    Let’s be honest with ourselves.
The market is really down now.
The 2ndary market is not going for very high prices.
Which leads to less people backing due to less demand and more people waiting.
There was a large over saturation of games made and produced.
A lot of them are great but there are too many for the audience. The audience didn’t grow enough and the same people bought all the games and now regret having too many games.

I'm in that position, Used to back a lot, pass on stuff through secondary market, which is more or less dead, which has led me to get, very, very picky on backing stuff now or buying new games at all, usually if I don't like something then someone will buy it and I will salvage some money for another game, but this is not the case anymore.

Board games are no longer good investments.

@@siriactuallysara I've never really seen them as an investment, if I like a game I will keep it, but some games I like the look off open them up read some of the rules and think not for me, then sell them on, not looking to make money on them but to pass them on and have some money to back something else or buy something else, but lately its turned into a sole buyers market, where you sell stuff and lose a lot of money, to the point where sometimes your barely getting anything after posting than change.
I used to take a risk on something I liked the look of, but due to being in a position where now your likely to lose 50%+ of the money you paid out, its made me a lot pickier when it comes to buying and backing games, its just not sustainable to keep losing money like that.

Yeah. I see all the time big games like Bloodborne with all the expansions for sale. Some still have the shrink-wrap on. Nobody is buying them - unless the seller goes down half price on more.

@@nanorider426 Its crazy how things have gone, I have even put games into storage now where I am not willing to part with them, even if I won't play them for the money people are not willing to pay.

I really think that I would love Aeon Trespass Odyssey. I have had to resist as I have a number of ongoing campaign games and I don't have the time for it. I love Oathsworn and I thought that I was getting it to the table regularly. I have been playing it this week and realised that the last time I played was October 2023! I have too many games and too many miniatures to paint!

I really enjoy these crowdfunding hype check vids. But I wish you'd also cover smaller and cheaper games, not just the $100-500 ministravaganzas.

If you can get a copy of Leviathan Wilds, you should do so as I think you would really like it, it's a great co-op or solo game. The Grip mechanism is really interesting and thematic, playing with the different characters and classes keeps the game fresh.

I tried Dead Cells board game on Tabletopia and than purchase the video game to compare and it's different. When compared with Slay The Spire which is almost the same as the video game but longer and the potential to play coop. Personally, between the 2, Dead Cells the board game feels more unique IMO and I never felt like I needed a longer version of Slay The Spire. I like to play all 3 acts in about 20-45 mins and I've heard that 1 act of the board game is about 1h+. Meanwhile, the combat in Dead Cells is picking 1 to 3 cards and seeing how it resolves and then moving on to the next node. Only the boss fight are longer which is to be expected.

Your right on ATO - I love the game, all in on the first one, all in on Kingdoms Forlorn, and as much as I would love to get 12SoH, that would be too much. I think it looks like a better version of ATO, but really don’t need it.

Regarding minis, comparing when I play Massive Darkness 2 and Mage Knight. In mage knight, I just flip the token, and it keeps playing. In MD2, it becomes sorting through different levels of loot cards, looking for minis in the boxes, etc.I some of these games I feel like putting a single mini and a dice next to it to track how many enemies are there.

Leviathan Wilds is great! I pledged the Hunter level with all hunters for Iceborne. I was happy with that decision but now the PM is temporarily opened again. I don’t need more! Haha. Especially because Primal is awesome!

I played Astro Knights last week and enjoyed it. It felt quicker and less fiddly than Aeons End, but I was never a huge fan of that game.

3 minute boardgames did a video about this recently - keeping a stable of forever games - really keeping that under control - the games you know you love playing and will play for years and years instead of chasing new games literally every week - it's just not sustainable

Campaigns longer than 20-40 hours are considered finished unless you have a committed group. I might do a shorter replayable campaign again with different characters or decisions.
