It has been a year since my last comment on here and I am still blown away by this performance. It is just sheer perfection on so many levels. I will always have this on my playlist.
3 years have now passed and I still get chills playing this video. I think it will be one of my favourite videos of all time, perfection can't be beaten.
I seriously cannot even begin to describe the sheer level of perfection in this. Combining one of my favourite pieces of poetry, with one of my favourite songs. It's reduced me to tears each time I've watched it.
Nanny Ogg, I knew both but had no idea how beautiful combining the two would be, the line in the poem "The vision splendid" is something every Australian country boy holds in his heart (even when he's in the big smoke, or especially so). It brought a tear to my eye, I'll be sharing this with the backpacker kids at work, it's a hobby I got, showing them bits of Australia the otherwise would never hear of. Also, Nanny Off, PRATCHETT ROCKS!!!
I have a list of RUclips songs on a 'go to' list and I have to say that this is the first one I switch on every time. Sheer perfection that is timeless and so emotionally stirring. I will never get tired of playing this clip.
I don't know of any performer with talent for such a huge range of musical styles as Ali but who is so self-deprecating and takes themselves with so little seriousness. She is nothing short of brilliant and to my mid so under-appreciated.
Clancys gone a droving and we don’t know where he are. Only Paterson can mangle the words of a sentence and still make perfect sense. Sometimes in the 1960s while living in Australia I brought a book called the Man From Snowy River a collection of Banjo Patterson poems 6 countries 50 plus years later I still have the book and read the poems. It’s missing much of the cover many pages are held together by scotch tape. But I still read it. Tried to buy a new copy but nothing seems to be in print in North America. Maybe I can try something like Amazon Australia. Just thought of that. My favourite monolog is Banjo Patterson talking about Henry Lawson visiting the country and not liking it. Back in the Sixties there was a pub on lower George St Sydney now long gone. Where the locals used to swear that both Henry Lawson and Banjo Patterson were regulars. I think it was called the Newcastle.
Nice singing, not that jazz does that much for the classic Church song. Hills' loves scripting all his work. This is a slight improvement on anything comedic he attempts.
This is one of the greatest things I have ever heard. My favourite poem. Just incredible. Beautiful singing and playing. Shimmering and perfect. ❤❤❤❤
Fantastic, watched them do this in Sydney, New Years eve. Absolutely memorable end to a wonderful trip to Australia

I knew neither the poem nor the song before this, but dear god, it is a beautiful combination. Gives me goosebumps!

Wallis and Matilda nailed it a long time before this. Timeless classic and should be our national anthem.

This is truly beautiful - what raw 'talent'- a privilege to view - aah, and the power of love.

That's crap. I prefer Wallis and Matilda's song. And an actual song it is too.
