    the path to myfolder via stata is similar to the path to my folder via my computer.
    when I type "sysdir set PLUS G:\...." I get the following: "invalid syntax"

      Try putting the folder path in quotes, as in "G:\..."

    hello could you assist with installing spost, I used ''ssc install spost'' because I wanted to use the brant command to assess if assumptions of proportional odds are violated for ordinal logistic regression.

    Hi, thank you for your great explanation, I need to install ssc install xtcsd, but the result is :
    ssc install xtcsd
    checking xtcsd consistency and verifying not already installed...
    installing into c:\ado\plus\...
    could not rename c:\ado\plus\stata.trk to c:\ado\plus\backup.trk
    r(699);
    I even tried to use an option "replace
    "
    . ssc install xtcsd, replace
    checking xtcsd consistency and verifying not already installed...
    installing into c:\ado\plus\...
    could not rename c:\ado\plus\stata.trk to c:\ado\plus\backup.trk
    r(699);

    wow! but keep getting this
    invalid syntax
    when ever i type sysdir set PLUS C:\Users\LENOVO\Desktop\stata packages
    don't know what's wrong pls i need your help. but for the packages they keep installing successfully but i cant see any thing in my STATA package folder. does it mean i will keep installing every time i use STATA for my data analysis?

    • @sebastianwaiecon

      The problem is that your folder called "stata packages" has a space in it. Put quotation marks around the entire file path and it should work.

    Package installed, estout installed, but for my command essto: ttest scorechange, by(Ownership) it says "last estimation results not found, nothing to store". In order words, I do not get the variable table after putting in the command with eststo. Thank you in advance!

    • @sebastianwaiecon
      @sebastianwaiecon  3 года назад

      I believe you need to use estpost with ttest, not eststo. See the manual: repec.org/bocode/e/estout/hlp_estpost.html

    how do i delete or make a new one without restating stata?

      In Windows, navigate to the directory you installed the packages and delete them.

      @@sebastianwaiecon sysdir set PLUS D:\Stata Packages

    • @sebastianwaiecon
      @sebastianwaiecon  5 лет назад +5

      Stata doesn't know how to deal with spaces in directory names. Two ways to solve this: 1. Put quotes around the directory "D:\Stata Packages" or 2. Delete the space in the directory name.

    Respected Sir,
    estout commands seems quite useful and i want to use it but unfortunately, i can not use it because following problem appears:
    ssc install estout
    checking estout consistency and verifying not already installed...
    the following files already exist and are different:
    c:\ado\plus\e\estadd.ado
    c:\ado\plus\e\estadd.hlp
    c:\ado\plus\e\estout.ado
    c:\ado\plus\e\estout.hlp
    c:\ado\plus\e\eststo.hlp
    c:\ado\plus\e\estpost.ado
    c:\ado\plus\e\estpost.hlp
    c:\ado\plus\e\esttab.ado
    c:\ado\plus\e\esttab.hlp
    no files installed or copied
    (no action taken)
    r(602);u
    could you help me sorting it out

    • @sebastianwaiecon
      @sebastianwaiecon  7 лет назад +1

      This probably means you already have a version of estout installed. If you want to re-install, use the option "replace." The full command would be: ssc install estout, replace
