Love the videos I earn a basic wage from a supermarket and watch managers and staff turn up in fancy cars most likely on finance and these videos keep me pegged down to keep investing instead. :)
Living modestly is a life hack!
that’s an awesome position to be in at 30 well done you 👏
Thank you so much. Situations can change in a heartbeat, never forget.
Great stuff Jubair! I'm 18 and this brings me a lot of motivation. 💪
Thanks as always Dylan!
Love this update! Well done you! You've clearly invested very aggressively and accumulated a great nest egg.
You're 8% growth assumption feels a little ambitious though? Credit Suisse (RIP!) used to publish different asset returns and they pegged after inflation returns for global equities over the long term at about 5% so might be worth running a few different scenarios
Those food snaps look fantastic - do you have a pizza oven for those pizzas? I keep weighing up if its worth it for me, would love to hear your thoughts if you have one.
I've taken about a year off from work and loved it, even managed to massively grow my wealth in that time, then if you go back into the work place (i'm considering it at the moment) you're still set in the background.
Best of luck mate. Hope you're enjoying scotland!
Thanks Chaz! I do think that 8% is pretty optimistic, my main thing has always been cashflow though, so income will always be important (even though it will be away from traditional employment for now).
No pizza oven actually, my wife just uses a normal gas oven, works pretty well still. I'd love one of those pizza ovens eventually, the one's that make a pizza in minute.
You're doing really well on your investments btw, and obviously you understand the risks!
@@Dr.JubairsFinance Those pizzas looked so good for a normal oven! I looked into building myself a proper wood fired one but it can get pretty pricey! I clearly just need a better pizza recipe
Takes a lot of courage to post your financial status online! Love the fact you provide value and 100% transparent. I hope you keep receiving dividends from your efforts
Thank you for taking your time to write that! Means a lot
Started with putting little amount in to ..... iitu ...vuag .....vukg would I be good dumping aload off money in there is there any other recommendations
This video is brilliant…. Love your honesty regarding hating working for someone else…. I couldn’t agree more, can’t wait till I can retire…. I’m much older than you but I only just discovered investing 😢…. Hopefully I can still retire a little earlier 😅
Thanks a lot Debbie! I'm sure you'll be able to retire sooner, now that you know the power of investing. Thanks for watching.
Do you prefer ftse all world over the s&p500? I understand its more diversified, but the s&p is 60% of the all world if I’m right and if something did go wrong with the US market then surely there are much bigger problems at play
I like the S&P 500 because of how much it climbs, but for long term, I would stick with a good global index, not financial advice remember.
Definitely keep investing, it’s the only way to generational wealth for middle earners. Congrats on the semi retirement, enjoy your life bit your priorities may change as you get older.the no home ownership is concerning, are you really going to be renting in your 80s etc
Well said! I hope I live to my 80s!
Hey Jubiar,
I watch you videos now and then, this one deserves special credit, well done on your achievements and on your semi retirement.
Keep at it! I myself am also a massive stocks and shares investor / trader but all within the ISA platform 😊
Thank a ton! Best of luck with the investments
Inspirational, Jubair!! Extremely happy for you ✨💫
Thank you Hiba!
Well done Jubair. I would say you've achieved financial freedom aged 30 rather than being semi retired. Either way, I'd swap you.
Thanks a bunch! I guess everything is a mindstate, it helps sometimes to name it different things to make life easier to deal with. Not quite there yet with full financial freedom.
@@Dr.JubairsFinance We will get there 👍
hey dr can i have this life starting at 30 with a low paying job ?
Hey, I can't really say as I don't know your personal circumstances, it's always a lot to do with luck. I don't see why you can't be in a similar position if you start young!
1 million pounds in 30 years will be like 50k, everyone will be a millionaire.
Give me the lottery numbers please
You seem to know alot about Trading 212. Just a quick question.... is it worth keeping my cash as Hungarian Forint as its paying 7% right now.
Honestly, I can't give financial advice. But I still wouldn't try gaining in foreign currencies, unless you spend in that currency.
@@Dr.JubairsFinance Thanks, it seems that with free currency conversion with Revolut, it would be a no brainer, and I think the currency is quite cheap right now. However I am a complete NOOB. Thank for replying :-)
Well done Jubair, great inspiration
Thank you Manni!
there’s rumblings labour are going to cap the isas at 100 grand 😬
Noooo
pls no
Where did you live and where did you move to?
London until 30 and now moved to Scotland
@@Dr.JubairsFinance Glasgow or Edi?
Closer to Glasgow
Well done mate
Thanks Gohar!
Grats mate, earning 2,500 on 9500 subscribers sounds insane if all comes only from ad sense yt adverts. Keep it going, good luck
Not all from Adsense, but that would be a goal! Thanks
Congratulations & well done 👏🏼Happy to hear about your experience & thoughts. Great video💚
Thank you and I appreciate the comment!
A really interesting video. Am I correct in surmising that your parents were very frugal with pocket money, gifts etc? Was that what put you on this pathway?
Thank you, and nice highland cow btw. I grew up in a very deprived place in London, so there wasn't that much money, but people still thrived, I guess it gives a unique perspective because it's London, there's a lot of nice and rich rich there too.
Well done! You have a good head on your shoulders. Hope things work out well for you.
Thanks so much Stephen! I hope so with you too.
Well done Jubair! I like the fact you have spelled out all the sacrifices as well as the plus side. You have decided what's important and that's what you are focussed on. I agree food is always worth spending money on :-) keep going and good luck dude
Thanks so much Paul, it's always great to get positive comments like this!
well done! question, how much tax do you pay on your stocks and shares isa with trading 212 for exceeding the 20,000 annual limit? just something that I've been thinking about recently as I'm not too sure, thanks!
You can't deposit more than 20k in an ISA each tax year, otherwise I think it will be flagged by HMRC. Anything outside of ISA is taxed as on their website so you get £3k capital gains allowance and £500 dividends allowance and then taxed on your income.
I watched a video where you spoke about moving ISA from a previous year e.g. a fixed rate isa. Can you please let us know if we move that money, can we then buy shares with that money from previous year ?
Thanks and great video by the way !
I spoke about moving a stocks and shares ISA, never had a cash ISA. But if you move from a cash ISA to a stocks ISA, yes you can buy shares with that money. Thanks for watching!
I came on here to pick holes in your video and cry about privilege but I realised I was just jealous, because I don't like being told what to do and crave mental freedom. Good luck to you and I hope it all works out
Takes a lot to admit that, thank you and I wish you all the best
Congrats on Semi Retirement Jubair. I am jealous. Will keep investing and join you one day 👍
Thanks Alexander, no need to be jealous, it's not even unattainable, that's why I shared it
Invite me over for dinner sometime please.
Bro I'm confused, you spent all those years doing degrees so you could get ahead of the rest and achieve a high paying job, only to semi retire at 30?
Gave myself options, that's what I did. Skills are transferable to anything you do.
5k a month is crazy. Could you break that number down ?
About £600 - £800 from RUclips AdSense, the rest is from affiliates, but the income can dry up at any point!
@Dr.JubairsFinance you must have a massive rpm then I guess
@@Dr.JubairsFinance Which affiliates bring the most?
It's decent for sure, about £10
@@Dr.JubairsFinance I meant which companies!
Inspiring Jubair! Love that you have been able to achieve this goal. The sacrifice section was super eye opening, but I have a feeling you're gonna grow so much more that you won't even need to consider "sacrifices" soon haha.
p.s. the food pics looked so good.
Thanks so much Alex. I'm definitely lucky that my wife makes such great food. You're doing well too!
Congratulations on leaving the slave system, it's something everyone should be trying to do as soon as possible 👌🏻👍🏻🙌
Thanks Paul!
cant believe you gave up being a scientist to become a youtuber. hope it was worth it
You can't really give up being a scientist though can you
Always a good video dr and always learning from my side thanks a bunch 🙏 and well done 👍
Thanks Danny!
Very inspiring and thought provoking. I wish you well!
These comments mean a lot to me, thank you
You're 30? I thought you was 40+ this whole time.
Ur mad 😭
brilliant Jubair semi retired at 30 with no one telling what to do
Thanks Dean! The hard part is staying retired!
I’m 38 but I have had my personal struggles never too late as they say! I might not be a millionaire but I will set up all my investments for my little princess to live her best life when I am long gone.
Our children are definitely more important than us!
@@Dr.JubairsFinance I’ll see you in the next videooooooo! PS Don’t delete your video! Interested to know which companies you have invested in? Do you share your pie on T212? A video on that would be fab!
Inspirational and refreshing perspective
Thank you!
Congratulations!! That’s honestly amazing very inspirational
Thanks Ben, been seeing your portfolio updates, doing better than I was at that age!
@@Dr.JubairsFinance thank you! Really appreciate you watching
120k is great at 30 but it's only a small deposit for a house in London, it would eat all your money. Keep grinding and get to that million 💪
Not living in London anymore
@@Dr.JubairsFinance smart man, smart moves 👏

Way too early!

Already have one, managing fine
BeatTheBush released a Early Retirement 5 Year Recap video which is worth a watch.
Ohh haven't heard of him/her, will watch
@@Dr.JubairsFinance He is a American engineer.
Just checked out his channel, lots of subs!
rate you to be honest, great work
Thank you!
Very confusing, almost click-baiting title. You’re using the future value of your assets to say you’re semi-retired, while working and “fully” depending on that work for your monthly income. Anyone can do that and say they’re semi-retired today using the future value of their assets/stocks/pension. You’re semi-retired when you can only work part time and any additional income can come from your passive investments and assets, and after watching this video, you aren’t there yet. I get that you enjoy creating content and it doesn’t feel like a job but truth is you can’t afford not to cos your monthly income depends on it. I do however acknowledge that you have achieved a lot at 30 so kudos on that, but these clickbaiting titles aren’t it Dr Jubair
I work about 2 hours a day, and that's only when I feel like it. I would say that's not a full time job. But thank you for your comment.
@@Dr.JubairsFinance still not semi-retired. Does that mean any self-employed person can say they’re semi-retired? You cannot afford NOT to work, even if you say you enjoy creating content, you need to cause that’s where your monthly income comes from. Of course semi-retired at 30 does get more views!
Everybody on RUclips has clickbait titles, you still watched the video so it worked lol
@@yasminaziz8761 exactly that, click bait as not entirely true. Anyway. I would have watched it as I do his videos so it was pointless and the title as I said inaccurate/deceptive
Loved the video brother! Hopefully I can reach your level at the age of 30 lol🤞🏻
Hopefully even better than me!
@@Dr.JubairsFinance 😊
It’s called insurance 🤷♂️
What is?
@@Dr.JubairsFinance hi dr jubair home ownership you mention problems that arise with up keep. My household insurance is £195 annually
Finance youtubers make bank. Such a great niche to be in for the add revenue. Do you have a private pension as well? is it included in the 120k?
No private pension. Getting into a niche just for money rarely works out, and the revenue is never guaranteed. The 120k is just in shares.
Do you invest in housing?
As I mentioned in my video, I personally think it's immoral to profit off of housing, so no. No property investments.
@@Dr.JubairsFinance Don't disagree, but how do you feel about paying rent to pay for someone else's property? A conundrum for sure!! Inspirational video Jubair.. well done... 👍
I don't have an issue with paying for someone elses property, it's a choice they make to rent it out. Plus ownership is always a weird thing where nobody owns anything. I could discuss this forever and the ethics behind it haha.
Tax? Inflation?
But I'm retired now? How does inflation come into play now?
@@Dr.JubairsFinance I mean you haven't factored it into your investment growth.
Investments are supposed to grow past inflation. £9k in 30 years will still be worth thousands in today's money. Either way, I do think that working to achieve a higher income is always useful.
Great bhai
Thanks!!
Good luck come October ;)
Do you mean Halloween or Premium Bonds?
@@Dr.JubairsFinance I'm a tad concerned with October Budget and what it'll mean for people like us. Hearing rumours of an ISA cap at 100k and scared what it would mean. Any thoughts?
Even a 100k cap would probably be undone at some point for votes, so probably worth just depositing into ISAs until it's time to retire
@@Dr.JubairsFinance I'm close to the 100k already on my S&S ISA, so I guess I could look to max my partners, then focus on GIA accounts as I wouldn't pay until i sold and then hope Labour go back on the cap to win votes and or another Party get voted in and undo that cap. I really don't see why a CAP would be a smart idea, i know it'll generate TAX for them but it's sure way to pee off your voters but then again labour has always been for the poor person in my opinion.
They probably won't incorporate this ISA limit, it's all up in the air now and a lot is done for fear mongering
