People expected this to be like every other gourmand scent they're used to. This is exactly what I would expect a MAISON MARGIELA REPLICA gourmand scent to smell like. They are not loud overly projecting fragrances. The longer it was on my skin, the better it smelled. It's not for everyone but it's definitely for me. I dont consider myself a gourmand girly but i truly enjoy this. It's an intimate scent to me, not strong to my nose!
Literally got this one in the mail directly after watching this! So in love initially. To me it’s giving blonde Oreos, whipped cream, angel food cake, and white chocolate macadamia nut cookies. OBSESSED.
I went straight over to Maison Margiela to get the Parfum notes for this new Afternoon Delight In the top note: Bitter Almond essence, Angelica roots essence Mid: Madeleine Accord, Carrot heart, And Absolu Ambrette . Base notes: Heart of New Caledonia Sandalwood and infusion of premium Madagascar Vanilla pod . I should add, that my full bottle arrived today and I enjoyed it ! While I was outside, the heat out there over my skin made the beautiful vanilla pod scent stand out more ,it truly reminds me that of an actual vanilla pod essence and I’m familiar with vanilla pod , very nice balance here.
I got mine yesterday and I LOVE it!!! I saw another review where they picked up a sunscreen note and a 'weird' almond note???!!! The reviewer didn't like it at all and gave it a 3 out of ten! I couldn't have disagreed more with that review and 100% agree with you on this one! If I could disagree with anything you thought about this one is I don't find it SO sweet that I would feel the need to be mindful of it's strength or how much I spray( I know ur mom was a big influence in your thoughts on that). This one was a huge blind buy success for me!

I wanted to love the Elise Brooklyn "Vanilla milk" but it smells like straight up like milk vomit/spit up or spoiled milk. I like commodity milk and B&BW Milk too. B&BW Bonfire bash and vanilla romance both smell like commodity milk. Anymore milky fragrance suggestions are welcome!! I'd love another video dedicated to milky/lactonic perfume and sprays ON A BUDGET 😂🥺🙏🏽🎀
I also hated vanilla milk from Elis Brooklyn for the exact same reason as you, milky scents can be hit or miss but this one is just so perfect in my opinion, nothing about it smells off to me🙏🙌🏻

This sounds lovely! I love all kinds of perfumes. As far as sweet/gourmand, I personally don't mind smelling "exactly like food" (in fact, I love that!) and I also like balanced versions too. The way you're describing this is somewhat similar to how you described boardwalk delight in terms of airy and balanced 🙂
I got this yesterday. And I hate it. I’m so disappointed! I love gourmands. This is more woody. And I don’t get a Madelaine note at all. I was hoping for a lactonic, fluffy vanilla cookie. But it’s more of a masculine, woody fragrance
I think Jazz Club is amazing just haven’t gotten around to actually buying it since I feel like I have a good amount of that scent profile in my collection currently but maybe a future buy🤔

I saw the comment where someone compared it to Kayali's YUM, where the actual scent differs from the description, and I had to tell u what my husband said. Back when YUM was first released, I was so excited because I LOVE pistachio, and was talking about it nonstop. So, he bought me a travel size and u can guess what came next.😂 I went from hyping it up nonstop to whining about it nonstop. I was so unhappy that I felt I could smell no pistachio at all. I felt like I had been punked!😅 Now, my husband said he thinks I had PTSD from it cuz I wouldn't stop talking about how sad I was. He was being silly of course, but that experience does make me more leary of blind buying. FYI: I'm so glad I kept my little bottle of YUM because once I actually started enjoying it for what it was, and not what I expected it to be, it's a favorite now. I get no cookies, no whipped cream, no lemon, so vanilla. It smells like croissants, evaporated milk (NOT sweetened condensed milk) and a chemically smell like Sharpie markers. I can see wearing this with other sweet perfumes like Heavy Cream by Phlur or Vanilla 28.
I love gourmands and Replica. But this seems a bit of a cash grab, which…fair for a for profit company. 😂 But this doesn’t seem like their other experience based fragrances. It just seems like a straight gourmand for the sake of being gourmand.

The sandalwood is the most prominent note in my opinion making this NOT a gourmand. People interpret smells differently but I think the marketing was very misleading on this one.
She can be a gourmand lover without having a scent be sickly sweet. It can be off putting to smell like a candle. I like sweet or gourmand scents but done well and niche taste. Sometimes designer scents can come off juvenile.
Oud Ambrosie by Lancome is a gourmand fragrance. A very prominent honey note balanced with oud. It does not smell like realistic food. I think the definition of a gourmand fragrance is what has u confused. Look it up. Hope this helps...
I love gourmands and bought this when it came out at sephora. Hard no. It's a musky woody condensed milk, similar to Milk by Commodity. Not yummy smelling at all.

I just received this today and I love it. I was a little scared, because the first spray i smelled a rubbery smell that reminded me of caramel skin by phlur but that went away in the dry down. I wonder if my bottle was just a little bit warm from shipping. I’m going to be wearing this all fall and winter.❤🍪🍦🧁❤️🔥

Gourmand fragrances can just have gourmand notes. They don't have to straight up smell like a bakery. Angel is considered a Gourmand.
