Thank you for this, because I was really looking at buying these types of mics. I'm looking for a better quality, but for $20-$25 bucks super useful for just communication.
Thanks again man!!
Many mic sets around $15. Mine was fine even after 100 ft. Plugged into osmo pocket 3. You get the bonus of recording both the original sound from the microphones on the osmo plus a separate audio file of the wireless. It's amazing to have the choice of either or mixing both in the editing stage.
Fresh review mate - TY. :)
For the price, and ease of use, it’s not bad. I use them when I stream my painting, and it works just fine.
I bought the Lavalier wireless mics you've demonstrated in your video. Unfortunately the distortion on the playback was so severe I gave up on them. Maybe some idea on how to set up on Sony digital camera would help out. e.g. does the audio on the camera need to be turned down or off first to avoid severe audio distortions?
What about gaming to replace a boom mic? Is there a lot of latency? I could get a mic that on my desk but that is a lot more cables and i have enough cables on my desk as it is.
I just received this exact setup from Amazon today. Plugged them in to my iPhone and they are working great. I saw a few comments saying they sounded terrible and I just don't agree. They will be great for some of the things I plan to use them for, where I might be 20-30 feet from the iPhone. In that case, the iPhone camera will not pick-up your voice very well but I tested today with these little mics and the sound was very good. If you want better quality, then shell out some cash for expensive ones and don't complain about a $ 25.00 product that comes with 2 microphones.
Bro can you try this on laptop if it is working?
Is these the exact ones u bought?
@@jacklarry5231yes, the same exact ones.
Very helpful. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Useful vid, thanks! Which podcasting mic are you using?
🎙 Blue Spark Microphone - amzn.to/3qgtYkq
ty ty for doing this!
Sounded really good I have the Bluetooth though in my studio I use a akg microphone and the whole 9. In comparison of course the 48 phantom and extra nuisances you get helps but on the fly with Bluetooth sounds pretty good if you know how to work leveling and audio engineering
What do you use? I need one that cancels outside sound..i breathe heavy..and have a nose issue. Want to have clarity but soften sound. No clue about mics. Anything under 25? Just want to use muc for radio blog.
I need one for my lecture class.. I'm sold
Same! Im getting these and asking my professor to put it on haha
My father in law just bought these but the microphone seems to pick up the surrounding area more than his voice is there a feature to increase the mic level?
The key difference being that XLR powered mics typically give a far nicer sound - warmer, deeper and more "radio presenter" but that said ... if you're caught in a pinch and need something super-portable, easy to charge and discrete, then that's where the USB wireless works nicely. And at 20 bucks ... it's almost worth just having a set just in case. I already have the original Rode Wireless Mic's so just use those - the benefit of that option being that they provide TRRS power so sound is closer to the XLR than the wireless USB.
Good review, man - keep up the good work :)
much apprecaited!
A good step up from phone mic for shorts and stuff. Im looking @some now as a new content creator. Thank you
Did you ever find anything with good audio that's affordable?
The iPhone mic sounds much better though, if you're not moving around for a video.
If you were moving though, I think it's a decent affordable option.
Can I use these with a Bluetooth speaker to amplify my voice???
I keep getting popping /cracking in the mic when my voice level goes up or pitch is higher. I don’t think I have the mic too close. Any suggestions?
Thanks I needed this video
Glad I could help
@@JamesMontemagno yeah I plan on streaming and doing vlogs
can it be used for phone calls? my idea is i want my jlab ear buds to audio and my lav mic BOTH connected to phone at 1 time and used on phone calls. is this a possibility? i got an galaxy s21 phone. as of right now i dont ever think i got this combo to work properly how i want it to work. i havn't tried these lav mics though and it might be my phone i might need to buy another phone more capable. lav mics in past seemed to work on recording but not on phone calls. i just want them hooked up to my shirt and ear bud in and i can answer calls hands free.
Can you have more than two on the go at once say if you had three or four guests?
Hey man, is it possible to connect a headphone? to talk, sing and listen at the same time, while recording? I want to use it to remix reels on Instagram... have you tested this? recommend?
Does anyone know how to do the real time monitoring feature? I got the USB-C Earphones but can’t make it work. Help!
Wow, didn't expect them to sound so thin.
Do the two mics record as a singular audio track?
yes its not stereo
Just bought some and i'm charging at I type. Will see how good they are once ive recorded my 1st reaction video in a little while. I have some confidence they'll be alright though....
Yes, I would like to see the newer 660 with the barn doors how well they do lighting for videos and pictures. Thank you.
One of my mic is Able to charge but unable to turn on, anybody know why????
Hi, sorry I am new to this, but can these mics work on a pc?
If I usually wear T Shirts (Singapore is kinda hot), versus like shirts or sweaters, where that "side clip" would work for the wireless mics, I noticed on the Amazon page you linked, there is a listing in the top row where the clip of the mic seems more "vertical", so like it would clip to the head opening of my T-shirt I imagine, and remain vertical (perpendicular to the floor). And then the mic would be directly pointing straight up at my chin (like a Singer's mic would be on stage). That would make ore sense to get than the ones with the side clips. Right?
Or do they come with multiple clips? Thank you!
I am getting these but not putting the clip on, filing down the nub to be flat, gluing on a neodymium magnet, then placing a magnet or metal on a necklace under my shirt to attach to. Then it will stay wherever/however I want.
Interesting idea. I'm not that handy with tools and so on, that's just not our culture here in Singapore since everything is ready made. @@KevinVenturePhilippines I eventually bought ones that were similar, and will be reviewing them here on my main channel. (The channel I'm making this comment with). The clips managed to rotate all the way around, so it was great.
I did that exact thing @@KevinVenturePhilippines
If you were to do a live stream on your phone with the wireless microphone, would you be able to keep your phone plugged in and charging while the dongle is plugged in?
There is another port to be able to charge at the same time
I have a pair of the $20 ones and love them. I use them for my small business when I do fb live and I sound so clear
Does it work well for phone calls?
@@jenniferahgren2184 How would you hear the other person? Interesting question, but I don't think they would work.
Hi, I have a question. Did you do something before using them with life fb? Or just plug the stuff on the device? It isn't working with live transmisión, but wasap calls yes. I'll apareciste your answer.
the maybest ones? if so do you recommend them?
Can you link up more than on pair of microphones to the same recording peice? ie 4 individual microphones to the same recording?
I haven't tried it so I am not 100% sure to be honest with you.
Solid video brother thank you. My outdoor vlogs are never going to be the same again (and I make a lot of outdoor casual vlogs, coz I tend to be a casual sort of recording artist/producer guy)!
Thanks!
How did the mics work for you outdoors in the wind?
@@Kadence.312 Hey, replying with my main account! Well, they basically wiped out the wind. Because there's an in-built noise gate (if you're familiar with what that is), so basically, it only lets the loudest audio through, which is your voice. But it's not very natural sounding, so best to do it in non-windy places.
I had severe feedback issues when I listened back to my audio. I wasn't aware it was doing it at the time.
If I were to buy 2 sets of 2 of the Lavalier microphones, will all 4 microphones work on one adapter? I can't plug 2 adapters into 1 iPhone. Thank You in advance.
I don't think so, although I haven't tried it... I think they are paired to the device in it... but i would need to buy another pair
@@JamesMontemagno Thank You!!!!!
If I have a Bluetooth speaker connected to my phone, could this Bluetooth lav mic pass audio through to the speaker, almost like a mini PA system, using the phone as an intermediary?
If you had an app that would basically playback your audio right away then should. Something like microphone live
@@JamesMontemagno Thanks!
Any idea if you can connect the mic to another lavalier adapter?
I think if it is the same brand/company... but not really sure to be honest with you. Probably best to ask on Amazon.
can we connect to the phone without the reciever and direct to phone bluetooth ?
Need the receiver as they aren’t actually Bluetooth they are their own protocol
How do you connect this through Bluetooth in your phone? Thanks
They talk over Bluetooth via the adapter that you plug in. so not like wireless headphones. There are some out there that talk directly over Bluetooth that you pair, but these are just plug and play.
So it's click bait, its not bluetooth if comes with an adapter.
Bluetooth is a wireless tecnology but not all wireless tecnology is bluetooth...
They should pay you for this. I'm sold!
Does this work on Twitch?
i literally just got these, can you add more than two tho?
I haven’t tried to buy multiple pairs to see if they all connect up, but would be interesting to try
How do you get it to record on both audio channels? On my iPhone it only records on one audio channel
When using for two people it generates single output or we get a single output of both!
@James Montemagno
is a single stream from what i have found in different apps. I don't think the iphone really has apis or knows about multiple streams. .but that is just what i have seen
Hey just bought these and im wondering while these are plugged in to the phone does the phone mic still work too or do they cut out that mic
I am pretty sure it will use them as the default mic. Unless some app allows you to switch, but I haven’t seen that
The irig sucks or you have it to far. Your blu sounds good.
dear what's about the sound bar . can we use it with sound bar of Yamaha ?
nope, it is for phones
For me it's unusable as the noise reduction that you can't turn off basically destroys the signal. They sound a bit like a headset bluetooth microphone. Your signal in this video sounds better than mine - maybe because you have less noise baseline in your settings than I have.
Isn't suitable for V.O?
Do these record? If yes, is the recorded data held locally on the device or phone as an audio (mp4) file.
i’m assuming they record audio through the iphone, i’m just tryna figure out if it can record in conjunction with video recording or if I need a separate phone to record audio
@@LexikMusiche’s using it to record the audio on the video
Do the mics have a mute button?
Yes. Maybesta does. Just press the power button once to mute and again to unmute
i think it clips at 8k, using the bluetooth handsfree standard. Not great. I really want full 16k
I just bought a $50 (CDN) BT microphone-the unpronounceable"Sjpzwcrl" Wireless Lavalier Microphone. It was just AWFUL. The compression/clipping-not adjustable, as far as I know-was unlistenable. My iPad mini 6 microphone kicks *ass* on it . . . now, my question is, where can I find a wireless microphone that DOESN'T do that, and also maintains the low end and high end that the iPad seems to be able to handle?
I was thinking of using such a mic for recording my 12-string but with that amount of clipping, I know it's going to be *awful*
Im trying to get them to work for Instagram reels and im having no luck, any ideas?
Should just plug them in, connect, and instagram should use them as your mic
@@JamesMontemagno i tried and it didnt work, I tried on two different phones and it didnt work
@@thesitewhen you turn the mic on make sure to not press the power buttons three times that’ll disconnect the audio. I’m not sure why the problem is I’m just put it g out there a possibility
You also have to turn on the receiver that you plug into the phone, not just the mics. Make sure they are all charged up. Read the directions carefully. Good luck!
You said "it has a 65 foot recording range because that's the bluetooth range, but you wouldn't be able to hear it because the mic couldn't pick up that far"... that doesn't make any sense? Either it's the range of the mic itself, or the range of the transmitter?
The mic away from your phone, not away from a person. I maybe just mispoke, I’ll relisten
can i connect them to the phone via bluetooth without that receiver?
They aren’t actually Bluetooth and use their own wireless protocol so that is how they connect
It's this only for apple products?
They have some that are USB C, Lightning, and Both! Checkout links in description
I tried to use it for face time but the mic don’t pick up the voice
It’s unfortunate but FaceTime doesn’t work with external mics: discussions.apple.com/thread/250024596
I had these mic's for a few days and couldn't use alh of the footage, as the mic's are clipping quite easily. Just the engine of my car was enough. The connection between the mic and the reciever is very stabil, and the soundquality is fair. I ended up sending the mic's back.
The 65' range is probably referencing the BT range, and not the Mic range. It was just poorly documented. Who tries to speak into a microphone more than 5' away anyway?
5:47 You have TWO microphines and THREE clips (because they know you'll lost them). It's worth if only for their preparedness alone. 😂
I used the mic and when in distance when talking to other people you can bearly hear them but my phone mic is legit better
Does anybody know a Mic for iPhone that can hear the people around me clear cause you can’t hear them at all in my videos with this mic I need one that will pick up noise around me
Yeah lapel mics are for being clipped on to a person to pick up their audio they are not at all for a group of people. You would want some sort of boom mic maybe even xlr with a converter
I thought bluetooth mics connect without adapter to your bluetooth on the phone
I had three different models of these kind already. They all are MUCH too sensitive and distort very fast. Unusable unless your speaking volume is very low. Otherwise you need to put them too far away from your mouth (I saw people wear them on their belly) but then they start sounding very "thin".
I have this exact model, and it keeps turning off on its own when I'm filming.
I've had it only 2 weeks and used it only a few times. Battery is fully charged.
Did you fix the problem?
@knightrider6473 no I sent it back
Here's what confuses the heck out of me: If these are bluetooth devices, why do they need their own special dongle? Why can't they just be used with your phone or pc's existing bluetooth hardware?
I'm looking for a small, simple bluetooth lapell to use when recording my lectures. I'm one of those teachers who move around a lot. But I also change classrooms a lot so I'd like to not have a dongle stuck to my computer all the time if I can help it.
Iris 2 is great
The iPhone mic sounds way better than the maybesta
The biggest difference is when you record at a distance and not close to your iPhone. That is where you will see the biggest difference
It's odd that they use USB-C charging with a product for iphones. I get that it's because they want to use the same transmitters/mics with the USB-C version, but still, odd.
Personally I prefer the more expensive ($70-100) kits that allow you to plug in a mic instead of using the built-in one. Better sound and no bulky transmitter hanging on your shirt.
Speaking of that shirt, I still have a bunch of those from the Xamarin days...
Not so odd anymore 🤣🤣🤣
Sounded horrible. Is there anything in 40-60 range that would provide reasonable quality? Or is this just Bluetooth protocol limitation?
Agreed! I was planning on upgrading my mike for my videos but it was a downgrade, and for more money
They do sound horrible.
They aren’t Bluetooth, or a receiver wouldn’t be needed. It’s digital 2.4 GHz ISM band.
If you are going to be picky buy some Rode Lav's for $300, or som DJI for $250, then you won't complain, problem solved. This was a cheap mic review.
For the prize it's good, better than expected.
Got mine for $6 from TikTok
Every mic you're using except iPhone built in is clipping. That's a you problem.
Yeah I hate to say it, but, the quality of this lav is absolutely trash and I'm thankful you made this video to help me avoid this product
The audio interface😭
i got them for like 6 bucks
realme whatch 2 pro
do not buy!! its a waste of money!!
the microphone sensitivity sucks.. as you can see in this video, the volume of his voice becomes lower when the mic is pointing away from his mouth. You literally have to hold it infront of your mouth, ~5-8 cm away.
Using the standard iPhone built in mic sounds better , am I crazy?
It sounds pretty good to identical when you are right in front of your iPhone, but the point is you are away from your iPhone.
Ehh. Don’t mind spending $20 but not on those. Thanks
These mics suck so much static
Horrible! But thanks for the review
sounds worse.
Plugged mine, green light on but absolutely no sound.
Got mine on temu for $4 and its the same quality. Same factory.
It’s not Bluetooth
Accurate, can’t go back and edit the video but I have a correction not in the description
