Thank you for the walk down memory lane, not much has changed, except the railing put up & a concrete path along the river front. We also had a smaller ship which could dock at the port. We shared a taxi & went on an island tour & caught a water taxi back. The people work very hard & are very cheerful.
Thank you so much for these videos. I'm going on a cruise to some of the same ports in a few weeks and your videos are so helpful in helping me know what to plan. And oh my goodness - love seeing the two of you joke and have fun together - couple goals!
Erakor Island is beautiful crystal clear water for snorkeling stayed there years ago and did a day trip when we went on P&O cruise best place with restaurant for lunch
I always catch a taxi in from the port off the ship, and then catch the boat back as they are not as busy going back! I had the same boat skipper as you got as well! lol
Oh wow last time we were at port vila we were on rc voyager of the seas which could dock at the port, i didnt realise the bigger ships couldnt dock at the ports, we were lucky we could then
Hi Rob and Ali! Thanks for you guys video! We are going to the same places for our first cruising, very excited! Just wondering departure is Brisbane and going to Vila and mystery island etc- what currency do we need in there? And in the cruise ship? Thanks 😊
Hey gang, love your videos. I did my first solo cruise on the Quantum last month and your videos have helped soooo much. I sadly didn't get off the ship in Vila due to tender and no cash but myself and partner are doing the same cruise on the 27th of March. I think paying in AUD is a little bit cheaper and less hassle, having to worry about exchange and card charges for sure.
Just a tip, instead of Alaska go to Antarctica. It is more than 10 times the trip and so worth it. I have been to Alaska 3 times, Antarctica only once but it is amazing. I lived in Port Vila Vanuatu for 2 years. I miss so many of the friends I made while living there.
Hi Yian. AUD is widely accepted in most places in Port Vila. In Supermarkets and the Duty Free shops they will take cards. We have been to Port Vila many times and not found that we needed Vatu. Hope this helps.
Hi Tu. Thanks for the comment and sorry for the delay in replying. Sorry, we do not know specific visa requirements, the cruise line may be able to help you though and either that or the Vanuatu government website may be of help.
They are fixing up a lot of that area as they had earth quake frazer lives not far from resort and he had water come in his house becase of tsunami they had maybe that’s why not much beach at moment
You pay too much with cruise booked shore excursions......I always just get off the ship and there are loads of tours willing to take you where you like for however long you like.
Yeap. That's my homeland. Thank you for visiting our country. Watching all the way from Vanuatu

I will go in vila island soon how can we get an internet connection up there to be able to hire the taxi?

Hi Guys!
Love ya videos so much❤
I was wondering if you had any plans of doing an Alaska cruise?
That’s on my cruise wish list

We found the key was awesome for getting off with tenders
Very helpful! Thank you :)
Thanks Rona.
Didn’t the ship come to the port for disembarking.
When we were there the taxis/buses weren't air-conditioned.
What currency do they accept at the markets when the tender boats drop you off on shore as i am thinking of going there
Most markets accept Australian dollars but you can always get Vatu at the nearby ATMs
Excellent
How do you pay in AUD? Cash or card.
Thanks

Hi Rob and Ali, I will cruise to Vanuatu in July from Sydney. I am not Australian passport holder. Do you know if I need a visa to enter Vanuatu?

What does John charge for the day/half day etc pls
Hi Sandra. Probably best to drop him a line on that one.
Prices are always inflated on cruise days... That's why when we're there..avoid cruise days for anything you do
Thanks George. Unfortunately when on a cruise you do not have any control over the days you are there.
But what about the Pies...will nobody think about the pies!!!🤣
