Have we forgotten that Jack Perry was playing the role of a total chicken shit heel before he was suspended by Tony? Now he’s back and he still looks the same yet we’re supposed to take him seriously as some kind of tough guy?
Because he's with The Bucks, he has to pretend he's a tough guy just like they do.
The Bucks must have serious little man syndrome. They play against their type so bad
You're supposed to buy it because they tell you to. That's how everything works over there. Everything "just is." It's dumb.
Why would the fans see him as a tough guy when AEW themselves showed footage of him being bitched out by Punk in short order? Its the most bizarre booking and its weird the AEW/Buck fans think that made Jack Perry a star when the small amount of average fans they have left look at him as a joke
Jungle Jackoff will NEVER be a tough guy. No one believes he is anything but a douchebag. The trampoline cowboys are HORRIBLE and need to be off tv permanently.
Wednesday: Daniels is taking Khan's place as the babyface authority figure.
Saturday: Tony is on screen booking matches.
Conclusion: Tony doesn't want to take bumps.
At least not wrestling bumps

Okada's luster was killed off the second the Bucks stood beside him.
Tony Khan made Okada a lackey for the Bucks…
Imagine that.

Of note, the whole Chris Daniels as EVP thing is already buried, Rodrick Strong walked right past him to talk to Tony about getting a title shot on Collision, it didn’t even last a week.
😂😂the writing is crazy

You don't want to see how they test out their windshields.
This segment is why this Elite storyline doesn't work. Tony can easily override any decision they make, meaning they're a non-threat. They wanted to put the TNT title on Jack Perry but Tony instead created a tournament. So from a storyline perspective, why would anyone be worried about The Bucks?
It’s also hard to see Tony as anything but a mark nerd lol. I think people look at vince and think it’s the same thing; but I can legitimately see vince being this insane person who would rather fight one of his stars than fire them and lose money lol. Tony isn’t like that in any way, he feared for his life by punk pointing at him backstage and the bucks aren’t anything like austin, orton, or in any way either intimidating or ratings movers. That’s why it’s so bad in my opinion. Plus Tony loves those guys in and out of storyline so why would they attack him? It’s clear it’s all just to setup an eventual match with okada and an injured Kenny omega and it sucks
It might be because of the intimidating physical presence the Middle-Aged Bucks have.....pfffffftttt...... sorry, I couldn't say that with a straight face. 😂
Christopher Pearce-Daniels was made interim EVP for Tony Khan, giving AEW an actual person in charge on screen. THEN ONLY A COUPLE DAYS LATER, Roderick Strong craps all over Adam Daniels by walking straight to Tony Khan to ask for a match 😂😂

Okada must think he's entered the twilight zone since starting in AEW. Poor guy will end up with PTSD having to cope with Tony's madcap booking.

Christopher Daniels deserves better
He's definitely "fallen" now...
2002-2010 was one of the best x division / Indy workers in the US of A. Was in the early days of ROH and TNA he was the one that helped create stars.
Now in AEW he is a stooge office guy. For shame. Daniels probably could beat the elite in a gauntlet match but end up losing to Okada at the end.
*DAMN*
He's best buds with the Bucks. So no, he doesn't.
@@Cruising_On_Lake_Havasoma just like 80% that is employed there. He took the job and doesn't care about the quality of the tv product.
He finally got to be the "Higher Power" but it's in AEW and he really has no power.
Travis should draw Tony as the crybaby meme guy from the The Good Doctor screaming "I AM A BOOKER!!"
"I am a Booker, Mr. Cornette! I am..I AM A BOOKER!"
I just saw the show behind that meme and I hate you for getting me to laugh at that! 😂
The fans chanting "you deserve it!" after Okada was given the car is one of the most embarrassing moments I've ever seen in pro wrestling. You could not have any stronger proof that Okada is never going to work as a heel. He should have chose WWE.
But WWE didn’t offer an amount close to Roman Reigns’ level. As “the” premier wrestling talent in Japan why would he sign if it’s not close to WWE’s top tier talents’ contract. It’s WWE’s fault for not outbidding AEW for Okada’s signature and offering a booking plan that would favor Okada schedule wise. Tony offered Okada a near Reigns level amount contract, WWE didn’t counter offer, and the rest is history.
@@sigmablock I agree, I think if WWE really wanted him, they could have at least offered a better compromise for his schedule and an good contract.
JD McDonough feels more important than Okada right now.
Bro destroyed strowman with a chair 😂 he's been great recently
As a NJPW fan Okada was phenomenal in that company. He was a heel with an attitude that became a babyface with an attitude because fans liked him so much. In AEW, he just seems like he’s just there. I dunno if it’s Tony doesn’t know how to book him or the Elite stuff is dragging him down or what it is, but he just feels unimportant in my opinion. Okada in NJPW is very different to how he is in AEW
What's worse a veteran wrestler taking it easy and going with the flow or a veteran wrestler pushing it harder and going in and out from injuries??
@@romelmunoz7957Two extremes with Cope and Okada. Cope does everything and has 12 minute matches with Lee Moriarty while Okada doesn't do shit and looks lazy. One needs to turn it down a notch and one needs to crank it up a bit t
Okada bumping less for Roman Reigns-esque amounts of money. Who wouldn’t take such an offer? Okada thinking like Lesnar here to his credit.
@@sigmablock I am not knocking Okada. Just seems sad a guy as talented as he is being wasted doing this stuff in AEW. Surely there is a balance between safe sustainable wrestling and being entertaining. Look at guys like Cody and Drew. Super entertaining and over without any of the crazy stuff the others do in AEW.
@@yugiackermanuchiha7061 I am not implying what you’re implying from my previous comment. TK outbid Hunter and Nick Khan while the latter didn’t make a pitch worthy of Okada’s energy. They could’ve given him what’s currently the Logan Paul style booking or previously the Brock Lesnar 2014 to 2023 style booking for Okada, and it may not have been the case it seems on WWE’s attempt to sign Okada.
Wait till Jim sees the segment with Tony making an announcement RIGHT ALONGSIDE CHRIS DANIELS LOL. HE WAS ON THE SHOW THE VERY NEXT WEEK

At this stage going to Aew is career suicide. For the indie talents that doesn't matter they'll make more money than they'll in a lifetime but for established stars like Jericho and Danielson its pissing on their legacy.
Adam Copeland was diminished. Got paid tho.
But everyone is having "FUN" and doesn't have to do the Grind Bruv! The really sad part is they are still going to put the TNT title on Charisma Vaccum Perry.
@@maitreyas.4902and all he had to do was break his leg to get a nice fat paid time off medical leave hopefully tony’ll ghost and pay him like any other toy Tony’s done playing with and is under the bed
I'd argue the opposite. What does Daniels have to offer WWE either behind or in front of the curtain? Jericho would *certainly* have been put out to pasture by WWE by now. For these vets skimming the Money Mark for a couple last years of paycheques is the way to go.
As for the indie talents, they simply have no where else to go. Nearly everyone in NXT who is worth talking about came straight out of the college athlete recruitment program. WWE can afford to completely ignore the indies and still have a stacked roster for decades to come. If some kid wanted to get into WWE now they'd be much better off, in several ways, going to *actual* school than Wrestling School.
I’m not so sure on Danielson’s legacy as tarnished just yet. Maybe he’s taking the humble Mark Henry approach and besides, Danielson’s wishlist was to wrestle NJPW talent, something WWE couldn’t offer in 2021.
For Jericho, yes I agree. The constant weird booking does put the tail end of his legacy in a negative light.
I cant even be mad at O'Cody. The dude built a reputation as the man in Japan, even though he really was the dance partner. Dude made sporadic appearances for AEW and always showed his disdain by wearing Sweats and t-shirts.Then moves full time to the states to work super part time and sleepwalk his way to millions of dollars.
If he wasn't buddies with The Bucks I'd find him endearing as a lazy pos like myself.
The o
I don't think he was the dance partner, at least not all the time, maybe with Tana or Naka, yes.
Of all people Okada could've befriended, he actually got close with young bucks in tna. He brought them to bullet club
@@JaculaDudekthen it makes a lot of sense: he opened them the New Japan door and for a payback years later WHAT A PAYBACK HOLLY SHIT!!
So the EVPs fired a guy and put a title on one of their guys but the guy who got fired came back bc Tony said so and there is a tournament thingy for the belt bc Tony said so. So basically Tony overrules the EVPs which means the EVPs a total non-threat. The EVPs suspended in kayfabe Hangnail for attacking a ref but the allmighty boss Tony didn't suspend the EVPs after they attacked him. So literally nothing makes sense about all of this.
-War- AEW. -War- AEW never changes.
I hope the several millions of dollars was worth it for Okada, cuz his career is pretty much in the toilet at this point.
I'm sure it is to him. He knew what he was getting into when he signed with AEW.
Just like Nakamura his career is dead
He's champion and having fun. Meanwhile in wwe Shinsuke is the class clown of the show taking L after L
@@jordanfletcher3726you have a good point: for Okada is the frustration of him being with The Young Bucks, for Nakamura is just a "oh God is he again, why!?"...
How exactly?he's a champion and having decent to great matches from time to time.I agree that he's past his best days but his career is far from over
Hunter really dodged a bullet missing out on Okada and Oceanspray.
Imo it’s still WWEs loss.
1. Okada - a multiple time IWGP Heavyweight Championship, the longest reigning in recent memory, multi time main eventer, one of the most decorated and well awared wrestlers in Japan. WWE doesn’t offer an amount similar to Reigns, star power wise. Tony Khan did make the better offer, WWE didn’t counter offer. Fault is on WWE. They can live w/o Okada I get it, but WWE could’ve made Okada interesting in booking him exhibition dream matches i.e. vs Cena with proper storytelling.
2. Will Ospreay - Multiple time IWGP Heavyweight/World Champion, one of the most gifted gaijin/foreigner wrestlers to be at the top of the Japanese Pro Wrestling scene, had some of the best matches over there. Didn’t offer him a contract and booking plan similar to AJ Styles. They could’ve convinced him that he would be elevated similar to Styles as a “from NJPW to WWE” signing, but no insider reports have made such mention so it’s assumed WWE made no such pitch, so Ospreay ended up in AEW for continuity. We could’ve had for starters Ospreay vs Gunther or down the line Ospreay vs Rhodes, but never gonna happen.
It’s armcharing trying to be Hunter and Nick Khan with my comment, but tbh imo, would’ve made a lot a sense.
Did you cry while typing all that out? 😂😂
@@TheMM1215 i didn’t, just stated a long opinion.
@@sigmablock I think at least they could have tried harder to get Okada, AEW was a much better fit for Ospreay and his style imo. I think Okada could have fit in and worked well in WWE style tbh.
This NWO fan remake is super embarrassing
I think you've actually nailed it without realizing it. Not just this angle, but all of AEW feels like a fan film of wrestling...which it is.
i love this artwork from travis heckel jim cornette as joker and ocody as batman
Let's just applaud Savior Tony for fuckin up Okada's mystique 👏👏👏
AEW took an absolute megastar from Japan and turned him into a random dude.
WWE took a random dude from Japan and turned him into an absolute megastar.
Amazing.
who?
@@jenkind1i think this person is referring to Tama Tonga
Mega star is really a stretch...
Just wait for Jaco Fatu's debut and then see the difference.
Are you talking about Nakamura? Because he was a HUGE DEAL in Japan. At least Okada's equivalent if not *more* of a star.
Not arguing the point that AEW has, predictably, destroyed Okada.
@@romelmunoz7957 A little bit of a stretch for sure. Okada in Japan was bigger than Tama now, but it's still shocking to think how Tama feels like a bigger deal than Okada now lol.
Copying wwe again by making daniels a rip off Pearce authority figure
I blacked out for a second and was waiting for somebody from Okada's past to come out of the Lamborghini.
The craziest part about this segment is that The Elite giving Jungle Soy the TNT title actually would’ve made their win at DON meaningful, and put nuclear heat on Perry.
But no instead of that, Temu Adam Pierce announces yet another tournament. Great 🛎
O cody another victim of the snowmans booking lmao
O Cody was hilarious. I really enjoyed this segment.
I was seeing a lot of positive feedback about Okada being funny and charming in this promo.
Honestly surprised they didn’t mention the CM Punk chants at the beginning of this segment
This was stupid, and we already saw on Rampage just how much power Scrap Daddy at Home really has. Everyone kept saying Christopher Daniel looked like Adam Pearce, and it's hard to not see it. But hey he finally get to be the "Higher Power" after all these years. The same part is I think they'll still give Charisma Vaccum Perry the TNT title in the tournament anyway.
You guys missed the joke. This segment was great!
They should put okada in his Lamborghini in a tag match with the PLUMBER and a 67 Chevy😮
The Joker riding around in Lockdown is sweet.🤘
The funny thing about this is Daniels looks like Adam Pearce!
Jim's description of the fans chanting "you deserve it" is exactly the problem with modern wrestling fans...things are so meta now that they've lost the plot. Okada isn't a heel gimmick or a character, he's just the guy that had those good matches on New Japan years ago.
Agree on all points except one.
He is the one who got the high star ratings. Regarding those "good" matches, consider the source who described the match to you
Matt Jackson is like Stephanie McMahon in 2014. It's just impossible to watch
Except Matt is slightly less masculine than Stephanie.
And he tried wearing Vince’s moustache too. He looked like Vince shit on him.

A _scale model_ bootleg Adam Pearce.
Tiny loves Toni Storm's gimmick so much, he wanted his own Luther. CD was probably the first bald guy without a beard who stumbled into his line of vision after he had the idea - and he's almost the same age as Luther. Boy Wonder's ack-teeng with Roddy Strong was just... _*chef's kiss!_ He's like a 41-year-old bad prepubescent child actor. Apparently you just have to yell at Tiny what you want and he just gives it to you.
The "CM Punk" chants made me grin like a madman. Inglewood was up to no good. Lovely!
people still chant for okada
Loved the Aqualung reference!
Hey, whatever happens to ibushi?
Injured for a long time still I believe
He was injured for along time and refused treatment and then got extra hurt Wrestling at a big event in Japan in January where he could barely walk backstage
Wrecked shoulder, broken hand, broken foot/ankle, jump to the outside onto opponent on the arena floor, _two_ broken feet/ankles. Then, when the post-match "pride and honour" nonsense was over, he limped away and literally crawled back up the steps of the entrance stage on all fours and out of sight like a dying wounded animal. Ambulance ride to the hospital. Hasn't been seen or heard from since, I believe. That's what happened to him.
For those who don't know what went down, the match is on RUclips. Half an hour of awfulness at the "NOAH The New Year 2024", 02 January 2024, in Tokyo. Ibuchi vs. Marufuji is now talked about as possibly the worst main event match in the history of Japanese pro wrestling.
Again: Ibuchi already came to the ring with a wrecked shoulder, a broken hand, and on a broken foot. For a half-hour main event match in Japan... Something is definitely not right with that guy, mentally. Apparently, he has some huge neurotic/phobic/conspiracy theorist thing going on in his head about "evil conventional medicine" - and refuses orthodox medical treatments in favour of "alternative" quackery, snake oil, and... I don't know... thoughts and prayers? The result of that approach so far is that he turned himself into a complete physical wreck. It's just sad, really.
All this FREE BOOKING advise and they dont take of advantage is crazy work
Wait wait wait… wasn’t he just acting surprised and silly on purpose ? Cause i laughed for the first time on a ocody segment
I like Okada's working NJPW, but that's probably why he's "phoning it in" in AEW. Japanese strong probably wrecked he body and AEW is the easy paycheck.
Ocody is still hilarious to me
"we are going to change the wrestling world by doing all the storylines that did not work in the 1990s, you know the ones WCW tried to get over to save that company."
So, we want to make Okody a Japanese Otis… interesting.
Lmao joker Cornette😂🤣
The Rock with blonde hair
Okada probably thinking at least I got Tony's money having to do this dumb shit. The Bucks have to latch onto someone for relevancy which has been a theme of their whole career if you really examine it. They were a flop in TNA, in NJPW they lucked out being in the foreigner heel group that got over which they had very little to do with then when Balor left for WWE they latched onto AJ and then onto Kenny when AJ left. They managed to leverage being in an over group in NJPW to do whatever they wanted in ROH and convince the internet marks they were a big deal
Okato? Remember that from TNA back in the day? Generation Me do!!
I shall press the LIKE BUTTON to show my gratitude for this wonderful free show
Okada is the only person in that group who could've passed for cool.
Okada vs Take should have been Okada's first program
Is that p Diddy as the joker in this artwork 😂
AEW could have booked Okada like he was the Roman Reigns of Japan. Instead they make him a flunky for the bucks. You could not make him mean less if you were trying to bury him.
I wish Jim would review the Collision segment with Roddy and Tony lmao
I haven't seen one person not in a Cornette forum dislike Okada in that promo
Also of all the things Jim makes fun of with AEW he didn't even mention Daniels getting the name of the show wrong. It's an old man yelling at the clouds
I've been saying this since Okada joined the Elite. The fans cheer for him even though he's a heel
For the love of god I need jim and Brian to review Alvarez’s rant about the eliminator match and Tony khan appearing on tv. I was pissing myself listening to it.
I Wonder if It's TheSame "FireWorkLambo", from RUclipsVids?
I feel like a good way to save Okada would be to have him end up being a mole who was infiltrating for team AEW & the good guys all along.
The "You Deserve it" chant means nothing anymore. Same as the "Holy Shit" chant. Anything can get that reaction now. It's no longer a genuine moment of acknowledgement between the fans and wrestlers.
I'm surprised they didn't hold a tournament for Christopher daniels' "new" position
They need a mini Nick Aldis for Rampage or whatever the other 10 shows are called
tony flosses his teeth with Pocket’s pubic hair
The Rib:
The License place is Cornette's Telephone number.
The CM Punk chant is like a curse, WWE wasn't able to get rid of it when Punk left and now it's in AEW
I legit saw the 3 midgets and looked it up only to realize they're all the size of WNBA guards like imagine telling FTR 5 years ago men that size would own them in the ring
Hey now, WNBA guards are at least 5’6”!!
Those three need to pull a Vincent Adultman plus wear Kevin Dunn’s shoe lifts to get to that height.
5:53 - 6:02 did Jim Cornette just quote Aqualung?
I can see jim smirking through the screen after Brian slipped on O'Cody.😅😅😅
And this is why he, Ibushi, Nakamura and a few others go to US after their prime when they built a succesful career in Japan and just want to earn more in America. Takeshita could be in NJPW right now working if wasn't for the problems between New Japan and DDT.
How many times are the bucks and Kenny going to go through relationship issues
Jim said it best, Tony aims his product for die hard smart mark AEW fans and having Daniel’s Vs the Dull Bucks. The smart marks all know they are best pals behind the camera so why put Daniels against the Bucks it makes no sense, Tony Klown 101 Booking
Okada needs a translator who screws him over by betting on his matches. Basically, what Shohei Ohtani is dealing with.
Man, Cornette acknowledging Okada as that “Japanese James Bond looking Motherfucker” is all I needed to be sold on the idea of Okada winning more titles in AEW.
We haven’t had a wrestler like Steamboat in a long time and I doubt that magic in this era will work or if Tony and Bushiroad can come to terms to push Okada who is a natural face for most if not all promotions as he is naturally athletic, doesn’t look like he takes roids and garbed in the most expensive looking tailored suits the fans wish they could ever wear. A natural gifted athlete.
Still I am enjoying Okada’s heel run because he’s been a pure baby face in New Japan for decades. It’s why people remember the Rainmaker. Anything heel he does is already turnt up to 11.
_Nobody does it better._
christopher daniels Is literally 8 years older and 20 pounds lighter than Adam Pearce.
So WWE does King and Queen get title shots, AEW the next day announces Owen Hart winners get title shots. WWE does bar codes for Bray/Howdy, AEW does bar codes to meet an equally scary Mercedes. WWE does qualifying matches and a ladder match for their new NXT women’s title, AEW follows that announcement with qualifiers and a ladder match for the vacant TBS title: 🙄🙄
Idk if you guys watch Collision, but they literally had a segment showing Tony Khan in the back perfectly fine in Gorilla... which made this who segment and storyline pointless 😂
Then three days after Christopher Daniels role was a moot point because Tony gifted Roderick Strong a Title Match with Swerve.
And this Elite Storyline makes no sense at all, it's not working at all.
With Okada it shows that NJPW and WWE as well are masters at presenting wrestlers and knowing how to use them. Okada and even Omega looked like absolute stars in NJPW and look like nothing now, convinced AEW could take prime Ric Flair and make him look like a tax accountant.
So Tony put Daniels as the interim EVP only for him to later make him an absolute meaningless character in the backstage segment on Collision where Strong went backstage and Tony was there with Daniels, and gave him a world title shot out of nowhere.
This man cracks me up funny as fuck 😂😂😂😂
THE BUNG YUCKS ARE CANCERS IN PRO WRESTLING...And FINALLY...Even their Die Hard fans are turning on them.
People saying Tony Khan can drive like its a big deal, monkeys drive scooters bears drives bikes and squirrels water ski. Its not that far of a stretch that a pip squeak can drive an suv.
Every tournament in AEW. The finals are always a ladder match.
Hey Aqualung!
