7:35 is gold....table tops and whips are the sickest coolest manuver on any bike for more then 30 years by now....ur tables all ways dialed....awesome how to Matt
Best Table tutorial on RUclips. I've already started practicing on my back and the motion feels legit. Started riding two years ago and I'm just now feeling comfortable enough in the air to start trying tricks and I love the steeze of tables.
Heck ya man! I've been trying to learn tables for a while and I've been looking for a good video for it and you must have read my mind or something dude! Thanks this was awesome!
Totally agree, flow and style is the most important thing and defo looks better than flashy full send - its almost like becoming one with your bike and the trail
Man, that looks like so much fun! Love the track and jumps. I need to get a new bike like that one. Not sure where you even buy them anymore. When i was a kid in the 80s i always wondered what they meant when they said "tabletop". Now I know in my 40s. Lol thanks mate! I love bikes to this day.
Awesome Matt good point about learning it on straight jumps I have been trying to learn this trick and have a the tendency to go to hip jumps because they sort of happen naturally and I was doing them oppo which as you explained is best avoided!
I've probably re-watched 8:47 20 times now. It's dope to see this be cleanly executed on (what looks like) a Blue level, maybe double blue, jump for the cats that can't hit any blacks yet. (its me, I'm cat)
I also found with the bars snagging on your T-shirt if you hold your bars further out on the side which goes towards your armpit, you tend to brush your hand rather than your bars snagging
These vids at the trails are the best! Can u do a video on how and when to bail??? I'm one to hang on in there and end up landing with the bike wrapped around me, which hurts a lot lol...
craig hall I just did the same thing you need to bail once certain that you will crash throw you bike away and try to land as least embarrassing as you can when people around
Can you please do a how to Superflip vid mate? Its my favourite looking trick and there are no good tutorials on youtube for them. Cheers from Australia
If you don’t want to catch the bars on your shirt, turn the bars in the air so that they are flat like your bike. Helps a lot and looks steezy AF. Also learn to not grip the grips insanely tight so that your bars can roll in your hands.
Been working on tables for 35 years. I learned 360s, tailwhips, no foot cancans, turndowns, and on and on back in the day but I've never once pulled off a fully clicked table. [[*heads out to dirt jumps to practice tables*]]
I wanna see a double table top (table one side then the other). Best done over a tabletop jump for bonus table
Joe Turner is that even possible? It be super quick
Actually never mind yes it’s possible
gapping over a table on a tabletop doing a double tabletop?
A tableflip
Sebastien Doucet I’ve seen quad tables at the local, well I guess it was more of an invert to unturndown, but still applies

This is awesome!!! Id love to see more videos like this from you!

I love the how-to vid! It’d be great to see more of these style vids, from style to more advanced tricks as well!
More of them Matt . Need this soo much . Loads of practice I guess .
Looks like the trails is starting to run smooth.
Looks sick!
‘You could eat your dinner off that tabletop’ = subbed 😂
Sick Matt.
Not only do I have a much better idea of how to tabletop but 'Trick-Ferret' is now part of my vocabulary forever.
It's a double win tbh.
Took that away too, foampit trick ferrets for the L... 🤣
Dude your tutorials are sick! Love the way you think through the process. Way more common sense than lots I've watched. Thanks mate.
Bloody oath Matt. 360 Table is the cleanest trick ever. So much better than a triple back flip quad barspin tailwhip. 🤙
Great advise! Tabes are my favorite style trick!
That helmet...dude, you remind me sooo much of Commander Keen! Awesome tutorial!
Hah, I knew I have seen it somewhere
You’re really great teaching how to tabletop man 🤘thank you very much!
Awesome Matt good point about learning it on straight jumps I have been trying to learn this trick and have a the tendency to go to hip jumps because they sort of happen naturally and I was doing them oppo which as you explained is best avoided!
9:04 ... Those are the steeziest cases I've ever seen!
Strangely I never thought about trying tricks on my back first. Will definitely help!
Just what I needed !!!! I need to lern hot to "click" it more. Thanks Matt !!!
Love the how to vids. Being brand new to the trick scene 🤙
this is my favorite mtb teacher and youtuber
Mate your vids are for sure the best

(its me, I'm cat)
100% agree. I'd rather watch clean tables all day than a 900 triple barspin.
Just what I needed a Matt tutorial for tables 🎉
I also found with the bars snagging on your T-shirt if you hold your bars further out on the side which goes towards your armpit, you tend to brush your hand rather than your bars snagging
Matt, You are breathtaking, I have my Marin San Quentin 1 to honor my sincere respect :D
Dirt jumping for live I love the vids keep it up
For live or life

Awesome clip, style any day, would love to see a whip tutorial

Great video Matt. Going to try to learn a table on my 2ft mini kicker tomorrow not sure how it will go.
A super flat t-bog on that massive hip would look sick too!
Can you please do a how to Superflip vid mate? Its my favourite looking trick and there are no good tutorials on youtube for them. Cheers from Australia
Nice vid! Thanks and I am really glad you didn’t Table this topic for something else!
Absolutely awesome 😎
I think maybe I'll learn to jump first! Great "how to" though!😆
Wicked vid Matt cheers, I’m trying this one on the ebike, not quite there yet

Love your Videos! Keep up the good work!
Yes that is absolutly right , more videos like this , more videos how to do tricks
I’m left foot forward but I feel more comfortable doing tabletop to my right side, extending my left arm. I’m more comfortable turning to my left tho.
Special Greg obviously the best
Love the vid big man
I like this Video
Nobody can get on your steez Level
I want to do Progress with that in my riding . So I'm gonna feel more satisfied with myself

Don't forget to loosen your grip and slightly rotate the hand that goes to your gut. Thanks Matt!!!
Nice video and Woburn is looking sick
feeling your vibe...💪
Show how you are teaching completely newbie doing manual or something else in one day.
This will be great tutorial!
Steeze over anything unless your racing otherwise its pointless! Can't wait to learn tabletops properly!
Nice to see an upload
“Spot of bother” 🤣🤣🤣
This was sick, you should do a how to euro table too
But...if i'm left foot forward. Wouldnt it be much easier to table it to the right to have more clearence for the saddle?
Oooh, my favorite table top combi will probably be a table top 360:P
I'm on a quest to try learn T-bogs and Tables this year. Fingers crossed Ehhh :).
7:40 Ryan Williams just got knocked the f out
You got the steezy but I personally feel like the tabletop MUST have the bars turned so the front wheel is pointed straight up
Loving this kind of content Matt - Motowhip please ...
my hip jams up when I try to table in the 'correct' direction.
Good stuff big dog!!!!!. The mtb game is way out there now.. Do you answer questions on tech?
I like the video make more thank for the info it helps
MORE HOW TO'S PLEASE!
Ur the man a sware grt vids keep it up bro 💪👌
Can you learn this just jumping off things? I don’t have a jump Live in the middle of the city
Do a how to on bar spins mate🤘
Dope video
Back in the day I swear these were called “flat whips” or more commonly heard as “flatties”
which cube is this you use on the back?
So so good
Watching Matt Jones do an actual table top looks like he's doing a dab
Great vid
Keep this up matt!
What's the difference between a Tabletop and a whip?
I rode dirt bike in the 80's and always heard tabletop
what about on a dh bike, the bars wont turn that far? is it possible?
awesome video - more how to vids please
still here 2 years later :)
Awesooome!!!)))
What hub do u have?
thanks bro, I needed this
I always do a bar turn then tuck it in till the wheel touches the opposite shoulder, am I doing it wrong or is this just a different way to do it?
I'll try tommorrow👍
What kind of bike is that trick-ferret riding?
Just watched this in 2024 again. Is Emil a trick ferret? xD
yO! what rear hub do you have in this video!?
The hand that tucks in, if you put your hand riiiight at the bar end, your hand will stop it getting snagged up.
Man this is the only trick i can do and let me tell you after watching this video i feel like i was just leaning...
The word tabletop now makes me want to eat and attempt this stunt vicariously
what 510s are the ones u are wearing
Is this going to be hard when my bike is super heavy?
Cracking tutorial Matt! Question, what's your handlebar width? Cheers
I know now what I'm gonna do tomorrow.
Please please come to Aston hill on the wolf ridge its in Hertfordshire
Yo I live in Cambridge I don’t know where to like ride around if you could find anywhere I can like ride that would mean the world to me
Can you get this good at riding if you’re 27 and never ridden jumps before?
Definitely
Nothin'beta than the sound of a halo supa drive hub👌
