the best qb that came out if the draft
Hopefully the scouts are right.. they weren't with wilson
Hehehe...I wouldn't be surprise if Wilson is the starter out there in Denver. I saw some growth in him this past season...
Imagine being such a good QB that when youre injured the committee snubs your whole team from the college playoffs 🤷
I know he will be ready when the time comes for his number to be called . I'm big fan of #13
If they did a miles morales version of Superman he would look like Jordan Travis
Florio goes immediately to the worst case scenario. The Dr. Doom shit is exhausting when the guy has …. NEVER PLAYED A DOWN IN THE NFL
I think when you look at guys like Zach Wilson and then Purdy let’s say for example, maybe the nfl should start realizing maybe these qbs are being drafted too high and sometimes too low and should be looked at a little more extensively. But I guess media and leakage of info from teams, misinformation all leads to rise and fall of players too
Having a person who played the game talk about a player you take what they say a little more serious. Just my opinion
Lot of work to do. Not accurate as a passer. Was throwing to excellent receiver with huge catch radius. His throws were not on the mark. Let’s hope Saleh and Hack job can develop him.
I hope this guy turns out to be a steal!
They love drafting “JORDAN” to sit behind Rodger’s….. last Jordan was prettt good
There's too many critics and not enough doctors or surgeons speaking on athletic injuries. You guys are specialist at football the game, not of the body. Everyone thought Adrian Peterson wouldn't comeback as fast and effective. Surgeons are way better now more than ever in history. Let time tell for it self. This will show how much of a competitor travis is
Jordan Travis was a Rodgers pick. I think he gave them the idea of who he can groom. Kids going to develop from watching two pros play and prepare.
Hell no not as long as their OC is there not happening they couldn't develop two 1st Rd QB's they not developing this guy either. Jets can't develop QB's that's why the mortgage their future for a 40 year old Rodgers
Thank you. I agree completely. Until they get an offensive minded coach and OC that uses a modern offensive system, they will be 25th in offense or lower.
@@14downtown preach because most people swear if Rodgers didn't get hurt they would've been fine but last time I checked Rodgers last season with packers wasn't good either. Jets could've still made playoffs or had better season if they didn't let Rodgers be GM instead of bringing in Wentz or Flacco or anyone better then the bums they brought in. If Jets couldn't develop Darnold or Zach Wilson watch them ruin this guy who might not even be anything special anyway.
Maybe another team would have had a steal, but we're talking about the quarterback killer Jets. The Jets routinely ruin highly talented top prospects. They don't have a prayer of developing a marginal talent.
Keon Coleman made this dude and now the Jets have to deal with him 2x/year.
Good luck with that!
Lol 😂Travis played with Keon Coleman 1yr in 2023😂, Keon Coleman was not on FSU in 2021 and 2022 he was @ MSU and transferred
Just talking 😂 do better sir
chris simms has no credibility with QB's coming out of college zach wilson...
He did say mahomes was the most special talent before the 2017 draft
By your logic then who said Wilson was going to be a bust Before that draft
Is everyone with no credibility???
Chris Simms correctly predicted CJ Stroud over Young. I'd say Simms' QB scouting talent skill is one of the best.
@@The5hark ok i'll give him some time...
Zach Wilson who went to the Jets where young and raw QBs get ruined … So no, the ZW thing has been largely a destruction job by the Jets. QBs are more likely to be ruined if drafted by the wrong team.
Life long fsu fan. They don't. He was average in college.
C’mon!!! This team has not been to the SB since 1962. Despite all your make believe enthusiasm….the JustEndTheSeason aren’t going anywhere for the next 50 years except last place.
The franchise should be ended like yesterday.
Tell that to the lions
Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons, Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Chargers, Minnesota Vikings, and Tennessee Titans. Never won a Super Bowl at all so I guess they should just end the franchise.
Plus, the Jets won in 1969.
@@someguy9301 1969….? Thats over a half century ago. For a team that’s all air…translates into a very small balloon.
@@jean-pierremestanza8186 I like the Lions this year
I preferred Spencer Rattler, he has way better tools
Jordan Travis is not an NFL QB - At best, he is a glorified running back. He will be a colossal failure.
Jordan Travis was drafted by the Jets, sooooooooo probably SHUNNED & SHAMED by Jets fans base, and on a new team in 3 years. I hope he gets a decent chance to reset his NFL career after it doesn't work out with the Jets.
He would have been a first round prospect if he wasn't injured
As a Jet fan I find it hilarious that some people give us the lion share of the credit for our QBs sucking. No no no its not the GM’s fault for drafting bums, its the fans fault for booing them after 3 years of horrific play.
What a crappy take.
@@SleepyRainTrain I'm not blaming the fans. Actually, I didn't mention any blame; I was making a joke that these quarterbacks, once they find their way to a decent organization, start finding success. But of course it's the players fault and not the J.E.T.S Jets Jets Jets. It will be interesting to see how Sam and Zach fare with a real organization supporting them.
@@josephgrounds1048 the problem with high draft pick QBs, once they move on from the original teams that drafted them, the bust label will follow them and it is very hard to lose the label. I have no doubt if Sam or Zach had gone to more competent franchises, their stories would have played out differently. Who knows if Sam will ever get a chance to be a decent starter in the league. For Zach, if he actually beats out the other QBs in Denver and have a good year with the Broncos, he has a very good chance to be a good starter. I think overall Zach is better than Sam.
Are we going to forget him abandoning his teammates by sitting out the Covid year? That's not a leader, sorry.
How can you be mad at anyone for not playing through a pandemic? I think you are the only one crying about it, his teammates all love him.
Bro he’s a leader like he was in high school if you don’t know him personally don’t comment
Ok. I know who you support.
He got picked in the 5th round if he's a bum i doubt anyone is going to ask any questions 😂
I like listening to Chris Simms and was pumped with his review of ZW !
I’ll NEVER BELIEVE THIS GUY AGAIN
C’Mon man !!!
BYE Chris. Loved watching your dad play and I’ll listen to his opinions. 🫵
So you’re going to ignore that the Jets ruined ZW and assume that the Jets gave him the best situations to succeed during his development?
