I don't know how true this is because I heard it second hand, and the person who told me is well known and I gave my word not to ever reveal his identity when recanting this tale, but long story short, he said if you play Jordon for money, make sure he brings it with him and you get paid while you're at the course, otherwise, while although you'll get paid eventually and not get stiffed, it's like pulling teeth to get it, and you have to move heaven and earth to "remind' him of what he owes.
@@timothybuck2396 Supposedly Smoltz is or was a +2.7. That’s pretty darn good. However pros don’t have handicaps, but somebody once did some calculations and figured out Tiger would have been a +10 in 2000. He had the exact same scoring average in 2007, so I don’t know if the math necessarily works out, but if it does then he was probably a +10 in 2007 too. If you round up +2.7 to +3 then Tiger would have been 6 shots better than Smoltz. If he gave him 2 shots per side that brings the match down to a paltry 2 shots. Tied going into 18 and one birdie vs one bogey and the match would end in a draw.
He’s the real deal. He legit qualified for the US Senior a open and played in 4 PGA Tour events (shot 74 or better in 8 of the 12 rounds). Here’s highlights of one of the recent ones. ruclips.net/video/RhlMttGlHAs/видео.html
You get a stroke on the hardest hole of those 9 holes. So if you are getting "2 a side" you're getting 4 holes of the 18 where you have a shot advantage against your opponent.
I know John Smoltz is a world class golfer but I seriously doubt that he was within 4 shots of a prime Tiger Woods like he says. At his peak Tiger's scoring average was 2 shots better than the 2nd best player in the world and nearly 4 better than the PGA tour average and as good of golfer as Smoltz is and was he was nowhere near as good as an average PGA Tour player.
That's such BS cause Smoltz could beat Jordan by 10 strokes easily over 18 holes, Smoltz was a scratch golfer & Jordan wasn't even close to that so why didn't Dan Patrick ask Smoltz that? Jordan loved to bet on anything but he Sucked at it that's why he lost so much money betting! SMH
Pet peeve. "Golf" is a noun not a verb. One does not "share stories from golfing with Tiger Woods." One shares stories about playing golf with Tiger. No one ever shared stories about tennising with Arthur Ashe, or baseballing with Johnny Bench. One would think that people in the communication business would know and use proper English grammar. Gotta go. I'm basketballing with Michael Jordan.
Oxford dictionary says otherwise. Golfing is present participle of golf. Though I prefer play golf as well. Funny enough, basketballing has a different meaning per urban dictionary
@@jackaltricipi Basketballing does indeed have a different meaning. ha ha. As for present participle, ok, but I can assure you that Tiger Woods never ever once in his life said "Let's go golfing." No golfer does.
John Smoltz is one of the greatest pitchers in MLB history and one heck of a competitor
Smoltz one my favorite pitchers ever. His playoff record was disgustingly great.
Their drone camera is so official

Rich Eisen and DP have the exact same shows now…lol
Jordan said when Steph was interviewing him at the Ryder cup he once played 63 holes in a day, he's obsessed with golf
Feel sorry for his caddy lol
That’s damn near impossible.
Tiger talks about how good Smoltz was.
So basically in order for Tiger to win the 2023 Masters John Smoltz just needs to talk shit to him all week.
My guy claims he’s 50/50 against tiger getting 2 shots a side … not just ever … but when he’s #1 in the world?
Dont believe it either

As it tigers going full 100 either he’s probably hungover or somethinh
@@Whoopdido777 But +2.7 is at the club, not in a tournament setting, you can add at least 4 to that, when the heat is on, big difference.
Expected more out of that.

someone explain what is 1 a side, 2 a side, 3 a side. thanks.

It was match play, not stroke. Makes a big difference
Match play. Tiger has admitted smoltz took his money on a couple occasions. I know hard to believe
Putting is all confidence. Lol
