My dryer just broke and I am planning to buy a new one but I have in mind to give it a try to find solutions to fix it because the dryer is still operating and producing heat. I don't have the tools to open it so I'll wait for my husband to do it. This video is very straightforward and helpful , not complicated explanation 👏💪thank you very much for sharing this helpful tips🙏
Thank you for the well explained video. My dryer motor had the same problem where it seized up and was very hard to turn. There are two rubber bushings that the new motor didn't come with so I reused them with no problems. Thank you for your help!👏
Thank you my friend for making this tutorial. You saved me a bunch for a repair man. I've got a similar model and had the same problem with the motor. The drum would not spin and I thought there was some mechanical problem with it. I took off the back plate first and it did not help much so I went on youtube where I hit your video concerning this issue and it helped me to fix the dryer. Take care. V
Hello. Was there a locking washer in front of the black tension wheel before you move it out?. My friend has one exactly like yours and i am helping to fix it. We thought at first that the belt was done but it was instead the tension wheel. The wheels hub has melted and the metal cylinder could out and the wheel has jumped out and found it under the motor 😮. There is a groove on the outer end of the pin on which the wheel should glide on, seems as if there should have been a locking washer. Could you confirm that? I didn't find one around.
Hi fella great video. My belt has broken and when opening up the machine. The back wheel was off and I can not work out how to recfigure it. I could not quite see on your video. Do you have any photos of fully set up?
Thanks for the video. I have pulled apart the motor and replied the magnets and its working ok but has a slight whine. It has a spring washer in the motor assembly which fell out when i dismantled it and unsure if it goes towards the back bearing or front bearing in the motor assembly. Can you advise?
Thank you for a great video I have the same problem I replace the Motor But it's not working I heard something like "tiki" But it's not getting action Maybe I need to replace the parts that look like silver battery ?
TIP: keep the broken motor and all loose parts on it until you get the replacement one. On my new motor none of the wheels or washers were present. Anyways, thanks a lot for this video! With it, I was abel to change the motor on my Electrolux dryer. It was pretty similar to your model.
Great video, pretty much the only one on the web which covers this type of machine - might be worth editing the title to put John Lewis heat pump dryer in there as well. Where is the moisture sensor on this model?
Hello. My Electrolux dryer heats but does not cool. The problem is that the laundry is hot and the water tank is empty. The compressor gets very hot. I would be grateful for any advice
Thank you so much. You are an amazing help. However I found a spring on the bottom. Where does it go? I figure it will tighten the belt but HOW? thank you so much. really excellent utube
Hello, thanks a great tutorial. you gave me the confidence to change the drum belt. Working a beauty on my work bench at testing. But now it’s back in the laundry and the belt works perfectly but I have NO heat and also NO error code. Did I break something? Can you suggest how to diagnose the cause of the heating failure please?
I am sooo dumb! I ran the machine for 10 minutes and now it’s working … lots of spinning with heat. Please regard me ´knee-jerk´ question. Thanks again for an informative video 😊
Thanks for posting this Good video. I have the same model. Belt is split. Held by a few threads. Need to get the new belt. How do you route the belt round the tensioner and motor shaft. It's hard to see in the video. Is it over the top of the pulley and onto the motor shaft?
Hi I got the new belt and figured it out. The pulley wheel was loose. No circlip needed. It was a few weeks ago now but I think it was around the drum over the pulley and onto the motor shaft. Make sure you screw back down the motor before turning the drum by hand to test rotate it. I loosened the motor made it easier to get the new belt on. Dryer is running grand since!
Heya. I have the exact same Electrolux model as your video here, and I too suspect that my motor has completely shot itself as I cannot spin the drum. But in reference to another video of yours, my dryer also displays the "EH0" low voltage error but my solder looks good. Is it possible for the control unit to sense an issue with the motor and thus leave the relay that controls the motor in an 'open' state, thus creating the EH0 error in this manner?
hi if you drum is tight disconnect the belt. spin the motor independentl, if it doesn't spin motor is shot. who might be a response to the dryer detecting the motor not spinning
Hi . Great video. I have the exact same model and in my case is the drive belt that is broken. Question: can I insert the drive belt by the front side do i dont have to touch the motor ? Do you have any video on how to remove the front painel ? Many thanks in advance !
@@askmrwashywashy BIG BIG THANK YOU ! Just replaced it and its back working ! Thanks a lot for a quick answer and for a Great Video ! If you were in town, a big beer, or two, or three would be on me ! Cheers!!!
I know this is probably pretty late, but might come in handy for other people stumbling upon this. Just switched a belt on a similar dryer, the only difference is you have to take both side panels off, and the back panel slightly, tilt open the back slightly, slip the belt from behind the drum, bring it in front of the motor, Zig-zag it across the belt tensioner until its pretty tight on there, then reverse screw everything back in. Its helpful if you mark with a sharpie which screws are which on the dryer itself (philips or torx) so you know which goes back where
Hello I have same dryer but mine just stops working after few minutes with no error code. The display still thinking cycle is running and counting down but nothing running. the motor and heater on mine work fine so i think board issue. do you know how to get into service mode with this dryer?
I have same model as yours. The problem is that it does not immediately spin after pressing the start button. After 5 minutes, it will beep to end the process, I think it is to protect the heater. And I need to start over several times, more than 10 times then it will start spinning. It may be capacitor problem, as you said on the video at 2:28. Could you show me which capacitor is gone? Thank you so much?

Good Day Mr Washy. Thank you so much for your video. It is most helpful. You gave me confidence in opening up my dryer. I have the exact same dryer. My Dryer is currently making a noise (screech) when you start it and when you move the drum there is a lot of resistance. I have made a video recording of this here: ruclips.net/user/shorts8BvyR8dXov0 Appreciate if you can help me with possible solutions.
Welcome glad it helped you start the repair. Ok what you need to do is detach the belt by undoing the spring. I’m thinking the black pulley might be worn. Or worst case might be the motor magnets starting to disintegrate. Spin the pulley by hand first and do the same with the motor to see isolate where the problem is coming from
@@askmrwashywashy Just did the above. The pulley spins ok and so does the motor. No resistance there. I am starting to think the drum is showing resistance in some way.....either bearing or from the rollers. Is opening the drum assembly something you would do?

Glad it helped. Thanks you
You give such a good description and explain. It's direct in to my brain, the way you present. Brilliant, thanks man.

Very helpful video. Does the belt pulley have something to fix it in place?

Thank you very much, bro, this video provides great details about DIY.
Perfect video but do you have one where you fit the drum belt?
What could be the problem if it does not give heated air?
Is there a heater unit in the box underneath the drum?

I hooks onto the motor and onto the body of the dryer. You will see the grooves

Hey I’ve got the same heat pump model but it only hears up slightly. Any ideas?
Broken belt ?
Remove the top lid like its shown in video and check the belt. If is lose then its broken. That’s the problem.
Need a new belt
