I discovered "about a girl" when I was searching for emo punk songs on RUclips back in 2011. Even though I was born in the year 2000, this is the genre of music I will love forever. Now I'm 24 but still listen to emo punk. Here in the Philippines. If someone finds out that you listen to this kind of music, everyone will call you weird. Lol. It's just sad that this kind of genre is now dead

1:10 Omigosh, so, this was one of the earlier videos I saw when I was first learning about William Beckett/the Academy Is, and the first time I heard that part, I didn't even know who Sisky was! I honestly just thought he said "I'm gonna risky business this part" and I didn't really know what that meant but I knew it was like a movie and I assumed he was referencing the movie somehow. Fast forward, like, a month, and now I've binged all of the TAI TVs in youtube playlists and I just came back to this and went, oh gosh, he's saying Sisky Business's part! How did I miss that? Lol, it's wild looking back and realizing I just straight up didn't know that, and now I can like, tell you the names of Sisky's cats over the years. Anyways, his voice is beautiful here, and this is such a lovely little show :)
@@renmontalvan1665 Oh sure! Okay so William Beckett, the dude who's singing in this video, was the singer of a band called the Academy Is... The band's base player's named Adam T Siska, but as a nickname he'd go by Sisky or sometimes Sisky Business, which was a reference to Risky Business (an old movie). When they preformed this song together as a band, Sisky would do a bit of backup vocals at that spot, like a little "woo!" type thing, but since William's singing this solo here, he's making Sisky's sounds at that part on his own too. Also TAI TV was like this video diary/vlog/sketch series the band did back in the day of fun little videos they made together with everything from fun behind the scenes footage to skits where they pretended to be mafia members. You can still find all the episodes on youtube; it's a fun time, although some of the old videos feel very... high school video project? They're kind of silly but fun. And in some of the episodes you get to meet Sisky's adorable cats, Baby and Little Girl. I also saw from a newer Instagram post of his he now has a little kitty named Mochi. I love all of Sisky's cats very much. Oh, and, bonus fun fact, the band recently announced a reunion! They're going to be playing Riot Fest in Chicago in September, but fans are hopeful there will be a full tour even though nothing beyond Riot Fest is announced yet. So it's a good time to be getting into their music! I lucked out, I started getting obsessed with them like two months before the reunion announcement, so it's a good time for me :) Anyways thanks for letting me ramble about my current interest, I hope this explains whatever you were wondering about but feel free to ask me more :)
