    I have this cooler with a standard 120mm Noctua fan in Hyte Revolt 3 case with 5800X3D. I do have the CPU limited to 100 watts. Usually runs around 60° while gaming and 70° during Cinebench run.

    Love this. Been looking for the perfect low profile cooler. This has the right price and clearance. Great reviews man

    Planning on building in a case with 75mm of CPU cooler max clearance. Would be interested to see how this cooler performs when paired with those 20mm Inwin fans you tested recently! Would also be very interested in seeing how this compares to the Scythe Big Shuriken 3, as they are the same height.

      The ThermalRight C12015 should perform slightly better than the inwin AM120s. I'll ask scythe if they can send me 1.

    Hi I'm struggling to understand your normalization of this data. Lets look at the 87W data. The bottom spot of AMD Wraith has a dBa of 35.5 dB at full speed, only 0.5 dBA over the normalization level of 35dB, and its normalized temp goes up 3 degrees?? Meanwhile the top spot IceGem 360 has a dBa level of 50.1 dBA, a whole 16.1 dBA over the 35 dB norm level, and its temp normalized only goes up 2.4 dB? How does that make sense? If you're normalizing data to a set level, the data that had sound levels the closest to that set level should move the least, while the ones that had a full speed sound level the farthest from 35dBA should move the most. Right?

    This should mostly be used in an open air case if using a mid to both end cpu

    I always thought the additional fan clips were different, one set for 25mm fans and one set for 15mm fans. I never paid much attention I guess!

      I believe you are correct, but they didn't label them. The SI 100 had 2 sets of clips as well, but they where labeled.

    Nice review! Have you thought about getting some be quiet coolers to compare it to? I know they sent reviewers samples for the pure rock lp this year to some youtubers

    • @HardwareForGamers
      @HardwareForGamers  Год назад +1

      I have not asked be quiet for any of there air coolers, they just sent me there pure loop 2 fx aio. I can ask them for some air coolers and see if they will. What would you like to see me test?

    Solid review. How good is the included Thermalright 120mm A-RGB fan vs ARCTIC P12 PWM PST A-RGB?

    • @HardwareForGamers
      @HardwareForGamers  Год назад +2

      Max performance, I believe the C12015 will beat the p12 by a little bit, however the C12015 will be louder.

    I'd rather have the heatpipe orientation facing the ram so that the cooler could blow onto the VRM instead.

    • @HardwareForGamers
      @HardwareForGamers  Год назад

      it is possible, now the fan will be blowing on the VRM heatsink either way.

    Hi. You are the only one mentions at 3.10 that the ram clearance is 45mm which suits me unbelievably but all the other reports are at about 40 or 42mm Which is true?

    • @HardwareForGamers
      @HardwareForGamers  9 месяцев назад

      First, it is possible to rotate the cooler to have the cooler's heatsink over the vrm heatsinks which shouldn't interfere with the RAM.
      Second, regular the RAM clearance. I measured the cooler I received and it had a clearance of 44-45 mm, so I'm not sure what else to say. It's possible that the cooler may have been bent too much...
      Hope that helps

      @@HardwareForGamers First solution with Asus b760i isnt viable due to the heatsinks just everywhere around the mobo. Second I won t find out since I went with corsair /kingston low profile to be on safe side. I wanted e specific 6400mhz kingston but it was 44 and thw order was from abroad . Thanks though.

  • @Austin-ou2kf
    @Austin-ou2kf Год назад

    The ram clearance compatibility is 40mm not 45mm, this is very important as the most popular argb ram kits (trident z neo) are 44mm and would fit with your stated clearance. They will not actually fit as the limit is 40mm

    • @HardwareForGamers
      @HardwareForGamers  Год назад

      Where are you getting this 40mm clearance from? Because the DIMMs I'm showing (g.skill flareX) are 40mm and there's 4-5mm between the top of the DIMM and the bottom of the cooler...

      Overclocked or at full boost likely not. At stock maybe... If you undervolt it most likely, if you're just gaming.

      i’ve paired it with 13700k and it need a serious undervolt 😅. i set power limit to 105w and max temp now hover under 80c but goes 95c at 125w. (note : i live in hot country ambient ~30c during the day)

    Pls dont use this cooler with the Fan it comes with. Use a dedicated Fan cuz the cooler itself is insane for a low profile one. The Fan is just trash lmfao
