Great tips Bac! Many techs think of the loc as a throw away sequence that doesn't matter but it's very important. I would also recommend a short video on using the loc to check positioning and coil placement.
I have heard that using a flash or SE based localizer will give you a better SAR calculation for the rest of the exam vs. the HASTE. Any truth to that?
Interesting. I haven’t heard of it and haven’t been meeting any problems regarding sar whenever using haste. However, I think its more important how your sequences are optimised throughout your exam. Where did you hear this? I mean have you been experience this?
Ok thanks. Really interesting though. Nevertheless, pushing haste as original from siemens tree will enhance sar issue. So it need to be modify from my opinion due to sar.
Localizer on siemens are a flash based. If you go in Protocol-part 1 (or 2) you see the name of the sequence is flash. I've noticed when using haste loc instead of Flash you sometimes get the SAR pop-up. I think it's due to the lower TR and the flip angle , I didn't reduce it at first like Bac did.
I have a question that is a little unrelated please. Why is it that some patient seems to make the SAR levels go up. I had a patient for an L spine who told me on a previous scan he got very warm. While doing his spine i noticed that his sar levels were getting higher than with regular patients.

Thanks joe. 🥰
Thank you, very valuable info!
Knowledgeable information 👍
Very impressive
Thank you Bac, i will try these optimizations!!! Thank you👍👍👍
Hey Mr Bac. Congrats, im dimo's son :D I also want to be a radiographer :D
You’re father is a magician within this field. 👍
great intro and video keep up Man 👌
Thanks 🥰
Where did you pull the Haste 2 step from? I'm on a Siemens Magnetom 1.5 Aera, but our software is older. Our Whole Spine doesn't include that option.
Just custom made from our routinely protocol. Can find these haste from abdomen in the siemens tree. And just optimise then.
Hi Bac🤝
Tell me pls,if "introduction" OFF ,scan will be faster?
Sorry for my English, I from Russia 😅
Yes saves a few seconds.
@@Nguyen_MRI thanks,Bac🤝🤝🤝😎
@@Ahaha4 you're welcome☺️
i tell all the students that locs are your best friend
☺️. Nice way to highlight how important locs are 👍

@@Nguyen_MRI I heard it from apps, but that was many years ago. I haven't gotten a chance to test it

Good question. Here is more info to your question. : www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5875836/
@@Nguyen_MRI Thanks for sharing the link.
You’re welcome.
Where I Get the Whole Spine Covering Sequence? Is Already Present in Siemens Protocol or You Adjust the Protocols.
There is localisers in the siemens tree spine folder.
@@Nguyen_MRI thank you so much
