You can actually kill him. Collect that single yellow eco and dive hard into the water after you make him follow you nearby then jump kick him while you hold the power up. I remember specifically knocking him out. He didn’t respawn again for a long long long time. Not until a new game file was made. ;)
This game laid the foundation for open world feel in games. When you could look into the distance and see the other areas you had previously explored, and areas you had yet to explore. The game included a world map poster and it really feel like an unforgettable adventure when I was a kid
You're totally right :) that feeling of freedom (apart from swimming in the sea lol) is great, love this game. Had a look in my jak and Daxter box and was shocked to find I still have the map, I miss games coming with manuals and stuff like that!
Yeah, Naughty Dog was always on the top of the world in terms of technological innovation, and they should deserve more praise. It is kind of ironic how the Jak series had to change because of games like GTA3, yet Jak 2 (or hell even the first Jak) showed a way more impressive open world.
the fact that the game is objectively revolutionary feeling full of adventure in a nice open world AND its been the first and defining gaming experience of so many children is magnificent . truly a game to remember in art history
Yeah... They did something special with the jak series, making a world unique yet familiar in a strange way, the whole Eco concept is so awesome too. All the different areas are themed and scored so well and differently from one another. Enjoying this ambience makes me realize just how contempt i would be if i could just visit that world, even if its only for 1 day.

No problem, I felt I needed to after re-listening to Sentinel beach and Rock village. Nostalgia just flooded in and I wanted to share these amazing tracks. Also Jak and Daxter holds a special place in my heart too ❤
Highkey wish Boggy Swamp made it into this mix, there’s a pier near the back end of the level and it’s so cool to look out onto the waters of it. Always found it relaxing. Absolutely love this though! Would love to see this done to games like Dark Cloud 2! Hope to see more of these kinds of mixes from you! So good :”)
Really love how you haven't just used screenshots of the areas tied to the music, but proper footage. Thanks a lot for doing that. Also, there's a real lovely charm to how Daxter's just standing there on Jak's shoulder leaning gently on his big spiky head of hair like that. Just shows such a humble contentment and proper loving friendship 😊🥰
I played this game when I was just in primary school. My first console before I got Xbox. I played this and Ratchet and Clank. 10/10 would listen to again
父に初めて買ってもらった最高のゲーム 小さなディスクの中には広大な世界と冒険と僕の思い出が詰まっている🌍 The best game my father bought me for the first time A small disc is filled with a vast world, adventures and my memories🌍
Rock Village sounds so different in HD! There's a kalimba type sound that sticks out so differently that I had to go double check the game on my OG PS2 to confirm I wasn't just hearing it different.
because they oput money and efford in the games. Just look at OpenGOAL, this shows how awesome the graphic was, and how much the PS2 hold it back. With HD Textures, it looks like the Graphics of the Reignited Trilogy from Spyro, but without beeing recreated :D
Thank you so much for making this. I really like the music in Jak and Daxter, but listening to extended versions of the whole soundtrack or a regular playlist of the soundtrack never quite worked for me. And with all the work I do from home now, I always need more and more music to zone out to. So this has been a perfect addition to my play-list.
finding this really just makes me so happy right now. this was a big big part of my childhood but i havent checked the game and its aesthetic for way too many years now.. so much stuff happened and i almost lost this soundtrack.. dang it makes me tear up a little right now... life was so different.. and then u even only put the ambient ones together in a mix.. dude i love you for this for real thank you so much from the bottom of my heart
that tiny snippet of the fisherman guy laughing at the end of Forbidden Jungle made my ears perk up LOL that sound is burned into my brain. he laughs SO MUCH
Its surprising just how much you miss in the games when your constantly move, I know the music pretty well but there are parts of the music I never even heard of from the game like parts of volcanic crater or rock village v2. Or even the daxter animation would be missed if you weren't sitting still, the only one I knew was their acrobatic act in the 1st game, the rest is pretty new to me
all games have this but incase no one noticed, games have draw distence (models look lower qaulity when further away) since the player wouldnt notice or see it up close, how games optimize it. 1:32:34 look at the flying cars drive past Jak on the right side, look closer and can see the models change from high quality to low quality when driving fruther away. thought id sneak this in since i find it interesting how games work.
Mountain Temple is my favorite area in Jak 2, maybe even in the whole series. It's so calm and refreshing compared to Haven City. Additionally, the music uses instruments similar to the previous game. It's like the game wants you to feel nostalgia for old times that will never come back.
My favourite game series. Replayed them all recently and as much as I prefer the gameplay of 2 and 3, I appreciate the effort that went into all the different environments in precursor legacy all the variety and colours.
TBH I LIKE THE FORBIDDEN FORSET bc like it has that beat to it oh and btw like the relaxing music even RATCHET and clank--not crazy but i listen to this when am reading or someting else
i love this game and it is one of my favorites of all time. but what a left turn going from jak 1 to jak 2 is. just changing from a fun island game to a gritty city game. its ballys to make that jump but it paid off. i dont think any of the franchises that are similar to it like rachet and clank, spyro, or crash did anything like that before.
I love this game and it's sequels! Can't really say anything good about TLF though. I just pretend that one doesn't exist, lol. Daxter was pretty good though despite not being Naughty Dog.
jak 3 was too depressing. i mean the visuals and level variety was awesome and it had cool characters to boot.. but damn, the music and general atmosphere they were going for was a downer.

A gaming pinnacle right here… I’ll never forget the nightmares from the heartbeats I heard of that fish that ate you if you swam off the map
Haha yeah the panic is real trying to swim to safety
OMG I'LL NEVER FORGET TOO plus that used to happen on Ratchet and Clank too
OH MY GOODNESS I remember that TOO SCARY! OH MAN GOOD MEMORIES

I think DarkSouls build a lot on this

I swear Sentinel Beach sounds like a deep breath on a sunny day. Just... Perfect.
I agree, this song just hits right :)
The nostalgia from this game makes me want to cry man, the good old days❤❤❤

same here. so many good memories, including this special game.
I've been on a nostalgia OST trip lately. This series, Ratchet & Clank, and Sly Cooper all just slap so hard.

I love Jak and Daxter me and my twin Sister still play it to this day on ps3 we love to just stay still and listen to the Music
Haven Exploration is my favourite sound track. Its so dramatic and sad. Really sets the mood for the city. Depressing vibe.

Thank you for making this--I recall playing Jak 1, 2, and 3 back in the 2000s and I've found that I am nostalgic for them lately.
So glad I was able to find a video like this. Takes me back to a happier point in my life.
Ahhhh my childhood-I still do a play though for this game once a year.
Jak & Daxter was the first game I ever played on the PS2. The series holds a very special place in my soul! Thanks for the upload! 🙏

Cool video, great music, so relaxing :)
thanks for the nostalgia trip 💞
Jak and Daxter, Final Fantasy X, Kingdom Hearts defined me as a kid who got a PS2 for Christmas in 2000. Pretty sure I was 6 years old.
great content. I just loved to play Jak and Dexter 2 & 3 :D
This is the best music that works for me to not procrastinate and think clear! Thanks a lot! Regards from México
What a great compilation! This must have taken forever. :)
If I won the lottery, I would make sure that we all get a second Jak trilogy

Snowy Mountain is still goated. Surprisingly though the most comfortable area is Rock Village
I have not play any of the Jak game. Yet FUCK man
Every track IS NOSTALGIA. I don't know why
Beautiful!
One of the best games ever
this is a perfect game, wish i could play it on pc like i did on the ps2 as a kid.
This game... Brings tears to a man's eyes I still have my jak and Daxter collection from the ps2, ps3, and ps4 🥲
Thanks, this will definitely help me sleep
so grateful for this
Wow amazing
that random dialogue at haven exploration caught me off guard.
Omg I love jack and daxter 😂😂😂
THE GREATEST GAME OF ALL TIME!! AND THAT IS A HILL IM WILLING TO DIE ON!!
Wished Haven Forest/Sewer theme from Jak 3 made it into this but nice
A game where it felt like even after you turned it off the world kept turning
It really helps that Open Goal now has an option to play with real time clock.
Oh hell yeah
My childhood
If you love this game, I love you.
Love it also can you play Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 its my favorite game love your videos keep up the good work.
I love this game and it's sequels! Can't really say anything good about TLF though. I just pretend that one doesn't exist, lol. Daxter was pretty good though despite not being Naughty Dog.
Make one of just jak 2 and 3!
Why do these tracks sound so different from the music in my copy of Jak 1?
i played this game on a psvita
