That's the atomic way.
They modeles and textured the teeth and gums, inside a mouth that is never open, behind a mask that is never removed. Did they used a woman head as base to sculpt the robot head around it, then forgot to remove the mesh reference?
Seems likely, otherwise I wouldnt know why theres a womans face inside there lol
It was probably easier to do the animations if there was already some kind of "blueprint" on the faces rather than make different facial structures everytime. I imagine thats how it probably happens but Im not qualified
It's also possible that the story was supposed to have a different direction and eventually you'd get to see the faces without the masks.
Probably we'll see pretty faces of this robo-girls in some DLC )

The reason why they have faces is due to an alpha version of the game they were originally going to have the main character hallucinate his dead wife's face on them when he beat their boss fight. But that part was cut from the game, so they just keep the faces in the game but just had it always covered.
Okay, that's awesome and also sort of disgusting. But hey, we now see how they rig faces before adding eye details!

I'm not saying you're wrong, but the real reason is probably because it was easier to hide a face than to program a new static face to attach to the generic NPC body. There were probably unforseen bugs, hence why both sisters have faces.
For example, do you know that in Republic Commando when you shoot the droids heads off, all that actually happens is that the devs shrink the droid's head until its the size of a pea? The effect of an exploding head is just sold very well by the particle effects.
Development is full of these whacky short-cuts.
These devs know about design the main dish is in the exact middle of the screen
I know it's getting mixed reviews but for their first game it's pretty impressive, I hope it succeeds.
It's better than most games that come out these days. The level of detail and animations are insane
Most of these negative reviews are purely political. You don't get top of the sales for a first game if it's not good.
@@burningsinner1132 um did you go into negative reviews under steam? you would be surprised to hear that they all complain about boring gunplay and story, yes game looks amazing and it has an amazing concept.. just poorly executed.
and the people with political reviews are mostly from other side of the internet such as twitter, spewing nonsense how this game is "communist propaganda" whilst its not.
i am one of the people that WISHES this game was anything it promised to be, it is not .. lets hope the dlc makes the game more bearable and expands on the story more.
The only thing I found that’s lowkey a bit annoying is the constant dialogue from the main character.

Once you filter these, it more or less fits the Metacritic score: Stylish game that is okay and filled with small details which require some soviet knowledge/background to catch them. Also, quite a lot of reviews were based on PIRATED version playthrough, which is october-november dev build.

These really are good models and designs, all fetish commentary aside. They made an excellent set of iconic enemies for the game, and we saw how Lady Dimetrescu helped get RE VIII moving units. Care, attention to detail, a very solid concept, and more than a bit of sexy. It's a winning formula.
And like RE7 utterly wasted the characters as mere advertising bait instead of being integral to the overall play experience.
@@IRMentat Yeah, it's a serious problem with these kind of setups. Remember Shadow of War? Same thing happened with Bruz the Chopper, a legit fun and funny character. He got a good enough fan response they even brought back the VA for some extra ad spots and the like. Naturally, in the most logical design choice possible, you lose him after the tutorial where you're forced to either kill him or break his brain (so even if you DO keep him around he's lost his personality and fun). Sometimes it's hard to tell what goes through the head of a design team.
Congrats to the people that beat the twin bosses with one hand on the controller really skilled people did this including me

In the late-development build, you can find the video still floating around. During the final fight with the Twin, one of their mask would be blown off ,and the body would float down with her face exposed. Devs just glued the Helmet plate because it didn't make sense as prior to the final fight, Charles *ONLY* mentioned the MCs Wife's brain is split into two. Left and Right. but no additional lore about keeping the head intact. so they just covered it up. Likeley they forgot to redo a script late in development.

Interesting, so the right robot wearing the coat has a human face and skin, and the left side has an obscure face like something synthetic. Those who played knows who is the face and head of the ballet robots. The ballet pose makes them sexier lol
Its not a synthetic material, its just a standart Unreal Engine noisy checkered texture. This applies to the mesh automatically by the engine if no other material is assigned by the developer. So I assume they just left it as is for now and maybe will finish it later for some dlc.
Frankly that's some impressive dedication and attention to details by the modeling team, kudos to them, if anything in this game gets 10/10 it's the art/visual designs and graphics.

seeing the first, i was theorizing maybe the two weren't robots from the start, but essentially corpses inside a robot-themed shell in order to hide that fact. But the second having no textures threw that out the window. Probably in an earlier draft they planned on having their faces revealed at some point, but then dropped it.

But they were made from P-3's wife, they have each part of the brain, but skin and face could only be used for 1. So because of this, 1 twin got human face, while the other one - synthetic robotic face
Yeah, it was going to have at least Right's face be shown either after you defeat them and/or during the Twin Ending. There's a version of that development piece in a video online somewhere!

Ну,с сюжетной точки зрения,это лицо женщины внутри роботов имеет место быть.. Но,скорее всего,это и в правду ошибка.
@@fakyr6480 нет, не имеет. Это полностью роботы, с перенесенными навыками баллета и боя жены главного героя. Лицо внутри скорее всего оставлено случайно, потому что является стандартным лицом движка UE.
@@fakyr6480 В ряд ли это ошибка, скорее просто внутри движка за основу для близняшек используется стандартная человеческая модель, на которую натянут "костюм" робота, плюс добавлен свой скелет с пакетами анимаций. В нормальной игре без фрикама такое нельзя увидеть.
@PepsiVor соски сделаны потому что модель балерины красят поверх, создавая костюм. У балерин из театра в игре соски тоже есть.

Nope, that's just a regular female spine. The Male and female spine are not he same, the female has more curve to it and is shorter. so Its a lot more noticeable here because these "girls" are toned and in shape, or rather they were moddled after woman that are in shape.

I think when the devs designed them, their faces was supposed to be a screen. When the screen turns on, it will show the face behind them revealing that the twins were the wife of the protagonist's personality and the face reveal was to add salt to the wound

самое смешное, что разрабы создали этих персонажей явно по приколу. Собирательный образ разных стереотипов.
1) На Западе о русском балете знают. И знают больше наверное, чем мы сами. Я бы называл это уже почти "клюквой". Вспомнить хотя бы высер "Красный воробей" с Лоуренс.
2) Про прическу даже говорить не надо.
3) В профиль видна гипертрофированная модельная поза с откляченной жопой, напоминающая каких-то инопланетян (в мемах таких моделей сравнивают обычно с карликовыми пришельцами из "Людей в черном 2")
и это я еще не играл в игру. Там явно еще какие-то сюрпризы можно найти, которые помогали созданию образа.
@@GoodwineProt Образ взят на 100% с медсестер из сайлет хилла. В остальном они сделали этот образ роботизированным, что на самом деле гениально. Ну и за маской скорее всего и правда есть лицо. Это отсылает к робокопу. Синтез человека и машины.

Being a Saint Seiya fan, if there´s something better than a mysterious, strong and beautiful woman (or robot/androids in this case, at least it seems they were intended to be part human in the alpha with the wife thing) is a mysterious beautiful woman wearing a mask, whose face will be revealed in the right circumstances!
Damn sure that's intentional. They knew we'd be knee deep in game files by day one looking for a robot mommy fix.

I participated in the Atomic Heart playtest before the game was released. In the original ending, the twin face was supposed to be shown to the player. However, I offered not to show it, and the developers agreed that everyone could think of her face on their own. Now in the release version, the face is not shown. Perhaps the developers heeded my advice, or maybe I was not the only one with the same idea.

Same thing happened with Doomslayer on Doom 2016 it actually had a face model but with pretty low resolution. Maybe we will see their pretty faces on a sequel.

@@salimabdullayev7529 Это точно намек. Да и уже известно, что они это жена глав героя. То есть из нее вполне могли слепить "робокопа", но в двойном экземпляре. Поза в которой она стоит, и вообще стиль боя может отсылать к тому, что она раньше занималась балетом.

Забавен тот факт, что голова сделана в виде скафандра. Он похож на нового робокопа. То есть, если бы разрабы захотели, часть лица могла быть открыта(рот), а другая скрываться за маской, но они этого не сделали. Загадка в том, есть ли за маской вообще, что либо, кроме некой "субстанции" в колбочке.

I think this face for model i mean the creators modeling the robot twins models on this girl model and they for got delete face. They face is moving because game creators get game animations on (maybe) another prototype game.
I think it’s possible that for the ending cutscene where one of the twins (your wife) flys to you to grab your hand in limbo was originally going to have your wife’s face but probably decided against it but left the face there in the model.
I still cant believe how down bad everyone was for them.
