Here from your podcast with Alberto Mendoza. Insightful content, man! Fx6 has been the camera with the fastest operation I’ve ever used and that’s the most valuable asset for me. New subscriber.
Bro! Same, especially going from doc to commercial to run and gun. Its the only camera with all the versatility. Thanks for the sub bro! Been following you since like vlog number 4 haha
They make wonderful cams. I never upgraded because my F55 will do everything I need. 600mbps XAVC, 16 bit linear RAW, hell it shoots X-OCN. It’s a full blown cinema cam. But I love Sony cams so much, the look, the color, the workflow, it’s so great.
whats crazy is sony gives you slog-3 in all of them too. The fx30 was just going for $1600 and its almost as good image as an fx9. Canon doesnt give you clog2 in the cheaper cameras so you really have to spend more to get a decent log image.
Very true! I honestly dont keep up anymore with a7c line as well. I have seen them with 10bit 422. I shoot a lot with my a7iv, especially for this style of videos and I still get my slog looking great with good dynamic range. Its only getting cheaper to get a great codec image.
My man if you're ever up in OC or LA holler would love to link up! We shoot commercial and doc work on the FX3,6's, and 9's when not renting requested packages.
You hit the nail on the head: other cinematographers don't want to have multiple FX6 and if they did actually need two for a job, then they probably need an extra camera operator.
@@JesusMartinezCreates Sharper is better for adding VFX, so for my indie TV show I ended up with an FX30, A6700 (dedicated green screen camera), three RX0, one RX0 II, and RX10 IV and I'm selling my A7C for a ZV-E1. Tilta has a good cage for the ZV-E1 with a lot of metal and a fan for $220. I hope it will work. I've found that the A7C and FX30 still can't replace the RX10 IV because sometimes you need to match your camera to a JPEG image and the cameras are too good, and using a higher ISO on the 1" sensor of the RX0, RX10 or RX100 actually works perfectly. When I want to have multiple story lines going in my TV show, I can switch cameras and you know from the look which story line it is.
I must be one of the unlucky ones. I've used it on one short shoot, and now it's useless. It says there's an accessory connected to the GRIP terminal even though the GRIP is detached. This has really dented my confidence with it. Upgraded from an FS5 and luckily haven't sold it. Have you ever had this problem?
Have you called sony? Mine came bricked waited 3-4 months for a camera that didnt work. Called then and had it sent out by the camera store where I had purchased it. Definitely call sony especially if youre in warranty.
I can’t figure it out, you will be hired for just videography, you will be on the scene without any camera?a videographer without camera?soryy for being confused
Yes! Agencies/production companies might have a standard way of shooting and editing. That includes the camera system. They sometimes have internal equipment and will make you shoot on that. They also might want to save on the $300+ camera Kit rental I would add to my day rate. You get hired for your reel. Thats all that matters. Sometimes, they seek a specific canera and thats when owning a camera system can help especially if they are seeking the specific system you own. I get more requests for my fx6/fx3
C200 is still a fantastic camera for short film/doc/music video work. I shoot on the Ursa Mini Pro G2 but have seen some highly skilled DPs shoot full features on the C200 and it looked great!
Wait, let me be like the comment section. When does the Mark II come out? It’s going to be way better. If you upgrade from the FX6 to the FX6 Mark II, your ROI is a dumpster fire.
Sorry. It’s about the user, not the camera. Yes, obviously gear matters you cant be like “wELL shOot oN An iPHone theeEn…” and get the same quality as a cinema camera, but it has to do with bit depth and color depth not the actual form factor. You can make breathtaking things with a camera half the price and have a significant amount of more mobility. It’s about how youre shooting: your lighting, camera movement, and lenses. Go out and shoot with what you have. None of us are going to be Roger Deakins or Alejandro Inratú, so go do your best with what you have. …also, learn to edit well lol. Thats a huge part of making good things.

Bought the fx6 when it first dropped, upgrading from an FS5. I can tell you for sure it is still worth it and will make your work more valuable.
Just used it today on gimbal, im even more in love with my fx6 🙌🏻

Definitely still worth in 2024 😅 best cinematic greetings from a german FX6 filmmaker
Hey! Glad to see you around! 💪🏻
i haven't watched the video yet but how did you get that cool background 😮 is it a projector mount? Looks so cool
I think this was the amaran spotlight on like a 200x light from amaran as well

Yes! Pretty happy with mine, dont see a reason to upgrade 🫡

You got me on IG?

Yes, I havent had a client say no to fx3 bcam

thanks, great, a fx6 owner myself.

maybe....@@JesusMartinezCreates
Awesome video dude!
Thanks bro! I really appreciate it! 🙏🏼
thats a good point about using the FX6 as a rental 🤔
Yes, but I only rent to friends I work with 🤝🏻

i think i will definetly get a FX6 over a FX3 ❤️
Both are great systems, those internal ND in fx6 are amazing though 🙌🏻
Worth every penny still today

@@JesusMartinezCreates like what?
Which camera would you recommend between the FX6 and the Canon R5C?
Sony, but my opinion is biased since I haven't used an R5c
do you use the raw output ? to the atomos a lot ?
Never haha I do t have the ninja, plus no one ever asks that from me. I shoot slog3 and thats it
How soon will there be an FX6 ii! 👀
I don't know but my fx6 will easily be a B cam for that
Worth it? My FS7 is still perfectly fine in 2024. Kids. lol
