Director Krennic is highly underrated. He's probably one of the most relatable villains in all of Star Wars. Sadly, he was not a politician and got outmaneuvered by people like Tarkin.

Grievous got sick ass backstory, it´s shame it stayed just in legends (if we don´t count that one line from clone wars). It was very good explanation for why he hated jedy so much.

Probably not since he only did what he did because he was getting paid to do it. For example, the Empire was paying him to do missions. But he would never do what he did if he didn't get paid for it because it just isn't in him. That's why you see him being a hero after Return of The Jedi because he knows that he would never actually do what he did.

My top five: 5. dooku 4. palpy 3. krennic 2. vader 1. tarkin to me, tarkin is actually the perfect star wars villian and for good reason. he is methodical and does not hold back on anything. he also seems genuinely insane and psychopathic to some degree. and his appearance is formal and clean, like a villian should be. overall, his demeanor coupled with his ways and personality... as well as just the fact that hes capable of commanding darth vader like a total badass.. is perfect in my eyes and I really wish they would make a story regarding him prior to the clone wars and then showcasing his rise to becoming an officer in the clone war, and then transitioning to the galactic civil war to become the grand moff of the first death star.
Darth Vader is easily the greatest villain. I understand your reasoning behind picking Palpatine, but… no. Vader is unequivocally the best. Palpatine is cunning and very evil, but not nearly as intimidating or badass as Vader. Palpatine sits in a chair for the first two movies, melts his own face off in his first fight, kills a bunch of Jedi by saying three words, sits in a chair for another two movies, and gets betrayed by Vader. The end (I also do not acknowledge episode 9 as canon). Vader does all his dirty work, killing the young kings, killing the Separatists, hunting down Jedi… basically killing everyone. And he’s just cooler.
Seriously? There is no way Ren and Sux should be so high on this list. I don't care how many people died when Sux was in control. Anyone can sit back and essentially push a button. Dooku, Grievous, and Maul were far better. It might have been different if TLJ hadn't completely ruined and ignored the character arcs they had started in TFA. Great starts, but they both became weak, laughable Beta males. Ren was a whiny little brat who didn't inspire fear in anyone after TFA. I think we were kept in the dark (no pun intended) about Dooku because of the secretive nature of the prequels. The same goes for Maul. Had they received more screen time, they both would've been much higher.
