A Madeline is a cake shaped like a cookie. It has the texture of cake and when you make them they are mixed more like cake batter than cookie batter. I love them so much. Not really a maison margela fan but almond croissant vibes is intriguing.

@@sophiamlarson no, I don’t. I get a light gourmand. I smell the vanilla, whipped cream, Madeleine, sandalwood, and a hit of musk but all of the notes are light. I know if you let it sit(macerated) anything with vanilla will get a little stronger. I love it tho❤

Madeleine is like a buttery cookie, that you bake in a form reminiscent of a shell. It is especially delicious dipped in hot or warm tea. I make my version with almond flour, sometimes adding pistachio or choc chip

I liked it a lot. Not a love but I will be wearing it. I might layer it with blue Madeleine. My you had to let the perfume sit for a day after traveling in hot weather.
I really like this fragrance. I’m not an expert in fragrance by any means but I do get a vanilla powdery note. It kind of reminds me of cheirosa 40 but in a more deeper vanilla. I just wish it was a little bit stronger. Thank you for your review😊
A madeleine is a small butter cake. Most think it’s a cookie so they’re disappointed in this fragrance because they don’t get the cookie smell that they expected. I get a strong madeleine, sandalwood scent on my skin, and weirdly enough, a slight espresso scent.
I’m so surprised-was waiting for the barrage of how “amazing/must have” this scent is and you’re the second reviewer that panned this.
Appreciate your honesty in your review. I am testing Blue Madeleine but there is something in that fragrance that is synthetic and unpleasant to my nose.

I am so disappointed by Afternoon Delight .. I kind of hate it 😬 the first spray is so sour milk and then smells exactly like a Crumbl Cookie store to me. It is slightly better on the dry down but I agree there’s just something that is not great.

I always lie the idea of the Maison Margiela scents, but I find all of them --screechy! That is the perfect word. I almost bought the Beachy one, the lemon one, the rain one and they all have a note that I really don't like.
I may get a travel size, but cake/vanilla scent in EDT formulation will most likely disappoint me for this simple reason. I shall try it first 😊 I have too many on my wishlist, kinda happy that it is a flop 😀
I have heard mixed reviews. I know Sebastián really likes this one. Do you like "sunscreen " scents or are you opposed? I love sunscreen scents and I know he does too...But I dont know of any notes that should evoke that here... except the creaminess.... I also know there is a lot of lactonic nature to this one...The creaminess in this one is the sandalwood. I am so confused now! I guess i will def have to test first!!!
I was excited to get this but very disappointed when I wore it. I wasn’t a fan of the opening. It was so light, definitely skin to nose light on me. In the deep dry down it was more pleasant but way too light for the price. Absolutely no projection.

I have some almond and pistachio extract for baking. It can smell very synthetic and sharp, I can imagine that is what your smelling here 😂
I got mine yesterday and it doesn’t smell gourmand at all it smells like a really strong powdery perfume my daughter said it smelled like a grandma :( so disappointing
