    Elvis was drafted into the army in 1958 and did his 2 year compulsory service. The video shows his return after completing his national service.

    Another beautiful Elvis song and another beautiful Cindy reaction. The man in the hat was his manager. Elvis made his first professional record in 1954 and became an international superstar in 1956. He served in the Army 1958-60 and was stationed in Germany. They told him he could serve his time in an entertainment unit, but he chose to serve as a regular soldier and was in an infantry division. His mother passed away in August of 1958. By the time he was drafted into the Army he already had 25 gold records (million sellers) and two gold albums, had made four movies, and had purchased Graceland. This is an interview as he was leaving for Germany: Elvis interview: September 22, 1958 - Brooklyn, New York (18:48) and another one as he was discharged: Elvis - Post Army Interview (12:58).

    Elvis served 2 years in Germany n he went thru Boot Camp n wanted to be treated like. the other guys. He slept in the snow. He was on Tank duty. Yes that guy was Parker his manager. And yes the cake was for his returned. His mother died during his tour n came home for her funeral n returned to Germany to finish his service. He was very close to his mother n he was depressed about losing her thru the rest of his life. He was starting his career before going in n thought when he came back no one would care. He was very wrong

    Beautiful song. It was a #1 on the charts and early in his career it was Elvis’s favorite song of his recordings. It’s based on the Italian song “O Sole mio “. Always enjoy your reactions.

    Now you've seen handsome Elvis in a uniform. If you haven't seen him in a beard I'd like to see your reaction to: Elvis Presley - Charro! ☆ (3:08). At the time he was leaving for Germany, he said his favorite songs were "Padre" (he recorded this in 1973) and You'll Never Walk Alone" (he recorded this in 1967). Could you react to these? I don't think there are any live performance videos of these.

    In that era, if you were young, you probably either you wanted to be WITH Elvis or you wanted to BE Elvis. No one achieved that much fame that fast. Not even Michael Jackson. It was a music and culture revolution against the old guard. And there is nothing the old guard could do about it but watch.... but they sure tried.

    I never like slow motion. It's okay occasionally. Thanks Cindy That was No 1 in the chart for him. Yes Tom hanks plays Colonel Tom parker. Some say he helped Elvis's career other say he took advantage of Elvis. That he was too strict on Elvis. Not everyone liked him. But The colonel must have done something right. 🤷‍♂️

    Just to think that this song out did anything else Elvis done. It was his biggest selling record, outdoing Teddy Bear, All Shook Up, Don't Be Cruel, Hound Dog, Heartbreak Hotel, Stuck On You, Good Luck Charm, Too Much, Love Me Tender, Are You Lonesome Tonight, Suscipious Minds, I Can't Help Falling In Love With You, that's hard to believe--well, in a way, I guess not. Good Day!

  • @ElissaStark514
    @ElissaStark514 2 года назад +5

    Yes, that was “The Colonel,” Elvis’s super controlling manager, being played by Tom Hanks. This is this first time Tom will be playing someone I despise. And yes, that was the real guy in the video next to Elvis. As always. He was Elvis’s puppet master. It’s always made me angry. I think Elvis would’ve lived longer if not for the colonel.

    • @margarettaylor8107

      Minelli..it was his back that he had issues with. His dr told him not to do all of those moves. If Elvis had not been treated for his pain and mamy other medical issues, he would have suffered needlessly. He had medical issues in 9 of 11 body systems. Sleep disorder..he suffered with since a baby. Without sleep, you die. It is a medical issue that millions have and are treated for. Do you think Elvis should have died by not receiving treatment? Where did you get the garbage info that his pain meds were what cancer patients took? His dad said Elvis had cancer. The autopsy doctor told Vernon. Elvis had pain from various sources. Another is his colon. Have you ever experienced painful cramping. He did very often.He had to leave the stage because of it. Dr Black, his doctor from youth said a virus killed nerves in his colon causing colon problems. He suffered woth them all his life.Elvis told judgmental Memphis Mafia why he needed prescribed meds..to live. Other than that he did not share personal information with them. Not their business. He died from valsavar maneuver causing a heart attack. Not one of his many medical professionals said he was addicted but that he took meds instead for medical issues..Anybody else saying anything else is putting forth garbage to sell books. To be informed for yourself, read Destined to Die Young by Sally Hoedel or watch her interview on RUclips Globetrotting with Trey.

      @@margarettaylor8107U know he was broke? THIS worried him. While in military, officials started giving him meds.. So, therefore, he kept taking them after that... He was not ashamed..He admitted he needed meds to help him rest... He willingly abused his meds..heavily. He was asked to stop. He felt he could not.
      People lied on Elvis like u stated to earn his monies on books being sold. Elvis was not bad like the he was portrayed him in movies. ..about his life.
      Elvis helped a lot of people.
      "He supposed to have had many women" but l think he only had sex with a few?
