Thanks a lot for watching and safe journeys!
Nice to see another side f the Maldives, always thought it was only expensive all-inclusive resorts. Looking forward to the other Indian Ocean islands... Seychelles, Madagascar, and Mauritius 😁
All of them are collectively stupid plces to visit untill you wanna die in peace
Love the parrots 🦜 but didn’t like seeing the chains on them.
Gabriel saw that and thought that too I'm sure
I really love these Maldives videos! Thank you for showing us how the islands really are, because me like many others, I had the image of the expensive resorts. It is beautiful and very exotic! Thank you Gabriel !!! 👍
Great trip, Gabe...thanks for all you do.
There is not a second of what you do that doesn't impress me. Dude , Trippy thanks for taking me with you xx
I am 3 seconds into this. No doubt the constant travel and relentless pressure to deliver stellar uploads takes its toll, but good lord, I’m so jealous right now! Bravo, good sir.
I think at this point it’s so routine for him.. he’s definitely an iron horse though. It’s also easier when you’re doing something you love & his uploads are what dictate his ability to afford traveling.
@@AdventureElliot I couldn’t agree more. It’s easier if you love it. Gabe is definitely the special forces of globe trotters.
@@Mike-rw2nh he may want to start leading or already wants to lead a different kind of life and perhaps spend more time with his family, friends or others close to him but if he makes content of his home state then he has noticed that his views go down quite a bit and that his audience expects international content. So for some people the income reason may be something that keeps them from living the way they would like to, actually this is true for so many people. Some content makers get a lot of views from making videos of their lives from the same place, consider Jonna Jinton for example. If Gabriel would do that then his views and perhaps income over time would go down
@@dreamthedream8929 I have a hunch Gabriel is saving a decent amount for retirement. He just turned 50. !0 more years of travel videos and he'd be nice and set to relax the rest of his life.
I rate you Gabe. I don`t think I could do non-stop traveling because I need a home base to regroup in, but I rate your adventures. Much gratitude, the best of travels and safety for you, mate.
It’s so interesting to see the Maldives away from the resorts.
Gabe thank you for all you do for showing us all these amazing places....Maldives looks ok
Great to see the ‘other side’ of the Maldives away from the really flash beach resorts. Hope the weather holds up for your adventures. Will you maybe travel to Mauritius on your way back west? Think you would enjoy the Black River Gorge, tea plantation, sugar cane farms and scaling Le Mourne rock!
Never been to Le Mourne rock when I went to Mauritius, but did see the rest
Thank you so much for the updates I always enjoy your videos from Uganda 🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬
Wow Gabe! Amazing video! So beautiful there 🌊👏
Wow Gabriel that was pretty wild weather 😀 thank you Gabriel! 😊❤😎☀️
Oh Gabriel I did enjoy your hurricane moment 😂 but I do empathise with you regarding the weather. Best foot forward and all that. You are showing both sides of paradise 👑🌟⛵🙂
Jesus. Chained parrots used to lure in customers... That’s some bad karma right there.
Nice!
What a coincidence! I was at Mayafushi and It was also very beautiful. Thank you for the great Videos. Greetings
Fun & funny - I'd like to see your rainy day routine!
Hope you can try some authentic Maldivian cuisine sometime soon. I'd be intrigued to see what it consists of.
Primarily tuna and coconuts thats the main ingredient in most maldivian cuisine
I used to live in the Maldives and operate a holiday planning agency there. Focused only on local islands. If you are looking for a nice local island to go to you should check out Dhiffushi or Thoddoo. Both way nicer than Maafushi, which is the most commercial island in the Maldives
Feel free to reach out to me on IG: @amistadtravelsmaldives
Sweet, I was actually planning to go to Dhiffushi next.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos
Dhiffushi is really nice! Some lovely beaches and a pretty nice house reef for snorkeling. Would definitely recommend it!
Check out Moonlight cafe in Maafushi, great food and ambience
I posted a restaurant guide for Maafushi but it seems youtube deleted the comment 🙄
Good to know, I'll be looking for dinner soon. I didn't see the other comment.
Just back from one of the island resorts really fantastic place and yes the people are fantastic
Been waiting for this
I guess wind makes it hard to walk. If it is sporadic rain would not be too bad. Beautiful location. Awesome and picturesque.
Visited this island in 2015. It is so small, you can walk from one end to other in 10-15 mins. You’re right no alcohol on the island but they take you to a ship anchored nearby kind of small, you can eat, drink. There is nothing much to do on the island but you can go snorkelling, fishing, diving. It was exactly the same you described 7 yrs back. Guess nothing has changed much!
It is a stunning and unique destination, which also offers incredible services. Surely, the cost does not reflect the quality, but with the above tips, you can make it a value for money trip. Last but not least advice: you do not have to stay for many days.
Having been to Maldives 5 times especially in Feb and March, I think I only had one storm during the day which lasted a couple of hours and 2 storms at night - other than that, amazing sunny days and cloudless skies
Thought the weather had improved when I saw the thumbnail 😂 great stuff!
Luckily the weather was much better today.
0:48 that breakfast didn´t look that great tbh ahahahah!! On the other hand, the island looks AMAZING!
Am always watching your videos
usually nov to march months are preferable for a visit to the islands in the indian ocean area. monsoon rains can be pretty severe at times.
Definitely gonna make a trip there
The Maldives is beautiful
One of the facts of the Maldives is that it has the best passport in South Asia in terms of value
The rainy season dude:) After two weeks of sunshine and surf at Pasta Point, they told me the rainy season was coming. They were right!
aye, monsoon time in indian ocean area as the pattern proceeds upwards towards india.
I believe the maldives are just like Dubai & other luxury places. If you can't afford the luxury experience, it's not worth the trip/you got much nicer places to visit on a budget.
Watching this from Moofushi resort! This is great. It is beautiful here though.
Gabriel, as always thanks for sharing your travels. It's lovely to see familiar places from your perspective. I know you're not a foodie, but it might be worth sharing what & where the locals eat. Definitely not $20 lunches! 😀 Actually, some coconut-laced local spicy fish curry would be pretty awesome on rainy days instead of faux pan-asian.
Hi Gabriel, These Islands are very beautiful there is another set of Islands in the Indian Ocean by the edge of the Somali Ocean consisting of 155 Islands.
Cool weather. ☺️ Not much to do there, but chill. 👍😊
yes... he said not much do here but swim in the ocean and swim in pools ....aaaaahhhh that describes my dream vacation. eat swim rest repeat 🤣😂☺️🥰
@@designdoctor247 cool.👍😊
They are many places that you've visited in your videos that I've circled and plan to visit, but the Maldives is not one of them. I can only imagine how horrible it would be during peak tourist season!
Kite surfing, thanks Gabe!
That sausage looked like has been made in 1952.
😆😆😆😆
Beautiful island 🤗👍
hey, im from maldives, love these videos. also, if u wanna try the maldivian breakfast you should try roshi with either mashuni or kulhimas.
Thanks, good to know.
Awesome video 👍👍👍 ciao from italy 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
The wild rain forcing you to relax in your Room ☺️🤣🖐
Hey Gabriel, I think you should try the breakfast that comes with the room, maybe they will let you have two eggs. LOL
Two breakfasts?! 😂😂😂 What was that, a Pippin and Merry breakfast?
Reminds me of a Jay Leno Headline section - A menu advertised its breakfast as suitable for -
Americans: 2-4 people
Others: 4-6 people
Keep truckin' Gabriel
Wowwww thanks sir Gabe for Another Epic adventure in one of my dream travel Destinations 😍 most Exclusive Beach resorts in the World Maldives, thanks for your wonderful Excellent walk around tour video Godbless from your solid fan viewer from the Philippines 🇵🇭 sir Vhin 😍👏👏👍🙂🙏🙏❤️❤️🙏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
The hotels and restaurants won't give local maldivian food. I suggest you asking a local about what type of food we eat.
I think it is so empty because it is low season due to the weather. We went at the end of March and it was great weather.
Nice video.
I watched William Taudien in the Maldives!
He just left it to India, it’s really amazing his filming and reporting! Must check it out if you like to know more about the Maldives!
Really really good!!
Yes, I mentioned him in this video: ruclips.net/video/BGGX5y77490/видео.html
Nice video 👏
Real exciting place Mr G 🤭
Wow, that's some kind of hair raising weather at points out there Gabriel! Hope the boat trip was a smooth sail in the end.. interesting seeing the infrastructure of the island, strange paradox, a prison on s small tropical island! The ultimate tease..
I was thinking, maybe you'd enjoy Indonesia, I know slot of people recommend countries to you, just thought I would bring it up as I've done a bit of travelling myself and found the islands of Indonesia to be so beautiful and exotic. There are so many to visit, as you'll know, would be awesome to see you make it there one day. I hope the rest of your Maldive trip goes well for you, looking forward to the next instalment!
I've been to Bali, the Gilis and Lombok, but need to go back to see more of Indonesia: ruclips.net/video/HO-Q9-m6d3I/видео.html
@@GabrielTravelerVideos oh gosh, hadnt realised that, are there any vids? Yes be great to see you go back and do some of the more remote islands even. :)
Oh yes silly me, just seen the link! Thank you..
No problem. One of my old videos so terrible quality, another reason to go back, to make some better videos there.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Another vote for Indonesia! SE Asia in general. But whatever you want to do is best, Gabe.
the state of the breakfast....what a kip...
another fantastic upload but no MALDIVES for me too many restictions
think why there is restriction. human beings are not created whatever they like to live
For a great food experience, check your hotel's buffets. Only $15!
Gab it would be interseting if you can show us,how they get water on tap and where does dump go
You should meet up with William Taudien, he’s also in The Maldives at the moment.
For the low season I find that the prices are quite high🤔
Hi, you can travel island to island by speed boat or by flight depending on the island you are in at the moment. No need to travel back to male’ each time.
I guess it depends on which islands you're trying to travel between.
Wet, wet, wet Maldives ... who would have thought? ☺️
The ol' 1 egg, 1 wiener, 3 toast is the saddest breakfast I have ever seen in my life! All of Asia has amazing breakfasts, what's going on??
I'm glad I didn't have to say this first. Love the videos, but that breakfast looked disgusting.
5 star hotels have amazing breakfasts. 4 stars sometimes have decent buffet (usually its avg quality)
Noticed.
Funny how meals so small you gotta get 2 of them!
One hot dog. One egg. 3 slices of cheap bread = 7.50? That's hilarious.
That was actually the price for two of the breakfasts, you could see the second plate in one of the clips. But yeah, pretty silly when you have to order two breakfasts.
Great
Thank you for this video! We were considering a trip to the Maldives…..your video convinced us that there are hundreds of NICER places to spend our vacation dollar, right here in the US! 😆😆😆
The Maldives is great. We had a blast there a few years ago, but Gabriel is going to the poor and dirty side of the islands in the worst weather conditions. This is not really representative.
10:17 nice room 🙂
It's a good place for a diet, small portions.
These super resort islands kinda freak me out. There’s just something too artificial about them. Like they’re part of The Truman Show’s back drop or something.
It’s like the whole island is some Caribbean Theme Park. Very eerie vibe.
Yeah the breakfast, even as a Maldivian; is not the best, but I suggest you try a more traditional one! (Ask the restaurant staff for suggestions, mine would be kulhimas w/ plain tortillas with a side of mashuni and some Vegs) It'll fill you up but be ware it could be spicy.
Edit: and for those wondering why the water looks muddy it's because of the weather and rain, otherwise it would be crystal clear. The weather isn't the best at all, the next whole week is said to be very bad. I've postponed my fishing trip atleast 4 times now 🤣
And for any potential future traveller, do bring a good set of Jeans shorts or just tropical shorts with a thick sandal / crocks because you don't want sand all over your clothes and thick rocks and corals to damage your shoe*
Great too see another coverage, only the weather is not supportive enough, otherwise it could have been a pretty attractive looking scenario.
Luckily, the scenario was much more attractive the next day.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos alright.
Gabe, did you not notice that those poor, beautiful macaws were tethered to those perches by chains and were not free to fly? How would that beach bar owner like it if someone tied him to a post and stopped his freedom of movement? All you remarked about those birds was, ' Nothing to say.' Would you talk under their conditions? Do they get water and food regularly?
It's amazing how much we can be lucky to visually can touch a glimpse of heaven.
Sadly the majority are blind to see, and appreciate the grace smashing pumpkins of it...
Thank you Gabriel. You're the best.
There is a restaurant at the bottom of your hotel I think its called Aveli, that was the best food on the island, get the red chicken curry with rice mix it together very good, they had a few other good things I just do not remember, it's been a few years, I think I would also get the red chicken curry, and dip my fries in the red Curry that was very good also, a few places had decent fried rice, in general, the food was OK at best, go to Guraidhoo island, its a smaller island, but it's prettier, stay there one day max because once you explore that island there's not much to do. You could take a boat usually it's a small boat that will bring you there. You could see the liquor boat from the beach if you look far enough, it's a yacht, we did not go it was big windy waves, I don't think the drink would've gone down very well on a wavy day.
If you're bored you could go swim with the whale sharks, but I'm not sure this is the season. It's known to be one of the best locations to do that.
GABRIEL: Amazing how "stupid" we can be if spending $3-4K US a night ! on the fru-fru "over-the-water" villas or just $30.00 to 50.00 US for the same ocean and perhaps even MORE tranquility, if we stay in-land off the beach. Not being cooped up at one of those "posh" resorts with all the other "ripped-off" people trying desperately to get their $4k US a day's money's worth, in a confined area. INSANE... ⁉
Sir can you come to Fulidhoo island..
It looks very nice. 😎
gaby how is the weather i am planning a visit to maldives in a last week of may with a whole family along with kids what you reckon mate is it worth coming there?
Today was spectacular but it's very unpredictable, no way to know what it will be like an hour later. Apparently the monsoon is starting now so it will be rainier through the summer.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos thanks for the quick update buddy have a great time in maldives. 👍
You didn't make to the floating bar?
It's been closed for the past week.
9:00 kitesurfing;)
Looks like you stepped into the worst tourist trap in the world and with bad weather. I'd be hoping on the next plane back to India or Nepal. I'm in Pokhara now, weather is pleasant and cool, with nice hiking in the area.
I’m a subscriber and I watched all your travels very educational, now I always thought the Maldives was only expensive resorts. What is the name of that island in the Maldivies and the name of the hotel you’re staying at for $97 us
Maafushi island, the hotel is the Kaani Palm.
When are you coming to India again
2nd.. Gab are you planning to go to Pacific Island such as Samoa, Fiji, Cook Island, etc???
No plans, but hopefully someday I'll get down to the south Pacific.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos you will love it.
0:49 one egg one sausage again
do you need any staff?
Maldivians have many things for breakfast, but somehow strangely they serve this combination you just mentioned (sausage, egg and bread) to foreigners (perhaps they assume foreigners will not like Maldivian food). Unfortunately restaurants do not serve variety of Maldivian food. Its like potato in the world. there are many varieties of potato, but what is exported are only one or two varieties around the world. if you like roshi (flat bread) and curry it is available or one other breakfast food is mashuni and roshi. mashuni is tuna mixed with coconut. it is eaten with roshi (flat bread). Also traditionally we used to eat boiled breadfruit. There are many maldivian food... im not really sure why some restaurants don't serve. many restaurant workers are also not maldivians. pls do ask maldivians you see in hotel or in the island. i think they will be happy to guide you or assist you with information.
Great, thanks for the info.
💡👍
I Gabriel, what's the version of your go pro?
This is filmed with a DJI, link below the video. I also have a Gopro 10 which I use for underwater shots.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos dji action 2? I am undecided between that one, and go pro 10, but the problem with this later one everybody talks about is the overheat and random shutdowns.. Do you notice that also?
I haven't used the DJI Action 2 yet but I really don't like the looks of it, looks super complicated to use. I recommend the DJI Action 1. I haven't had major problems with the Gopro 10 shutting down or overheating so it's a good option as well. But I prefer the DJI for a bunch of reasons.
👍👍👍
1st like and 1st comment 😍
Got it, congrats.
Any fishing plzzzz?
👍👍
When is the best time of year to go ?
I think in the winter, November to April.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos thank you sir

Thank you for a trip that I will never make probably. You have been landing up during the wrong weather. Time to pray to weather Gods.

Those rooms are not cheap.
I always thought the maldives were in America and now I discover they're close to india lol
