So I’ve hired 2 videographers to help me cover expo west. We will mainly be focusing on trailers, and truck campers but then will also get gear and accessories. So there will be a lot of content from this one event
People never put awnings over the back doors and with those really long pull out sliding drawers you’d never be able to access anything in the rain or heavy snow without getting so much water in there that everything rusts including the sliders
I like the Redtail overland hardside tent for windy conditions. Could get hot in the summer though. Now many creative manufacturers call their product insulated and 4 season. But I imagine they mean four season being winter in Arizona or Baja not Minnesota. Sure with a -40 sleeping bag I can sleep on the ground next to the vehicle and not have to deal with inner wall condensation.
@@derekmanshanden4544 That's what I was thinking geez these things are spendy. I just looked at the Cedar ridge. About $30k... I think I would rather build exactly what I need.
Seriously 9 hour video? who has time to watch a 9 hour video. I think this has a huge amount of information. it should have been divided with chapter marks so it makes referencing your information much easier to retrieve. I would have split this in a 9 part series, each about 1 hour, which for youtube can be rather long. Thank you for your extensive coverage of these shows. No other channel does this type of coverage.
So yes, you are correct on splitting this video up, which I have done already. I have other videos, that’s just truck campers and another one that’s just trailers. I wanted to put out a mega video to see how it would do. I almost see this as a video that a shop would just put up in the background.
@@WelcomeToTheOutdoors You know that is not a bad idea. I still think chapters would have been terrific. I was playing this in the background while taking down christmas decorations.
Good. Without an honest critique like you used to do, the new product info is just an amalgamation of video press releases. Your honesty before was refreshing, but apparently there is no money in honesty unless you are Consumer Reports and can afford to buy the products you review. Did you have to share these people that you weren’t going to critique their products in order to get them to let you film a tour? I am embarrassed to say I only fairly recently learned “Ambassador” = compensated influencer And I consider myself a skeptic
So this video is more for people who were unable to attend any of these shows or wanted to see more. It’s more to show people how much different product is out there and they themselves can decide if they want to look more into something. And yes, you are correct about the Ambassador situation. For all of these videos, there was no compensation of anything. I told the reps what I said in the first paragraph. It’s just a chance for them to be seen because there is a ton of products that I have never heard of before
@@WelcomeToTheOutdoors I did’t suspect you were paid for a second and I hope I didn’t give you the opposite impression. Just lamenting when you felt you could be more frank and express your opinion. On these you are not expressing an opinion either way so you would not be required to divulge compensation even if you had received some. I’m not naïve anymore and I realize the only way consumer reports can exist is because they can afford to buy the products they review, even cars, because nobody would give or loan their crappy product to them for a review. There is so much money in this industry that it’s sad the illegal practices that are happening by many influencers on RUclips. Looks like it’s going to take a few lawsuits like Casper mattress filed against an influencer to change that. Ironically Casper mattress ended up doing the very thing they filed a lawsuit about. I know at least one major influencer thAt calls everybody that compensates him a “friend”.
@@GOLDVIOLINbowofdeath I have some plans to help with all of that, it’s just currently all of my money is going into a van build. And I’ll have to look into that Casper mattress lawsuit
HQ a trailer should try a little harder and not put CHINESE tires on these expensive or any units. Can you imagine filling that little diesel reservoir and keeping it clean in the position it is in?
The overland under budget guy is very resourceful. Nice rig kept fairly light
Love these long videos, fingers crossed 2023 holds another 10 hours of content🤞

Appreciate the hard work that was put into this!
Thank you!
I love seeing so many optimistic entrepreneurs, but I wonder how many of these companies will exist in 5 years.
That was awesome… cheers
I can't imagine how long it took to put all this together
The longest part was setting all the chapters

Look at 270 awnings. Big country 4x4 makes a solid one that you don’t have to put down legs for support.

good
Nice seeing all those items but I prefer doing lots more with less stuff.
9 HOURS ??? 🤯
GET YOUR CONTENT!
9 hr video? holy smokes.
For all the ones who are unable to attend an expo
The townace is nice but steering on the right is dangerous. Cameras might help though.
The guy with the mask on at 1:03:00 clearly needs to take it off, he's having a hard time breathing.
I watched at 1.75 speed. You can still understand the presenters but it goes by faster!
Yes, I watch most of my RUclips videos at 1.75 - 2x the speed
