New one: Better technology, better overall car.
Old one: Better sound, more soul.
We have a 2019 now and it is loud af and also pops and crackles so much in sport+ I genuinely believe the difference between the pre-facelift and facelift sound is much smaller than people think
@@BurgoYT It's not quiet for sure. But compare them next to each other, you'll notice a sizeable difference. You really have to push the new one to get it to pop and crackle.
@@HiddenWen 2019 one sounds like it could wake up the whole neighbourhood with the valves open if you give it a bit, I know the pre-facelift may be a bit louder but I don’t think it makes it sound better. Also the pops and crackles in sport+ you don’t need to push it much and it does continuous pops for 1-2 seconds after letting off the gas/downshifting

I upgraded from my 2018 c63 coupe to the 21' c63s coupe and I wasnt too excited about the change but as soon as it was delivered it changed my mind as soon as I saw it. After driving it for awhile now Im glad I upgraded.
I've had the edition one since January and I chose it over the normal edition because of the gorgeous matte colour and yellow quilted stitched interior. It looks special and matches the personality of the V8 more. The new C63 has some great new options however it isn't a big difference apart from that. Both gorgeous cars in the end and no regrets if you had either.
Pick my 2017 edition 1 up on Saturday. First ever merc, first ever AMG. Cant wait! 😎

Just wondering is the exhaust of c63s edition 1 sound louder than normal c63s?
I have the 2018 edition 1 right before the face lift, i still prefer mine over the new one, the 2019/2020 exhausts dont pop as much and as loud during driving, down shifting pops on the previous model is much louder, power and engine wise, both exactly the same,

Our 2019 pops and crackles so much in sport+ it’s really not as bad as some people make it out to be, also very loud

Who cares you can’t afford one
The Facelift's exhaust note is muted compared to the pre facelift, artificial exhaust sound going through the speakers and no diamond stitching seats available for the facelift.
Only upside to the old model is the exhaust note. My 2019 C63S is super fun car that is much easier to live with than the old model.

@@pritpalreel 2019 Suspension is much better, both in comfort and the transmission and control of the settings. Digital Display is very nice. As I mentioned, the only reason to get an earlier model is better sound. All other aspects of the car have been improved in the facelift model. There are a number of good reviews on this issue; Remove Before Race has a good review for you to watch.

I ordered the 2019 C63S and I love it. I didn't like the digital display so I got it with the analog version. Other than that, I think the new 2019 facelift is awesome and much sportier and aggressive than the 2018.

Unless you really need the 9 speed, it’s merely cosmetics which could be swapped out. Even the digital display and cluster could be retrofitted to factory which I plan on just for the convenience of CarPlay while having a stock look (not just adding a CarPlay module) when the analog bothers me enough.

it is great that you've produced this video. would have been good if you can do a second one to compare the traction control systems in practice/ real world use !
I thought the same thing with my c63s ie whether I should upgrade but I can live without the new looks, tech , softer ride and better traction control system for sure. Also not having to take a second round of depreciation especially is a big reason for me not to switch. the facelift looks to be a phenomenal car though, definite step up from the pre facelift .

Get them both you can still sell the new one in a couple of years and keep the Edition 1 which is a collectable and will definitely be a classic
Got my dark grey C63s recently, absolutely love it. Only quip: it guzzles gas like no other, but it's a necessary trade-off for the power you wield behind the wheels.
Try a V12 S600 haha the fuel consumption on your C63s is nothing on the old mercs or even the old 6.2L M156 engine haha. :)
@@thatmatty231guy I've rode in them before. Yes, you can actually see the gas meter drop after driving for a bit, it's that bad.

I had the 2017 C63S Coupé and was ready to upgrade to the facelift C63S. But after driving the facelift, the interior engine sound was so fake and digitized I cancelled and got an F-Pace SVR. Maybe the OPF killed the engine/exhaust sound forcing them to synthesize it but it was really obvious and such a let down from the pure AMG sound of my 2017. Oh well, one more hoorah for Jag’s 5.0 V8 before pure V8 sound is gone forever

Being that you have owned both the AMG GTS and C63 variants.... what advice would you give to me torn between the two? Do you feel the C63 S or Edition 1 leaves you feeling as special? Appreciate your input.
the c63 is an all round car and can be daily driven etc and has more space (especially the estate) and more seats and it is more slidey and playful (especially the estate which is the best drifter out of these cars). if you don't need the extra space and have the extra funds available and aren't planning to daily drive it then fair enough . the GT is a beast but is limited as a vehicle and is really wide too , so if you live in an area that has narrow roads it doesn't help. I would buy the GTC personally if I was loaded !
Between a C63 and AMG GT S, there's no contest. Go for the GT S.
New one as it has new tech, more aggressive look, coupled with old Black forged alloy wheels and better handling. New ones will hold its value better. I would buy a pre-owned one where possible to minimise the loss in value thru depreciation of brand new unit. Given, the global supply chain issue the prices for both new and pre-owned is very firm. If I was in your shoes I would update the old car's steering wheel, centre screen, and re-colour yellow trims with white by colour dye specialist to match it with new model and have the paint and wheels ceramic coated to offer a more updated one-off version for best resale value. Sell it privately on major UK's carsales site to maximise the price. Hope it helps.

Weak eye dominant you need to listen this in real life, the v8 is truly amazing considering it is turbo 4.0L
It’s a no brainer to run with facelift .. you get the 9speed and GTR traction control.. the downside from facelift is you cannot do a standing burnout .. as soon as you touch the brake to initiate the burnout traction control comes on.. you cannot turn it off even tho it’s off … the other downside is MB added the CPC module.. so to do stage 2 tune you need to spend $2k .. where as pre facelift no CPC… oh and the exhaust for facelift version is super quiet than pre facelift no pops

So the facelift still has that stuck-on media screen :-/ That's going to date the interior very quickly.
It looks better than the old one, and the resolution is much better. It's not that bad at all.
Actually beginning to think it looks better than the integrated screens into the dashboard like Audi and Landrover. The BMW have such a ugly shape. I think this is really good with the wide screen
The screen is actually not bad, the old one was very annoying, but in my new C-Class it looks extremely nice and very well integrated.
Iv had the older C63 AMG s and now have the 2021 and i for one wouldn’t go back to the older ones.

The facelift model is a real improvement over the ffl Model! I still prefer the old one. The heck of the fl Model is beautifuller but the Front is uglier.
You must be deaf if you prefer OPF filtered sound of the 2019 C63.

The piano black center applique is horrendous. Every 1+ year old car shows swirls & scratches. Then matte wood has no place in an AMG, so I’ve had a hard time finding the carbon fiber option, which should be standard. Looking at 1-3 year old C63s & there are loads of them out there for low $60s (US), but seldom optioned generously.

Also not a fan of the new headlight design. If you didnt know and were asked which headlight design was newer, I have a feeling most people would say that pre facelift was the newer design. I think they missed the mark with the headlights and the sound. The sound kills it for me. I simply wouldn't purchase the car if it sounds the way it sounds on video.
