    Great report Mike!
    Re: Habs & Evans: hope they can sign him for reasonable salary.
    Re: Hutson: off the board comment: If this kid doesnt get serious Calder consideration there is something wrong!!! Id pick him over Celebrini. Hutson had another multipoint night tonight with 1 G, 2A. This kid is outstanding. He's got my vote at this 1/2 way point in the season.
    Re: IIHF World Jrs: congrats US. Finns blew it BUT the better team won. Canada was terrible and an embarassment given the talent available that were overlooked. It is a wake-up call for sure.

    JTM for Zibby is an absolute non starter. Why would the Canucks ship out an over-performing contract for an under-performing contract showing signs of massive regression. 0.0% chance.

      Yeah and Friedman said VAN has no interest in Zibanejad so the NYR homers that keep pushing that are just praying to the hockey gods. Miller is still a good player unlike Zibanejad.

    • @crawlFace
      @crawlFace 16 дней назад

      Because you folks are refusing to read between the lines... JT burnt bridges with teammates, recently and over the years. Zib is beloved with his team and still highly skilled. The reality is each player has a contract that has relatively the same risk of not aging well or they still produce well for a few more years. If any trade swap rumours are true, it doesn't mean it makes sense for NY- probably just a Drury foolishness.

    Boeser's overall game is not worth what he's being paid now, imo. An extension seems a bad use of cap space as Lekkerimaki is on the cusp of being ready for a similar role on an ELC. Why not use that salary slot to upgrade their top 4 on the blueline?

      The NHL is very aggressive and strict when it comes to the issue of people other than official NHL broadcast-partners using video coverage (even brief highlights) of its' teams' on-ice activities (regular season games included). This is a point that Mike has addressed in his videos, on previous occasions.
      Were Mike to actually chance his arm and use the kind of highlights clips that you are hinting at, then he would almost certainly be hit with an immediate YT-copyright strike (likely due to the direct intervention of the NHL itself OR one of its' teams). 1-2 more of those copyright strikes and 'Top Shelf Hockey' would be permanently banished from YT, very soon afterwards. As
      Mike has worked extremely hard for years, to bring the channel up to its' current levels of activity and popularity, so he would be effectively pointing a gun at the channel's 'head' and then pulling the trigger, were he to actually try pushing this issue -- and his luck -- here🤯. This is precisely why he does NOT do so and I, for one, am very glad that he chooses caution over reckless risk in this matter.
      I hope that this briefly explains the unhelpful 'behind-the-scenes' situation that is actually in play here, to you. Enjoy your hockey out there👍!

You cant add the first two teams out west .18 teams is west 16 in east , no way.

    If Miller will only go to the Rangers, then NY have all the leverage especially if the Canucks want to keep Pettersson and move Miller. Getting Lafreniere is delusional, a 1 for 1 for Mika is probably the best offer Drury will give Vancouver, and tell them to take it or leave it. If the choice is that or trading Pettersson, then they may have to bite the bullet. Zibanejad is a good player and had some great seasons in NY, but he seems to have lost all confidence and maybe he can refind his form on another team, but the ages and contracts are similar and I suspect if a deal is made, that will be it.

    • @michaelmignone5869
      @michaelmignone5869 15 дней назад

      Swapping cap hits for the player having a much worse season being the best offer is what's delusional. Not a chance vancouver moves miller for zib straight up, that makes no sense for them, they save no cap space are are instantly worse with no pick or prospect to balance it out. That's not gonna happen

  • @Lyonheartdynamic
    @Lyonheartdynamic 16 дней назад

    Zibenajad could be Dynamic with Pettersson...He's finding his game. They're 4 Nations teammates for a reason, and despite JTs performance, the Habs just pumped the Nucks for 5. No way I include a 1st Rounder or Laf in that deal...Rangers are in a great position to keep clearing Cap, play the kids, end up with a top 5 pick, and go all in on a quality UFA class.

  • @DanSmith-k4p
    @DanSmith-k4p 15 дней назад

    Thing is Buffalo is not giving up Power in the deal for Pettersson because Byram is not likely to sign long term with Buffalo. If Byram will sign long term with Buffalo then Power can be on the table. However If we are talking Power, Cozens and a 1st, there needs to be more than Pettersson coming back in the trade. If its Byram, Cozens, a top 5 protected 1st, for Pettersson and Myers that might be a good trade. Taking Myers contract off their hands would be valuable to the Canucks.

    • @crawlFace
      @crawlFace 16 дней назад

      I think it's a bad move. NY trading for Miller makes a lot of sense if they're making a play-off run, but it's likely they don't have the right combo of players- specifically the right combo of D. So now what, stash Miller for a few years of re-tooling? Yeah right. NY needs to move their proven skilled players for prospects- it's the only inevitable way if they're lucky. I say "lucky" because some of those contracts may be difficult to move or move at all.
