How privileged are we to have lived in the same period of time that The Beatles decided that a band would be a good idea and just maybe we could write a few songs people might like...😊

The song Yesterday was a revelation. The “universe” was surprised by the amazing new sound and presentation. “Can ya do that?” The answer was, “apparently so.” You had to be alive then to fully appreciate the shock waves and ripples. Paul was not yet 23 years old. Rock music was changed and expanded forever. Subsequent generations shrug, don’t really “get it” and simply learn to love the song on its merit. Thank you Mike for your presentation.

Paul Mac's magic moment - a sensational piece of music and lyrics. A great history lesson on this song. I believe this song has the most people doing a cover of this song. Good lesson - the down-tuned guitar makes the difference.

What word is there that is stronger than genius? Whatever it is Macca deserves it. Written by a 22yo, the same guy who just a few years earlier had travelled across Liverpool by bus with his mate John becasue they had heard of someone who know how to play B7 and they wanted to know the secret. They listened.
This magnificent melody, born fully formed according to the folklaw, (and performed by the bands bass player on solo accoustic guitar) is a feast of chords, subtleties of guitar nuance and, well, just something stronger than genius. And thats just the musical side..... the lyrics are something else.
I never knew John threw in the 'Yesterday' word to fit the 'scrambled eggs' metre.
    'The Beatles' never gets old.

Vocals a little down was a good idea here.
I would actually love to see two playthroughs at the end; one as you do it now, and then one with either no vocals, or the vocals waaaaaaay down in the mix so they're barely audible. Just to hear the guitars more clearly, all the way through at tempo.
There's so much to be learned about all the little nuances that get lost in the full mix.
Thanks for doing all of these... I've stumbled around how to play these songs properly for as long as I've been playing, and you've taught me so much!
