- Four-time Paralympics gold medalist Jason Smyth may have limited vision, but he never lets challenges limit what he can accomplish. He knows his talents are a blessing from God. Learn more about overcoming trials at bit.ly/39LggiM
Jason Smyth is from Ireland and runs the 100- and 200-meter sprints. In the winters Jason spends his time in Florida to train. He is able to spend his time there with top athletes who he says push him to run faster. Jason has less than 10 percent vision due to a condition called Stargardt disease. He is able to see colors but no details. He loved sports growing up and he knew he wanted the chance to do that in his life. Beijing 2008 was his first Paralympics Games, and he took the gold in both the 100 and 200 meters. He was able to do the same in London and set world records for both. He set a goal to make the Olympics in Rio. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been a great influence for him. He knows he has been blessed with a talent and wants to improve it. Jason is a sprinter, a four-time gold medalist and a husband.

Thanks for sharing your life with us Jason. Love it.
Glad to see someone grounded in their Faith even with all the "worldly' experiences he has. Incredible to not let what could be a disability get him down, but to overcome challenges. Awesome! Thanks for sharing. This motivates me a ton, I watch it when I need a pick me up. You're awesome Jason! Thanks!
Well done Jason, Enjoyed watching the Olympics, thanks for putting your story on here I really enjoyed watching it.

Great example of overcoming obstacles, or not letting anything limit you.
Chris Jackson "Come on! ye prosecutors! ye false swearers! All hell, boil over! Ye burning mountains, roll down your lava! for I will come out on top at last. I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him; but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet...When they can get rid of me, the devil will also go." You AmAze Me Jason, You Are Humble And Think You Have A Disability Its Your FAITH That Gives You Vision, Not Your I...Consider The Source Of Your Name...You Represent The Y A Smith Decided To Risk It All To Make Someone Else Matter, He Had The Vision Before Where I Can See It Now Because You Represent What A Mormon At Its Core Is About...More Of A Man...MoreMan....:) #BeProud :) ONward Forrest :)

Good Looking wife:)
Inspirational guy, but I credit his achievements more to his incredibly hard work and training rather than some mystical deity who deemed it fit to give him a degenerative eye disease as a child...
I am praying for all Mormons. I am a christian. You have been deceived to think you are also a christian. Having a nice story to tell doesn't change the fact that you won't be in heaven when you die. God bless you and I pray you will come the knowledge of the lies the Mormon church has told you. It isn't too late to accept Jesus as your personal savior and be saved!
