Well, sometimes you get what has been demanded. Too many Kentucky fans were screaming for his removal. Now, that wish is granted: gone! I do not expect recruiting to remain at the same level but it's possible, heck, even likely that the coaching of the players will improve. Calipari was a great hire for Arkansas. What Barnhart does now is critical to Kentucky. They cannot blunder like UCLA...a blueblood that has quietly become irrelevant. The old Bluebloods, less Kansas, are not as dominant (championship year): North Carolina (2017), Duke (2015), Kentucky (2012), UCLA (1995). Newer Bluebloods: Connecticut and Villanova plus Kansas (incredible run of BIG 12 championships) have emerged as more dominant. BUT, Kentucky is still an A-1+ program. Choose wisely to keep that status. I think that either Nate Oats or Jay Wright would be a perfect fit. GBO!
This is the best move for both parties. He wasn’t the guy for Kentucky any longer. Like they said on the panel, I think he’s gonna do great at Arkansas because he’s going to be rejuvenated, but he wasn’t doing that for us. His voice was stale, his scheme didn’t work, his recruiting wasn’t even the same at times. Best if we just go our separate ways, but you better believe that Kentucky basketball will find the right guy.

As his harshest critic for 9 years, as a Kentuckian, and fan for 56 years, I will applaud him when he comes back to Rupp. He walked amongst us for many years, he wanted to be the coach of the greatest thing going. From his hiring press conference in 2009, when he said, “I recruit talent over experience”, I knew we were in trouble, because in that sentence, you throw out history and knowledge. Should have been called out then. But still I kinda like the guy for he is a Kentucky Colonel, and he called the bluegrass home, I will show some form of appreciation. Same with Pitino.

Gotta be Chris Beard for Kentucky. In 3 SHORT YEARS Beard turned Texas Tech around - won the Big12 regular season, Beard won Big12 coach of the year (twice) AND took Texas Tech to their first national championship game ever. Beard then went on to Texas to fix Shaka Smart's failing mess. In 2 SHORT YEARS Beard built a team that won the Big12 and made it to the elite 8. While Shaka at Texas before that missed March Madness 3 times and lost in the round-of-64 three times. Also Chris Beard comes from great coaching pedigree - assisted with Bobby Knight. One more thing - Beard replaced Tubby Smith at Texas Tech ... we all know Tubby right ;) It's time to get over the "baggage" that Ole Miss took care of and move on.
I just want true transparency in the UK mens basketball program. I want players that will play for the name on their jerseys. Go with that and I will be happy.
As a KY MBB fan since 1978, I say goodbye and good riddance to Calipari. He should have been gone 5 years ago. I actually stopped watching the team, because of him, that's how sick of him I was. Can't wait to get a fresh start with a new coach. This has been LONG overdue.

Matt Jones was one of the primary reasons for the toxic climate for Cal. I mean blasting Cal on 50 radio stations daily had nothing to do with it at all did it. As Cal is the winningist active Coach in NCAA mens division one B ball. I guess thats the Duke in him. I heard this from several of my eastern KY friends who are season ticket holders for over 40 years. Also Cal and his players helped Eastern and Western KY many times over with fundraisers after natural disacters giving millions to help Kentuckians. All while Mr jones was bashing Cal. As that is his main reason for doing this Not cause he is a fan. Cause fans support there Coach and team. Not by doing what KSR did to Cal. Its why Cal ignored KSR. There is no KSR without Cal. As no one would have even paid any attention to this show until after the 2012 year. In 2010 and 2011 its was all crickets on there show. Now they act like they are UK which is kinda funny that so many have bought there stuff. The only true fan at KSR is Ryan Lemon In my humble opinion. He is a good fan and supporter of all UK sports and he didnt go to DUKE!

@@aaronrose5118 As an actual UK fan 4 life, easily forgotten 2019 before the SEC tournament and ultimately the NCAAs UK was easily a final 4 team, perfect mix of young and veteran players. Who knows what could have happened, the only 1 that could have beaten us was Kansas.

@@aaronrose5118 I'd almost agree with you except that 2019 team, my biggest fear is Bruce Pearl and or his Caliper of Coach someone who isn't made like Cal, he took all the pressure off his players and accepted responsibility for every single loss. He doesn't take the shots, rebound and he didn't leave until he was pushed out. The top of the top coaches see this too.
He was a professional and took alot of pressure off the kids. We needed a change both sides, Kentucky will be in a position where the fans will be able to see what it's like without a top tier coach, the biggest names will not come to be criticized at every move and then get fired. Sad
Cal has never been a good coach. He is a great recruiter, one of the best of all time but he is not a good on the floor coach. Look at the data its very clear. He has great players every year but almost always underperforms because he is not a good coach. He success has come from leaning on /using the skills of the great players he recruited. Even a decent coach would/ should have won a few more titles with the teams we have had at UK. You can spin it however you want but the data makes it clear he is a great recruiter but not a great coach. The only reason we a title in 2012 was because Anthony Davis was out of this world good. He carried UK on his back to win that title. Take the 2012 anomaly out of the equation and Cal's time at UK looks even worse. So much potential with very little results.

Actually XNA has 22 non -stop destinations and 33 passenger flights scheduled a day to take off from XNA. LEX has 16 non-stop destinations and 23 scheduled flights to take off from LEX. Which makes it a little harder to get to Lexington.

It’s obvious that Matt jones is so exited that has finally left he acts like he’s spokes person for the Kentucky sports the man is 65 yrs old he’s tired hearing the fans complain and complain and really looks like jones can’t stand him simply cause he hasn’t been on his ksr radio program for yrs I’ll agree with part of this situation that cal has brought it on himself when all he uses is freshmen this is what happens freshmen are still kids not adults yet and kids this day and time are no where mature enough to make average decisions little lone big time basketball game decisions I’m afraid no other will come to this job there’s so much on the basketball coach here I know this because I live here and use to live and die for ky basketball but I’m 58 yrs young now and I’ve seen a lot of things surrounding sports at Kentucky that I disagree with for one is the football coach just has to win 6or 7 games and as long as he does that everyone is ok with it don’t make no sense he makes 9 million dollars a year so I’ve heard just ain’t right but I’m just an uk basketball fan

As his harshest critic for 9 years, as a Kentuckian, and fan for 56 years, I will applaud him when he comes back to Rupp. He walked amongst us for many years, he wanted to be the coach of the greatest thing going.
From his hiring press conference in 2009, when he said, “I recruit talent over experience”, I knew we were in trouble, because in that sentence, you throw out history and knowledge. Should have been called out then.
But still I kinda like the guy for he is a Kentucky Colonel, and he called the bluegrass home, I will show some form of appreciation. Same with Pitino.

Gotta be Chris Beard for Kentucky. In 3 SHORT YEARS Beard turned Texas Tech around - won the Big12 regular season, Beard won Big12 coach of the year (twice) AND took Texas Tech to their first national championship game ever. Beard then went on to Texas to fix Shaka Smart's failing mess. In 2 SHORT YEARS Beard built a team that won the Big12 and made it to the elite 8. While Shaka at Texas before that missed March Madness 3 times and lost in the round-of-64 three times. Also Chris Beard comes from great coaching pedigree - assisted with Bobby Knight. One more thing - Beard replaced Tubby Smith at Texas Tech ... we all know Tubby right ;) It's time to get over the "baggage" that Ole Miss took care of and move on.

Matt Jones was one of the primary reasons for the toxic climate for Cal. I mean blasting Cal on 50 radio stations daily had nothing to do with it at all did it.
As Cal is the winningist active Coach in NCAA mens division one B ball. I guess thats the Duke in him. I heard this from several of my eastern KY friends who are season ticket holders for over 40 years. Also Cal and his players helped Eastern and Western KY many times over with fundraisers after natural disacters giving millions to help Kentuckians. All while Mr jones was bashing Cal.
As that is his main reason for doing this Not cause he is a fan. Cause fans support there Coach and team. Not by doing what KSR did to Cal. Its why Cal ignored KSR. There is no KSR without Cal. As no one would have even paid any attention to this show until after the 2012 year. In 2010 and 2011 its was all crickets on there show. Now they act like they are UK which is kinda funny that so many have bought there stuff.
The only true fan at KSR is Ryan Lemon In my humble opinion. He is a good fan and supporter of all UK sports and he didnt go to DUKE!

@@aaronrose5118 As an actual UK fan 4 life, easily forgotten 2019 before the SEC tournament and ultimately the NCAAs UK was easily a final 4 team, perfect mix of young and veteran players. Who knows what could have happened, the only 1 that could have beaten us was Kansas.

@@aaronrose5118 I'd almost agree with you except that 2019 team, my biggest fear is Bruce Pearl and or his Caliper of Coach someone who isn't made like Cal, he took all the pressure off his players and accepted responsibility for every single loss. He doesn't take the shots, rebound and he didn't leave until he was pushed out. The top of the top coaches see this too.

Cal has never been a good coach. He is a great recruiter, one of the best of all time but he is not a good on the floor coach. Look at the data its very clear. He has great players every year but almost always underperforms because he is not a good coach. He success has come from leaning on /using the skills of the great players he recruited. Even a decent coach would/ should have won a few more titles with the teams we have had at UK. You can spin it however you want but the data makes it clear he is a great recruiter but not a great coach. The only reason we a title in 2012 was because Anthony Davis was out of this world good. He carried UK on his back to win that title. Take the 2012 anomaly out of the equation and Cal's time at UK looks even worse. So much potential with very little results.
